Well, where do I start? We booked this hotel last minute as after a day at Folly Farm, the drive home to the east of England was not that appealing!! The rate offered was very reasonable - £40.50 for a family room was pretty good. The hotel was located in a great location, adjacent to a Brewers Fayre restaurant and only a few minutes drive from Barry Island. There is ample parking if travelling by car. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by a friendly receptionist (whose name we didn't get unfortunately), who booked us in quickly enough. She also assisted us with ordering dinner from the Brewers Fayre, as we only had a few minutes before the last orders for food was due. The receptionisht (who was on duty on Sunday 2nd May evening) then ensured our room had the correct number of towels, mugs, etc. for a family of three and sent us on our way to the room. The room itself was typical of a Premier Inn; clean, comfotable and spacious enough. If anything, the only issues were a light out in the bathroom (which was reported to reception) and the novelty of having an interlocking door to the next room. The room other than a small wine stain on the carpet, was spotlessly clean (as was all the communal areas in the hotel). No longer had we settled in the room, the food ordered from the restaurant was delivered to the door of the hotel room (delivered due to the current Covid legsitlaton preventing us from sitting inside restaurants). To have a two course meal delivered to a room after a long day at Folly Farm was actually quite nice and relaxing, so hopefully once Covid has long gone, the hotel will continue to allow meals to be ordered and delivered to the room!! :-) No breakfast in the morning due to Covid legislation preventing the restaurant to be open, but this was well advertised on the Premier Inn website. For those wanting a breakfast, either take a short trip to Barry Island where there are cafes aplenty, or take a short drive to McDonalds. Overall, pleasantly surprised of how nice the hotel was and was more than happy with the staff. The receptionist and waiter from the Brewers Fayre deserve particular mention for their efforts.…
We stayed at the hotel just before Christmas and enjoyed the experience. The room was very clean, comfortable and had everything you needed for a great stay. A ten minute walk will take you to the beach, railway station or the supermarket. There's a large, free car park and we found Nicola, Luke and the staff were all very welcoming. We will have no hesitation about returning.
All aspects of this stay were splendid, the staff were amongst the best I have ever encountered o a short stay and the room was spacious, clean and airy. The hotel was quiet, even though we were on the ground floor. My only, minor, gripe is that calling this Cardiff Airport is something of a stretch. The airport is some way away
this was our first night in Wales and it was a very very good night. This premier in is a really good size good location and perfect for families. The rooms are standard premier in size and it has a really nice view from the front of water. The hotel is not right on the beach however about a 1520 minute walk from Barry Island. There is a Asda about five minutes away. we had breakfast at the Brewers fair the next day and because of coronavirus it is no longer a buffet but the service was very good and I’d highly recommend. The area is safe and the house how is it over in a really good location. Definitely recommend!
This is probably the best premier inn we've stayed in. Spotlessly clean, great rooms, all covid precautions in place and customer service was brilliant - they were so helpful, professional and friendly. They even helped us get it sorted out when our car wouldn't start after check out. We live nearby so wouldn't normally consider staying so close to home - but actually it was perfect. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.
