my second time in barry south wales, last time stayed at mount sorrel in west end of town, which was fine. found this b&b on the web and thought i would give them a go, rooms are cheap but this is reflected in the place itself, you are shown in but then you are on your own, only the guests seem to stay here, which i found a little strange. rooms are poorly decorated and the house needs updating, set in the town centre but there is nowhere to eat and the only pubs are a little dodgy really. no facilities here just a room. i would not stay again as there are much better places around, needs work. you should be told that no one lives here and you are on your own, no good for lone females!

We went to Cardiff for the rugby and could not find decent-priced accommodation in town. Searched around online and found No 1 Guesthouse and Kitchen in Barry. This B&B is up the road from the train station which took us right to the millenium stadium in about 15 minutes, and there is free parking about 50 metres from the front door of the B&B, so it turned out to be better than staying in Cardiff itself as we didn't have to worry about our car or driving. We had a great time and felt very welcome, I would definitely stay there again. [--]

Found the web-site for this guest house on a bed and breakfast site, liked the look of the web-site so gave them a call. Is run by two familys, and they just made you feel so welcome. What i really liked was the lounge area that you were allowed to use, it meant that we could all get together in the evening for a drink, not like other bed and breakfasts when you are stuck in your room. Breakfast was fantastic, really enjoyed it. our room was fab, ensuite and warm. Will go back next time we are down that way, great place great people, great price!
