Me and my colleagues are staying away with work, upon arrival we were met with a smile and a happy welcome from Debora. Nothing was too much of an effort and she made us feel relaxed and very much welcome after a long journey and hard day at work. I forgot my mask on arrival and she happily showed me where I could purchase one from, small things like this after a long day really do help. After we where directed to our room I was happy to see that everything was as expected, very clean and tidy with a comfortable bed. Me and my colleagues left to find somewhere to get a takeaway from and asked Debora for some advice and she happily directed us to some nice places. Overall a very happy stay and shall definitely be using this hotel for corporate use whenever we are in the area.
Not a family friendly place at all. Stayed at so many hotels across the UK all of who have gone out of their way to welcome us. First and last time I will book with travelodge. Walked into this place after a long journey to be greeted by a very miserable and unfriendly Debbie. The first thing she said to us was there are too many of you for a family room only 2 adults and 2 kids allowed and we are 2adults with 3 young kids). I explained my little boy will be sleeping in my bed. She said no you can't do that it is our policy incase of a fire you must have another room. I questioned if only one of us came in for the key and the others stayed in the car. She said 'I would be none the wiser.' The hotel policy is totally contradicting itself as they have no idea how many guests are in the hotel anyway! As she insisted we pay for a 2nd room we did. She was very happy to take payment but then failed to provide us with the room key for the 2nd room which she charged us for. I was told the manager will ring me back and 5 days later I am still waiting.…
The location of this Hotel is just what I needed. However the place is in desperate need of a full refurbishment. It’s not a good welcome when just outside the entrance of the hotel smells of urine. A short wait at the reception and greeted by a very friendly lady. But the decor of the hotel was extremely worn out and tired. The carpets in the hallways are just awful. Stained, rucked up and totally worn out. The room itself is also tired and worn out. Major issue in that the sink was completely detached in the bathroom ! And the floor was permanently wet and smelt damp. So a slipping hazard in effect, I had to ask for extra towels to combat this. And I couldn’t move rooms because it was fully booked! No soap on the sink dispenser, another trip to the reception. Oh and in this heatwave the fan didn’t work. The lady on reception kindly gave me her own one. So some major issues and I have only been here a few hours, booked elsewhere after this experience. Complaint made to Travelodge. Saving grace is they have a really nice receptionist who was very helpful. And another guy also ok reception and logged my concerns regarding bathroom leak. Stayed in many Travelodges over the years and this was easily the worst one, never had cause to complain before. Very disappointed.…
I was asked to leave the hotel with no notice, despite being a key worker and having paid in advance. With only 2 of the 5 nights used, I still have not received a refund or communication from travel, except to ask for this review!!!
Where to start. The place needs a complete refurb. I should have walked out but was so exhausted. Reception wasn’t clean and I actually asked for some antibac after touching their touch screen to check my car in. I was given a key to room 108 upstairs. The stairs leading to the room are carpeted which is very badly stained. I opened the door to my room and it smelt really bad. Sprayed my deodorant. Part of the carpet was wet. There were a lot of stains. The bed was clean! That was about it. Even the remote control was dirty. I used tissues to put lights on. I arrived at 4.30pm. Was so tired fell asleep at 6.30pm and slept through until I left I morning, didn’t use shower as the floor and bathroom was dirty. Got back to my house and had a very hot shower! I’ve never felt so unclean in a hotel room. Stains everywhere. During a time where we are on high alert with Coronavirus you’d think they’d clean it properly! I take responsibility for not leaving. I should have but didn’t want to drive so tired. Don’t stay here. I certainly never would again. I’ve added some photos of the room.…
