Detailed Reviews
The place is clean and the location is steps from the beach. the communication with the owner once you establish it is fine and things are well taken care of. THe owner Marietta is so nice and accommodating and speaks english if you do not speak spanish . The area has good restaurants and the main street is a great place to hang around for dinner and fun. Felt very safe the whole time. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is because some nights residents of the town will park at the plaza by the bungalows and place music loudly in the middle of the night. This is not the fault of the owner nor is there much she can do but leave ear plugs. other than that it was a great stay. would highly recommend it.

The location is fabulous! Marietta is so welcoming & kind! The room is small but sufficient. Beds are comfortable, sheets & pillows were good quality. My only suggestion would be a few more places to put your things. A shelf in the bathroom would be nice. Some towel bars. A small shelving unit for your clothes would be great. Some hooks on the walls. If we had stayed longer we would have picked up a few command hooks for the room. There’s stairs up to the rooms. So not good for someone with mobility issues. We loved it & hope to go back someday.

The day before arrival, we received an e-mail asking what time we would be in, as the staff is not always there. Understandable, it's a small hotel. They also would only accept cash payment.
Upon arrival, the room we booked was unavailable (we wanted a single bed) and got put in a room with two double beds. Ok, this happens. No big deal.
The room was clean, but the layout was kind of strange. The dresser unit only had 3 small drawers (which were dirty) then the rest were cupboards. There was only one end table beside one bed. Again, no big deal.
The toilet didn't always flush properly, but it's mexico...so no big deal.
The lighting in the room was poor, but we didn't come to San Pancho to hang out in our room. No big deal.
The hotel isn't actually directly on the beach as advertised, but just a short walk away. We could see the water from our Balcony, which was nice. However, this is one of the noisiest parts of town, but that's the price you pay when the location is great for being close to everything.
We got the room for 30%, so we feel it was fair. If we paid full price, we would have been disappointed. Unfortunately, there were a lot of small things that added up. We were fine with these as we saved some money.
However, for our last two nights we moved down the street to a private room in the hostal, which was cleaner, had a nicer bathroom, and much cheaper. It lacked a balcony and good location, however.

Small location but the place has all you need to have a quick visit to paradise; clean rooms located just steps form the beach which provides the visitors with the environment people love , Festive and peaceful at the same time ; I do not want to forget to mention the great people that welcome and help you with whatever you need ;I do not give the 5 stars because communication with the place is some times tricky , but when you get response they have all the answer for your questions

Very friendly and helpful staff Maria ? Great location ,right on the beach. Free use of beach chairs and a 10% discount on food and drinks on the beach at La Perla restaurant. The beach was great but the waves were pretty big ,great if you are a surfer..but if you enjoy swimming..be careful. Don't wear your sunglasses in the water ...lol.

Tiny room with no chair and nothing to hang clothes or towels. Only 1 outlet and only light from the ceiling fan. WORST of all the smell of mildew from the bathroom is overwhelming. It would be ok for a cheap bungalow but not for the most expensive room of this trip.

Location cannort be beaten, Staff are wonderful, Marietta is SOOOOOO wonderful !! Maybe a "foot washing" station before entering would help ? Construction next door is noisy at present - should be fnished in a year.

It is so, once you meet the people you talked to on the phone to make your reservation, they make you feel so safe and so at home, that you really do not care about anything else.
This is what I refer to when I talk about Mexican concept of service, so natural, and so familiar it hurts.
We had a beautiful stay here, even though it is not the best hotel in their commodities or installations, it is clean and has the nearest spot next to the beach, a beach club and restaurant that gives you preference inf you are staying in La Perla and the welcoming service of beautiful Marietta.
You must come at least to meet her.

We were on our way to Guadalajara but the road construction slowed us down. Rather than waiting in traffic, we took a break in San Pancho. Don't expect a lot, but this tranquil town has a few options. Restaurante La Perla offered some local favorites. We started with the fish ceviche. Very ample serving and it seemed fresh. We both ordered the Mahi Mahi (dorado) ajillo style. If you are looking to enjoy a nice laid back lunch on the beach, it is a good option.

Clean yet basic hotel right on the beach. Nothing really fancy, just a place to sleep and shower while enjoying San Pancho. My room had a window facing into the hallway, A/C and a fan. No refrigerator. Double bed wasn't too comfortable - old box spring type.
Note: There was no manager or check-in office to speak of. I was directed by another guest, to a beach bar. There, a nice gentleman accepted my money for the reservation, handed me a key, and sent a boy to show me to the room.
