The Tailwind Jungle Lodge is an eco-lodge, yoga retreat center and adventure travel company just north of San Pancho, Mexico. Our motto here is "enjoy life"! The blissful jungle, beach and ocean here make it easy to do just that. Our creative bungalows, casitas and palapas are perched amidst majestically swaying palm trees, giving the lodge a Swiss Family Robinson/treehouse type feel. Tailwind is perfect for the adventurous travelers who are looking for an active vacation (hiking, surfing, SUP, sea kayaking, yoga). Of course, we also understand if you'd prefer to simply lounge in the hammock! The jungle experience awaits!

I stayed at Tailwind for nine days while on a yoga retreat. I happily fell asleep each night under a mosquito net to the sounds of the jungle and the crashing waves. Our large group ate VERY well - Alex and his team were creative and every meal was something to look forward to! We could walk into San Pancho to explore, swim, and relax and then easily take a taxi back to the resort. Hikes to the beach were beautiful with a great reward at the end! Tamara and her jungle family (now baby Zephyr!) are lovely. They are terrific caring hosts! Tamara's parents, El Tigre and Jungle Jane took us sea kayaking - wow! They also hosted a marguerita party at their home with a beautiful sunset view. I'm already planning to round up more friends and family members to come back next year! All ages would enjoy this resort - there is something for everyone.…

I tell you, so many stairs!! My bedroom was in Casita Tejones, down a long line of brick and mortar stairs. Thank heavens someone helped with my bag carrying. Okay, maybe I needed the extra stair climbing to add aerobics to the yoga retreat I was attending. There is that. And the privacy of having the furthest casita from the group, and that it was all screened in so I had no need of the mosquito net and had my own private shower, with plenty of hot water, and outhouse, a two holer. But wait, one hole is for pee and the other is for poo, what's a girl to do if she doesn't know what's coming through??? Just kidding, it was pretty easy to figure out where I should sit at any given time. I hung out up higher, at the main kitchen/living space known as El Tigre and was very comfortable with my mosquito bitten ankles in the cold water of the small pool and enjoyed the chattering in Spanish from Alejandro and his crew preparing our meals, which were excellent. There was always plenty to eat and the different ceviches for snack everyday blew my mind. I had no idea there were so many different kinds. Doing yoga everyday, sometimes more than once, was excellent for me and I really did love being in the jungle, with access to a nearby beach, rather than the vice versa. It was cool and shady and not sandy, and the one big adventure I chose to go on was a kayak trip with our hosts. Jungle Judy and El Tigre himself guided us on their boats out of a gentler shoreline than the one they live on. It was a less than hour drive north and we went out into the Pacific in a small pod of boats. It was delightful. I especially liked hearing about the long stretch of sand out around the point that will never be developed due to the shards of pottery found there. And, what made my day, were the many spouts of humpback whales out toward the horizon, which we could also hear when we swam at a small private beach where we stopped to snack and swim. Overall it was a great time away from home to rest and relax and renew away from the winter weather back home despite the unexpected adventure of getting there in the rain !!…

We stayed in Palapa Tigre, situated in one of the most beautiful jungles with a private/secluded beach. The lodge was breathtaking, and our host Tamara was very accommodating. It is clear they take great care of their lodge and their customers here! 10+ stars

This place is special. Tamara said "the jungle has a gentle way of nudging people out of their comfort zone" and that sounded like the perfect thing for the retreat that I was creating. I rented out the entire property and for a full week, we lived together in this magical place and moved ourselves out of comfort and into something far more ALIVE and TRUE. The jungle environment supported us every step of the way. The women who attended the retreat haven't stopped talking about the jungle magic! Everyone fell in love. The jungle family took great care of us and ensured we had a wonderful stay. I look forward to going back and spending more time at Tailwind in the future. p.s. I stayed all over the property during the 3 weeks in total that I was there and the accommodations vary (from indoor western toilets to outdoor composting toilet). The bungalow ended up being my favorite spot! So simple and sweet but definitely for the more adventurous in spirit :)…

Beautiful Eco lodge! The jungle is gorgeous in its exuberance and the beach is breathtaking. Tamara is a wonderful host, generous, warm, kind and with a good sense of humor! My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much, the enlivening yet peace inspiring sounds of the jungle, together with the soft, lullaby like sounds of the waves, are a delight we look forward to enjoying more of! We were very fortunate to stay in Palapa Tigre. The room is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of closet space and magnificent jungle views, the kitchen is really well equipped and we loved the bathroom area, the large open deck and living room...there is beauty everywhere you turn! To top it all off, we were able to bring our beloved dog Lucia with us, who happily ran through the jungle trails and played tag with the ocean waves. We are a family of four (2 boys, ages 7 and 4) and we stayed at Tailwind for 3 nights. It is, simply put, one of the most beautiful spots we have ever seen. We stayed in Palapa Tigre and Gecko, and loved all of the outside time that these accommodations allowed for - cooking, eating and relaxing outside was amazing. The boys loved the little pool, the hikes through the jungle to the most beautiful beaches, and family yoga with Jungle Judi! Tam, Judi, Tiger and Walter (not to mention the dogs Coco and Paris), are the most open, generous, caring and fun group of people, and made sure that we had everything we needed and more. We can't wait to plan our next trip!

We went on the kayak tour with Tailwind Jungle Lodge. It was awesome. Beautiful, peaceful, fun, informative, you name it. We learned a ton about the area as we floated by various stunning beaches. Whales popping up left and right. One of the best experiences we had during our 2 week stay in San Pancho. We also stopped at a deserted tropical beach for a swim. Overall an unforgettable experience. We cant wait to be back in San Pancho and do the kayak tour again.

Taliwind Jungle Lodge was the highlight of our Mexico trip. The setting is fantastic; amongst the jungle tree tops. The palapas and casitas are beautiful and comfortable -- as long as you are not expecting a luxurious resort. This is a rustic lodge, and we loved it! It's an easy drive to San Pancho for a meal, but we were content to cook and eat in for most of our stay. The walk to the beach is easy (if you're at all active), and well worth it. The beach is beautiful, the water warm, and the waves were gentle during our visit. Tamara, Judy & Tigre were all welcoming and gracious. We look forward to returning!

Our visit to Tailwind was perfect. We stayed in Casita Pumita for two nights and it was absolutely lovely. From the roof, we had views of the ocean and enjoyed seeing the stars at night. The bed was very comfortable with views of the jungle. The kitchen had everything that we needed. Our stay was rejuvenating and we wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to go back again next year at the same time of year.

I spent a week here with a yoga retreat group, and we had an amazing time! From the start, the owner Tamara was so professional, efficient with communication, organized, upbeat and supportive. It's actually quite rare to find someone with all these qualities, so I very much appreciated that. You are truly in the jungle here; this is the point. :) This also means that bugs do exist, things get damp, and paths are not brightly lit-- all normal nature occurrences! The beach and yoga platform are both great. However, it does involve walking on an uneven dirt trail with rocks, roots, trees, branches on your path. Good to know if people have balance issues and/or will need to bring sturdy footwear. Noise also carries all around the jungle. Wonderful to hear the ocean and birds, but sometimes our yoga sessions were serenaded by some electrical appliances (sawing? mowing?) and music from nearby. It was a blessing to not have WiFi (unless you went up to the office). Easy to hitch a ride and back into San Pancho town. Fantastic catering by Chef Alexandro and his team.
