The Tailwind Jungle Lodge is an eco-lodge, yoga retreat center and adventure travel company just north of San Pancho, Mexico. Our motto here is "enjoy life"! The blissful jungle, beach and ocean here make it easy to do just that. Our creative bungalows, casitas and palapas are perched amidst majestically swaying palm trees, giving the lodge a Swiss Family Robinson/treehouse type feel. Tailwind is perfect for the adventurous travelers who are looking for an active vacation (hiking, surfing, SUP, sea kayaking, yoga). Of course, we also understand if you'd prefer to simply lounge in the hammock! The jungle experience awaits!
My family stayed in Palapa Parota, which was glamping at its best! We arrived in the dark on December 23rd and were awoken the next morning by my 7 year old daughters awed "WOW" as she took in the spectacular view of the jungle! Tailwind is 'out there' and remote....but it really wasn't that far out of town. We rented a light pick up truck from Gecko (also highly recommend). The road was rough dirt, but it was pretty easy to get in to San Pancho to enjoy dinner and the holiday festivities at night. Tamara, Judy and Tigre are warm and welcoming hosts and Tailwind is a beautiful oasis. I loved that the property was being developed in harmony with nature. We enjoyed the views from the open air shower (and the composting toilet!). The kayak tour with Tamara and Tigre was…

It was more than we could have imagined. The moment we arrived we felt each and every stress from home melt away, and was a relieving escape from the heat of the towns and beaches. You are truly in the jungle here surrounded in every direction by massive palms. The songs of the jungle, Cicadas at night and tropical songbirds in the morning, sing you to sleep at night and gently wake you up with the sunrise in the morning. We stayed in palapa Tigre and recommend it highly. It sits over the pool and has incredible views of the jungle and ocean beyond. There's a beautiful long table on the deck and open air kitchen. An outdoor shower nestled in the palms. To our hosts, Tamara, Jungle Judy and Tigre, you were amazingly gracious. We couldn't have asked for more and have to…

From the moment I first set foot on the property I knew I was in for a treat. I had no idea it was going to be as powerful an experience as it was. This place changed my "Me." The entire set-up bleeds of low-impact, high quality, one-of-a-kind construction. Jungle Judi's line on their website video was perfect, "We're most proud of what we didn't do on the property." And Tiger's new word, "Glamping" is spot on. The entire facility is impressive but there are no words to describe just how cool these people truly are. All you have to do is spend 10 seconds talking with them to know they are among the most genuine, hard working, self-denying people on this good Earth. Each of them, in their own special way, are like characters from an epic movie. I was both humbled and…

Tiger, Judy and Tamara do a fabulous job of servicing and maintaining this oasis of jungle beauty. The food and accommodations are fabulous. A beach is a short hike away, and you will likely be the only persons there. I went will a yoga group but would go back in a heartbeat. Just magical. :-)

Our group of eight stayed at Tailwind in February 2016 for a six-day yin/yang yoga retreat, and I'm already making reservations for 2017. The setting is wonderful -- lush and rustic enough to help your nervous system quickly go "off-grid;" but with enough amenities to make you feel comfortable and cared for. We loved the thoughtfulness that went into the design of both private and common spaces, the use of natural, local materials married with a beautiful and simple artistic sensibility. You can hear the ocean from anywhere on the property (the trees block the view from all but a few places) and it's a 20 minute walk through jungle paths to a sweet beach where you can cover yourself in mud bath and lay down like a lazy iguana until it dries off. (This is more of a dipping…

Our family of four had the pleasure of calling 'Casa Pumita' at Tailwind Jungle Lodge home for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period (Dec 2015). After indefinitely saying goodbye to Sydney we arrived at Tailwind with the simple intent of trading chaos for serenity. Jungle living is the ideal place to lose yourself and in the company of the warm and gracious Jacoby family it doesn't take long for tranquility to present itself. The nearby Playa Los Muertos is one of Jalisco province's hidden gems and if you're lucky enough, you'll have it all to yourselves. After travelling Latin America for well over 2 months it still ranks as one of our most treasured beaches. Throw in some yoga, margarita laden sunsets a spot of sea-kayaking and you'll soon discover why Tailwind is…

I feel like this place just brings out the best in people. The stunning design, the sounds of ocean waves crashing & birds chirping, the fresh air, and the overall energy here is bliss! I rented the entire lodge for a yoga retreat March 4-10th 2016, and it exceeded my expectations! Tamara is great at communicating prior to and after booking and she's available and helpful in answering all of your questions about the jungle and the lodge. One of my participant's put it best: Tailwind offers the optimal blend of chill/adventure and comfort/jungle living. Do be warned: THIS IS A DESTINATION FOR ADVENTURERS! It's not the right place for those looking for a resort where they can sit on the beach all day while getting served drinks. You CAN sit on the beach all day and you can bring…

I have been on my fair share of vacations and this one has been by far the best. I am a young active individual so the resort scene kills me a little whenever a family trip comes up. I stayed in Casita Tejone on the upper level which was an experience! The open air, the sound of the waves and trees crashing was the perfect way to fall asleep. The compostable toilet was an easy challenge to get over. Casita Tejone is a great place to stay for the active individual, if you like stairs you will love the challenge of waking up in the morning! Tiger and Judy were away while we were travelling but we were greeted with open arms by Tamara. She got to know everyone on a more personal level, and was super sweet whenever we were greeted by a bump in the road. The walk into San…

I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived at Tailwinds. Pictures and video can only tell you so much. What I found was a special place. Located at the end of a winding jungle road, Tailwind is a paradise on a hill. Greeted by Tamara, our amazing host, my travel mates and I right from the start felt a fantastic aura. Tamara Jacobi and her family who founded, own and run the lodge really put this place above anything else we experienced. It's secluded, but not too out of the way. Beyond being surrounded by the gorgeous Mexican jungle, the yoga facilities, hiking trails, beaches etc. are nothing short of breathtaking. We are already planning our second visit. The accommodations vary on the "rustic" meter, but you're sure to find the right type of accommodations for your…

After the hustle and bustle of Sayulita a few nights in Tailwind was just what we were after. We were pleasantly surprised by the size & standard of our accommodation (we stayed in Palapa Tigre) which had a massive terrace with amazing views of the surrounding jungle. It really is unlike any other place we've stayed. The open kitchen area was well equipped and we enjoyed preparing our dinner in it the three nights we were there. We found the bed really comfy and had the best nights sleep of our holiday at Tailwind, despite the 'jungle noises'! We also really enjoyed the kayaking tour Tamara took us on - we went to an amazing beach and were literally the only people there. The beach at San Pancho (about 3 miles away) was one of the best beaches we ever been too - beautiful white…
