The Tailwind Jungle Lodge is an eco-lodge, yoga retreat center and adventure travel company just north of San Pancho, Mexico. Our motto here is "enjoy life"! The blissful jungle, beach and ocean here make it easy to do just that. Our creative bungalows, casitas and palapas are perched amidst majestically swaying palm trees, giving the lodge a Swiss Family Robinson/treehouse type feel. Tailwind is perfect for the adventurous travelers who are looking for an active vacation (hiking, surfing, SUP, sea kayaking, yoga). Of course, we also understand if you'd prefer to simply lounge in the hammock! The jungle experience awaits!

Just spent a week at the gorgeous Tailwind Jungle Lodge with 4 others on a yoga retreat. We all had a wonderful time enjoying the jungle, nearby beach and the lovely town of San Pancho. Tamara was incredibly helpful and welcoming and the rest of the staff were just lovely. This is a beautiful place to unplug, slow down, immerse in nature and just reconnect with what is important. Everyone left feeling extremely rejuvenated and nourished from the inside out.

I took some time to write my comment because I did not want to be confused by my fresh memories. First the Jungle is really a WOW!!! But I did not really pay to see the Jungle which should be free (Nature sighting is Free) I pay to have an experience. I would have to agree with the other couple who write a review earlier, bungalows are way too expensive to sleep in, 80 US per night it is not serious, beds are really uncomfortable and you can not really cook (despite the other couple we are kind of young 45 and 19 yrs old so no excuses there,). It is an experience and I do agree, I loved it but the price is not realistic with the service we had. Talking about services, If you are not a "friend" of the host forget about it! I still think it was an overall good experience,

I am very surprised and confused to read this review, particularly given that I spent quite a bit of personal time with the reviewer! I invited her into my home and we spoke for over an hour about her life and work. I did my best to provide a warm and welcoming environment for her. She had nothing but wonderful things to say about her stay here! Apparently that was not enough and I'm sorry to hear that. We do our best to meet and interact with all of our guests here. One of our favorite things about owning the lodge are the interesting travelers who come through here! However, given that we have many guests pass through we simply cannot spend a lot of time with everyone. The bungalow has a simple kitchenette that works for basic cooking. It is not a full kitchen. This is clear in the listing for the bungalow. When this guest contacted me she said she would be comfortable staying wherever. Apparently that is not the case. She would have been more well suited to our Casitas or the Palapa Tigre.

If you go here, spend the money and stay in the nicer accommodation options (which is quite a price jump). The bungalows are run down and the pictures do not accurately represent the actual rough conditions you will find yourself in. Of all the places we stayed in San Pancho and Sayulita area, this was definitely the WORST accommodation for the price and we stayed in some beautiful Casitas for around the same price as the bungalows. They are not equipped with decent lighting in the cooking area, places to sit, or adequate storage to keep critters out of food and personal belongings. Even the hammock was uncomfortable! The beds had super saggy mattresses as well and were very uncomfortable. Clearly, the photos on the website were taken when these bungalows were new. The kitchens

These guests who wrote this review were an older couple who were clearly not comfortable in the bungalow. As the owner, I have stayed in the bungalow many times and have found it to be quite comfortable. However, the bungalow seems to be most well suited to young, adventurous travelers. Many guests who come through here have said that "the bungalow is exactly as you described on the website . . . has everything you need and nothing you don't". It is important to note that the bungalow has a kitchenette, not a full kitchen. The kitchenette can be used for basic cooking. Fun to make tacos in the jungle! Light is minimal, and candles are available, which creates a nice ambiance. Headlamp is recommended. We are excited to be rebuilding the Bungalow Parota this spring! The new deck will be tile. The current wood is getting old, and though it's charming and natural, it's at the end of its life span. If you are looking for a very simple, natural place that offers a real jungle experience you will love our bungalows. If you are looking for something more plush, then our casitas or palapas would be a better fit for you.

Thank you jungle family for welcoming us into your home. I was able to escape the sounds of Sayulita for a couple nights. It was so healing to be in a space where time seemed to slow. There were opportunities to hike and have ocean adventures, but I found myself wanting to rock in the hammock and listen to the wind in the leaves. I would recommend this spot to anyone who loves being in nature, with the comforts of home.

I've had the pleasure of several overnight visits to Tailwinds. The Jacobi family is warm and welcoming, combined with an awareness and respect for the privacy and quiet retreat space of their guests. The different bungalows I have stayed in have all the essentials required for comfort, while allowing the life and vibrancy of the jungle to flow through. Each visit allows me the opportunity to slow down, listen to the wind fluttering through the palms, watch the nature, and savor an escape to somewhere deliciously removed from my 'normal' life. I can only imagine the hard work and dedication this family puts toward maintaining their jungle lodge in this beautiful location, and I honor their commitment to simplicity, ecological principles, and providing a a welcoming space for

I recently hosted my first yoga retreat for my business at the Tailwind Jungle Lodge. It was perfect! At first, I was nervous people would be shocked by the "jungle factor" but after settling into the natural rhythms around us, it became such a magical place! It offered us the chance to disconnect from our technology and to truly just be. Tamara and her family have created a magical place for healing and discovery. Every single person enjoyed their stay at the jungle lodge and I am so happy I chose to host my first ever retreat there! The yoga platform was a real treat too! Tamara was wonderful with helping put my dreams into reality and answered any and all questions I had for the past year! I can't recommend this place enough for your next family vacation, couples get-a-away,

I travel a lot ,sometimes to great hotels, small bed and breakfasts, cabanas at the beach, farmhouses in Italy. When I was young I camped in the cascadas of Chiapas, stayed in a small cabana visiting the monarch butterflies in Michoacan so in those occasions we payed cheap and knew the accommodation would be of austerity. But CLEAN My family and I were so disappointed , we payed 250 dls per night!!! We were just coming from Sayulita and stayed at amor boutique hotel and payed exactly the same money!, You should've seen the difference. We wanted so bad to try this adventure for my kid of 11 years really was looking forward but we just wanted to leave the place ! The toilets were absolutely discusting you could see they hadn't been clean for so long, the curtain that protects

Response from TailwindTamara, Manager at Tailwind Jungle Lodge

This guest was clearly very disappointed in her stay with us and we are sorry to hear that. I don't believe that she expected to be in the jungle, nor did she read the information that we have on our website. We did our best to make her comfortable during her stay, however her expectations were unreasonable and beyond what we have to offer here. If you are expecting a fancy resort hotel, the Tailwind Jungle Lodge will likely not be a good fit for you. The true value of this place is in the natural world. We do our best to offer clean, comfortable lodging to adventurous travelers looking for a unique jungle experience.

A wonderful escape, very quiet with a scenic hike to an amazing secluded beach. Casa Pumita is an excellent choice - just the sounds of the sea and nature. Tamara was lovely and looked after us. Wish we could have stayed longer!

I would feel irresponsible if I chose to ignore their issues with bugs galore, including awakened by bed bugs all night. The owner seemed to be more concerned about us offending her neighbors, than concern for her guests. We felt deceived with her assurance that bugs were never a problem. The kitchen was crowded and a challenge to have more than one prepping. Accept for yoga classes, they kept themselves scarce. We will never return to this jungle of bed bugs.

We cannot guarantee that there will be no mosquitoes. The jungle goes through natural cycles and we generally have very few mosquitoes here, most of our guests agree! We do not have bed bugs. It seems that some people are more sensitive to bugs than others. We are sorry that the bugs were such a problem for this couple.

I bring groups of people to Mexico for a living and have stayed all over the country. That being said, I have NEVER stayed in a place as magical and friendly as the Tailwind Jungle Lodge. It was a beautiful chance to unplug, unwind and chill out in the jungle overlooking the ocean. I will definitely be back. Thanks Tamara!
