We booked a suite for three nights and extended it on site for another two without any complications. The suite is very nice, spacious and has a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The bed was super comfortable and we had quiet and relaxing nights.

If you need some privacy in the bathroom, the suite is not necessarily the right choice for you. It is open and you can see from the bed directly into the shower or to the toilet. We didn't mind, we made it work :)

Before we flew back to Switzerland, we spent another two nights at the Hostel but the suite was already fully booked so we took a standard room. The room size and equipment is fine, only the bed was very uncomfortable compared to the suite and we slept badly.

In the bathroom something is not quite correct with the drain, when we were showering, our half room was flooded.

Breakfast was ok and freshly prepared every day, but unfortunately each person was only allowed to have one plate with a few fruites, a piece of bread and one drink and every day was the same. A little variety would have been nice or at least the possibility to get a second plate. However, it has a kitchen, which you are allowed to use as a guest, so you can arrange yourself.

We stayed at Hostal San Pancho after staying at their Puerto Vallarta Hostel. We had the opportunity to be in two different rooms, and they gave us the second room at the same lower rate as the smaller private room we stayed in, as we agreed we would only use one of the beds.
The staff were very helpful and always available for questions and assistance. The first room we stayed in had a very noisy ceiling fan, however, and they didn't know how to fix it, so we ended up using the AC instead.
The second room was quieter, also simple, and clean.
We loved using their tricycle bikes to go to the beach, but found a couple of the basic bicycles were in pretty rough shape. They also had a beach umbrella we borrowed a couple of times. I suggest they do a big tune-up of the bikes, have a working air pump available, and replace the umbrella or do some maintenance on it. I agree it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the beach, and about 5 minutes on the bikes.
The breakfast was light but good, with fresh fruit, banana bread, and coffee/teas, juices, etc.
We would likely stay here again, if we could have a private room again. We paid approximately $45 USD a night.

As pretty much the first hostel in my trip of Mexico, it was a lovely and warm welcome. The living room is super cozy! So many interesting travellers came and went while I was there. The whole pl ace has a very unique and comfortable feeling, and from what I've heard, they're
only going to extended it further. I completely fell in love with this town, and it is nice that the hostal is a little away from the city centre (maybe 10mins walk) the most joy I felt here was simply riding the hostal's bikes through the main street, with row upon row of colourful flags overhead. Be careful of traveling to San Pancho, you might not want to leave. Awesome hostel, magic people!

The hostel "dorms" are so bad. The rooms dont even have walls and there are beds in the hallway. It is extremely dirty, blood stains on the bed. Canceled my booking after I've seen the dorms, they look completely different than on the pictures online. Staff was unfriendly, didnt give me a refund. Worst place ever. Maybe private rooms are a bit better.

We booked late and ended up with a room with no window to the outside (only to a hallway), a noisy fan, and a stinky backed-up bathroom. All of this could have been tolerated if the price of the room was reflective. We paid 700 pesos a night, which was actually one of the most expensive rooms we paid for along the Riviera Nayarit. We paid between 350-600 pesos a night for every other accommodation, with rooms ranging from 2 double beds in nicer hotels in Puerto Vallarta to condos and full apartments in smaller villages. My point is, if you end up here make sure your room isn't one of these bad and ugly ones and maybe you'll have a better experience.

Room was cute and clean. Site said 5 minute walk to beach but was actually about 15 at a quick pace. We stayed for 3 nights and literally got no sleep. There was a rooster living right outside our room that went all night long and the doors to our balcony acted more like curtains. They weren't actually sealed doors. Even with ear plugs it was so loud. We also found it hard to get the free breakfast unless you spoke Spanish. The guys at the front desk were really nice and hate to give this place an average review but just did not meet our expectations at $100 Canadian a night!

We were so happy to find this cheap and comfortable accommodation at a very nice place Sun Pancho. Opposite the hostel there is a big mango tree. You can tear away fruit or gather them on the ground and then eat! It is like in a village!
It is very friendly, clean and bright place with good atmosphere! I was impressed with the big bust of Buddha in the hall at the 2nd floor! There is a pleasant chill zone there where everybody can spend time with friends or with Internet.
Our room was very comfortable, clean, quiet and well designed. I really like it!
The owners and the staff are very friendly, benevolent, always ready to help.
We wish to visit San Pancho again! See you!

I was passing through for a day and ended up staying for six. The town as well as the people from the hostal were incredibly helpful and friendly. They made me feel completely at home and comfortable. Clean, cheap, beautiful outdoor patio as well as an upstairs lounge. Highly recommended!! I will be back very soon. Great place, great vibe!

Gracias, familia!

My home away from home! After just a couple of weeks at the Hostal San Pancho I felt cared for and a part of the local crew. The rooms upstairs are great and the big common area is a welcoming place to hang out. With recent upgrades to the dormitories downstairs there isn't a single bed I wouldn't be comfortable in. I look forward to going back as soon as I get the opportunity.
After a 10 day excursion South, I got back to the Refugio de Sol and realized that I should have given some warning... The staff was incredible and ensured that I had a room, but I learned it is important to make reservations! Enjoy your stay.
