Set like a moonstone in the abundant palm forests which frame the idyllic village of San Pancho, the Inn at San Pancho offers abundant gardens, charming casitas, and a cascade pool. Embraced by the colors of Mexico, with jaunty peacock blue skies each morning, and the gaudy sprawl of sunset ushering in each star-filled night, this enchanting Inn with its spectacular vistas weaves days that unfold like magic, and spins memories that will cling forever.

The Inn at San Pancho has been our favourite winter retreat for many years. The small Inn is an oasis in the lovely town of San Pancho. We love reading by or swimming in the sparkling clean pool, walking to the charming town for a meal or strolling the pristine beach. Eileen and Tory are ideal hosts, welcoming their guests with the kind of warmth that makes one feel like treasured, long-time friends. The casitas are well-appointed, very clean, charming and comfortable. The pool, grounds and gardens are lovingly cared for by their friendly, courteous staff.
The town of San Pancho has many fine restaurants and the sunsets are spectacular.
We can’t say enough about The Inn at San Pancho, our “home away from home”. We can’t wait to go back!

The Inn at San Pancho (GataGorda) is our home away from home when we visit San Pancho. Location is perfect: just above the center of town with a great view but away from the noise of the village restaurant scene. We don't bother with a car rental because everything is walkable. Eileen and Tory have maintained a great facility with a terrific pool, beautifully landscaped grounds, immaculately clean rooms which are fully equipped for either short or long stays. We like shopping local markets and cooking many of our own meals, so the well equipped kitchens are great. This year, my wife and I were there for two weeks and could share V! (one of the cabanas) with another couple. In the past we have rented 2 or 3 rooms to bring the whole family. I would give it more stars if I could.

We recently had a perfect post-vax getaway to lovely San Pancho, an easy cab ride about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta. On a friend’s recommendation we ended up at the idyllic Inn at San Pancho, located an easy five minutes’ walk fro the downtown area, which hosts many excellent restaurants, and about a 15 minute walk from the beautiful mile-long crescent beach. The Inn is located on a hill and has great views of the beach and jungle. The units are spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed. We enjoyed many gorgeous sunsets from our large private veranda. The pool at the Inn could not be a more perfect place to catch up on your and work on your tan while sipping a margarita or two. Eileen, one of the two innkeepers, lives on site year round and was incredibly gracious and helpful, even giving us a ride to the next town for our covid tests for our return flight to the U.S. We’re already planning our next visit!

As I wrote last year, the Gata Gorda is a wonderful place to stay in San Pancho. The Inn has four accommodations (or "casitas"), each unique and beautiful. Since 2013, I have stayed in all of them, and this is my 14th visit. In the past, as a working college professor, I have always stayed here in January (winter break) and often in March (spring break). I retired in 2020, and resolved to spent the winter in San Pancho, a good call since I live in Chicago. Since December 1, I have been living in Casita Agave, a spacious one-bedroom place with a beautiful covered veranda. Because the Inn is up a small hill from the main street, Agave has stunning views of the pueblo, the surrounding hills, and the Pacific Ocean (which is a ten-minute walk away). All of the casitas have good views both outside and inside! Eileen and Tory, the innkeepers, are interesting, caring, and very responsive, and the Inn has a dedicated staff. The grounds of the Gata Gorda are lush with tropical plants and trees and the pool is a gem. I highly recommend the Inn at San Pancho in a pueblo that is itself vibrant, safe, and unique. San Pancho has many restaurants, taco stands, and shops, even though the population is but 1300. And is not crawling with tourists, as is Sayulita to the south. Consider Mexico, consider the state of Nayarit, consider San Pancho, and if you come here, stay at the Inn at San Pancho. My winter here has been glorious.

Saludos,
Rich

We loved this place and after Covid 19 we will book it again. Thank you for everything!! We were a couple with ample room, outdoor space, great kitchen (we like to cook a lot) - two more could have easily joined us. One thing that would have been helpful to have is containers for left overs!

We've been to the Inn at San Pancho more times than I can count now (4 or 5...?), both as a couple and with young children. I've even stayed there by myself for five days, I felt so at home and wanted to extend a trip. Each time it's felt like a peaceful sanctuary, perfect distance from the beach and the town (read = away from the noise, but a 5-10 minute walk to everything we want/need), a place to read a book or bring back dinner or just lounge by the pool or on the balcony. The owners will do everything to make your stay a perfect experience. I cannot recommend highly enough.

The Inn at San Pancho is a sanctuary in paradise. We loved our airy, spacious casita with its huge balcony, and the gorgeous gardens and salt-water pool. The owners are incredibly warm and accommodating and their sweet little pets — two dogs and one cat — are the icing on the cake.

I stumbled upon The Inn at San Pancho on a blog I read. I really had no intention of a trip to Mexico and had never heard of San Francisco aka San Pancho. It sounded so relaxing and tranquil, and a non “all inclusive” type of resort town. I was drawn to book for some much needed rest, relaxation and quiet. The Inn was amazing and provided what we needed. Set in a beautiful garden are 5 casitas. Authentically decorated with thought and comfort. Just like a home away from home! The pool was clean and perfect for after beach refreshments. Birds and butterfly’s peace and quiet! Both the owners (Eileen and Tory )were extremely helpful, and made us feel like family. What a gem of a find. Mucho Gracias! We would 100 percent return !

My wife and I were very comfortable in the casita just a short walk from the pool. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and the space itself had a view of the Ocean. We're quite surprised by all the food options in town as my wife is a gluten free vegetarian. We are hoping to get back to the Inn at San Pancho again next year.

We had a great stay at the Inn at San Pancho! Tory and Eileen were so welcoming and gave great recommendations for places to go and food to eat. Their dogs Dolly and Ella are adorable, too. The property is beautiful, and you wouldn’t know you’re in the middle of town - it feels like a tropical escape. The pool is salt-water and heated just enough, and the whole place just has a warm vibe. The casita was clean and well-maintained, with everything we needed, including ac. It’s a 5 min walk to the main street where the shops and restaurants are, and another 5 or so to the beach. We loved our stay!
