In this family run business you will find it all, almost.
Maria's smile to welcome you with her grand children at her feet. Son, Carlos is now taking over as he continues his distance learning of paramedicine. There are ground floor casitas with or without kitchen as well as a new room at the back,no street noise but the neighborhood has a lot of free range chickens.
On the second floor there are rooms for sharing with family or friends as well a a single or two. We like the street side single room, private shower with a porch kitchen. You see and hear it all. It is most comfortable with the A/C unit and access to the outdoor light switch to make it really dark at midnight.
Comfortable sitting areas to hang with the family, read or paint as our new friend Freddy does while here from the wet west coast of British Columbia.
Daily street vendors coming by with local fruit and veggies, shrimps, ice cream and many more goodies. The walk is fun to the main street, only half block passing local families front rooms, a yoga studio, and fruit/veggy juice.
All this and you have not walked the 3 blocks to the playa where you can find surfers, and all that there is on a beach. Central American hippies with trinkets to sell, locals with fresh bread/pastries.
Spanish is the language here but both Maria and Carlos do get along in English. This is not the "Ritz", these are clean, safe, welcoming accommodations with international guests of all ages. Some TV, always WiFi, laundry next door. We will be back...book ahead if possible via email to Carlos. San Poncho is getting busy and there are limited casitas.

I returned to Maria's again this winter and was greeted with a warm family group hug. Carlos and Celia are the new generation family hospitality managers and will find you the right type of room for your needs from simple beds with shared facilities upstairs to small or large fully equipped suites. Very central, easy to find and a walk up to the Hwy. puts you on the local bus to other nearby locations. Great beach, great food and music and simply the best people. I love Mexico.

We stayed here off and on for 4 months this past winter (2017/2018) and we were so impressed! The price is very reasonable, and if you are staying long term you can often work out a deal with Carlos, the owner. Between Carlos, his mother Maria, Uncle Raymond, and their lovely housekeeper Patty, there is always someone around to assist you or have a friendly chat. If you speak Spanish you will have no trouble at all - If English is more your strong suite, they are all working on it and doing very well, just need to be patient! We stayed in a variety of rooms throughout our stay, all of which we loved. Not all have A/C, but they are all equipped with working fans and opening windows. There is also decent quality wifi, and Spanish cable television in each room. Daily housekeeping is available, although we found it unnecessary as we spent most of our time out and about. Our favorite room the large upstairs suite with the balcony overlooking Calle Asia. It is one of the pricier ones, but well worth it if you are there for a short stay and want a bit of luxury at a still affordable price. Las Casitas de Maria is centrally located near many shops and restaurants, there is even a 24 hour Kiosko just at the end of the block which is very convenient! There is also a laundromat next door (which will wash, dry and fold your laundry for a steal of 15 pesos per kg). All of this, plus it's only a 5 minute walk to the beach. I sincerely hope this place sticks around and remains this quaint get away even as the rest of San Pancho continues to develop around it!

In addition to no air conditioning and no kitchenette, they refused to accept payment in pesos using the current exchange rate and refused to accept credit card. The room was very small - it was supposed to be big enough for 4 people - and it only had one 1 foot by 2 foot window. When I spoke to the owner about booking online she said, "Oh, they're crazy. We don't honor what they say."

Spent 3 nights at Las casitas de Maria at the end of a month long trip to Mexico. We booked this hotel on line because we wanted check out a Spanish school as well as the town of San Pancho. Most all of the lodging we looked at was quite a bit more expensive than Casitas de Maria. We were pleasantly surprised to find a quiet, clean and secure room with a number of artistic touches added by Maria. The room was fairly large as was the bathroom. There was also a refrigerator provided. It is also centrally located, close to a number of good restaurnts and shops, and 4 blocks to the beach. Maria, the owner was delightful and gave me a chance to practice my Spanish.

From the minute you set foot in this great little place, you are welcomed as if you were family.
Maria the Mom and her son Carlos own and run this Casita.

Maria is a great lady, so friendly and accomadating, always a smile and a warm greeting.

Was my first time back in Mexico in 15 yrs. and this place will make me come back very soon.

Great location, close to everything (nothing is that far in San Pancho).
Rooms are super clean, whole place actually.
I am staying in the back room, perfect for a solo traveler, a/c, ceiling fan, cable tv, free wi-fi, mini fridge and twin bed.
Been here 10 days and bed linen changed twice already!

Maria's hospitality though is what makes the place...

Feb. 2018 can't come soon enough!

Being a guest at Las Casitas de Maria makes the visit to San Pancho very special. Carlos, son of Maria, and his gracious wife Celia are wonderful hosts. It's a treat to be greeted by their adorable sons, the street life and the ROOSTERS. Truly a delightful, real Mexican experience! The location could not be better for easy access to all we love about this beach town.
The apartments are very clean, thanks to Patricia, safe and provide just what we need for the simple life. I spent 3 months there this winter, joined some of the time by 2 generations of my most appreciative family. I can't wait to return.

We arrived here without pre-booking and Maria was able to find space for us (split between two rooms) for the 6 week duration of our stay. Super sweet family! My daughters also enjoyed playing with her grandkids. Would definitely recommend:) Very clean, responsive, friendly and kind environment.

Loved spending a glorious month in one of Maria's Casitas. The location was excellent with proximity to all the offerings of San Pancho and so enjoyable to be in such a nice, friendly accommodation where the roosters and other guests enjoyed the hospitality of Maria and her charming family. Each room is different and quite reasonable. I hope to return.

Maria is wonderful and willing to work with your needs, space available. Single rooms under construction ( bought boys beer yest.), rooms and sm. K, 3 single suites and 1 upper deluxe suite which I bargained for the month-worth every peso. Very pleased, will be back
