Don't be deceived by the appearance from the street, this place has all the luxury you want. The rooms are spacious and clean! The staff are friendly but not intrusive. They want to make you feel right at home. The beach is a short block 1/2 away. Private balconys as well as a large sundeck on the roof make this hotel a pleasure to stay. Prices are a bit higher than along the strip but the quiet makes it well worth the money.

Friends were staying up the street at the Decameron Los Cocos which we found too expensive as walk-in customers ($1800 pesos in low season! plus 9% service charge to pay by credit card!, so nearly $150/night for all inclusive for two people!) We were suggested this property which is easy to walk by, but lovely inside. There was some construction going on (the pool waterfall appeared under renovation), but they immediately gave us an immaculate king room for $35/night! Spanking new, excellent bathroom & a/c. Ok so the kids in the pool woke us up at 5:30 am., but we wanted an early start anyway.

Lovely staff, and I would stay for a short while in a heartbeat! There is no way we could spend $115 in Guayabitos or La Penita for three meals a day (the difference from the all-inclusive at the Decameron), so we didn't regret our decision. The properly is ENTIRELY non-smoking, which I'd never seen before, and there are numerous ramps in addition to the stairs.

We were supposed to stay in a place up the road from this site, but when we got there, the rooms were a mess, so we moved. Through a comedy/tragedy of errors, we only stayed a Loma Linda for 2 nights, but they were wonderful.

For a July trip, the most important item in the hotel is Air Conditioning. It worked great. The rooms were nice. They came with a kitchenette and two double beds. We took up 3 rooms.

Their pool has a swim-up bar that is open in the evenings. It also has a wading pool area for the little ones who don't swim yet.

They offer private, gated parking, and the site was clean and nice. I would stay there again if we visit.

Also, they cater to US and Canadian snow-birds, so all of the staff speak English to some degree.

My wife and I just finished 5 wonderfull weeks at Hotel Loma Linda. Our bungalow ( kitchenette ) was ground level, poolside with a table to sit at outside our room. This was perfect because we originally was booked on the second floor of the new building across the street which was not ready for occupancy yet. Our room 126 has full kitchen and appliances apon request including wave oven. Three full size beds with comfy mattresses, but the pillows are below Canadian standards. If your thinking long term make sure you have room in your suitcase for a pillow. You will thank me. The shower was so nice, hot water when ever you need it. Thet supply you with a 5 gallon reusable jug, the first one is free and 30 pesos per jug after that. They will deliver the water to your room.
What makes this hotel so special are the guest staying their, the majority for 2 to 4 months, some even longer.
The minute you check in you will be wellcomed by staff and other guests. It turns into a real community here during the winter months with all guests. They have various activities throughout the week, fridat nights is music and dancing night up by the parking lot. You love it at Loma Linda meeting so many people, no grumpy people staying here.
There is a swim up bar with bar tender and he makes great cocktails and cold beers
Loma Linda is two blocks from the beach and close to the west end of town. This is a good hotel location for the beach because the west end has the calmest waters for swimming.

Our 2 month stay at Loma Linda was extremely pleasurable, from the moment we arrived till departure. It is a small hotel by comparison to others in Guayabitos, however because this is a family run business, their standards are beyond question. Friendly, courteous, clean rooms ( every 2nd day) and grounds, happy staff are just a few of the attributes of this hotel. The Hotel is a block away from the beach, which doesn't detreact from being there - the kitchnette/ room is ideal for cooking up your meals i.e. fish and shrimp bought on the beach from local fishermen or fancy steaks from the local butchers, all within 3-4 small blocks away.
Most vacationers are CDN./ US snowbirds who keep coming back year after year: proof of this hotel's attractiveness.

The Hotel Loma Linda is one of the better hotels in Guayabitos that is located a block from the beach. The rooms are very clean and so are the pool and common areas. One of the best features of the hotel are the friendly and helpful staff members. We simply had to ask and our request was immediatly seen to. The owner, Ismael works very hard at ensuring that your stay is excellent whether you are a first time guest or a 'regular'. It's quiet at night, except for the tranquil sound of crickets chirping. From September until December (low season) there is a special where if you book for a month, you get a complimentary week free of charge. Enticing! Mida works at the front desk and her command of English is perfect and she truly cares about your every need. Juan, the man in charge of the hotel maintenance seems to work around the clock. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel when you decide to visit Rincon de Guayabitos

The hotel is clean, has some good staff, and is located close to the beach. It's full of friendly retired Canadians who enjoy socializing.

It's family owned which is nice, and it's set up beautifully. There is a lot to recommend it; however, there are some real significant issues. They say there is wifi, but it does NOT work at all, except in the lobby and then sporadically because everyone is there trying to access it. You can't use the wifi in your room at all.

There are also only charcoal bbqs, no gas bbqs and the noise level is out of control at night.

It's not a bad place. With improvements, it could be a great place to stay.

What is your availability for two for 7-10 days & what is the cost per night? Thank you
Answer from Jim N

They may be called suites but they are just average size rooms and not quite up to a mediocre rating. There are nicer places and this hotel seems to have an affinity for overbooking. Beware!

Hi, do the rooms have a safe, and if so, what kind (electronic, key lock, padlock)? Thanks

No safe. Mediocre hotel. Overbooks a lot.

"The rooms on the south side overlook the pool in the front. Most interesting is the entrance to your room. From that side you face the horse rentals (lots of nice horses to see) and a large tree that often has 4 or 5 iguanas lounging in it's branches. The third floor is great especially if you want to get a bit of daily exercise."
