What I could not apriciate at all: We had to pay for everything: a bed at the pool site, parking, and so on. Room was very cold and the AC was very noisy and no place for storage your toiletteries in the bathroom. Parking in front of the hotel for check out was only possible for 5 minutes. half an...

We made our reservation on the phone and forgot to tell them we had a AAA membership. Upon arrival we told the desk clerk we had AAA and asked for the discount. He told us we already had the discount. I asked how he knew we had AAA and he said he was feeling generous when talking on the phone...

Sunny Isles aka North Miami Beach used to have small to medium sized hotels built in the late 1940's. 1950's and early 60's. Not any more. The town changed their zoning which opened the door to monster development with 50 story towers of conspicuous consumption. There are only four of the hotel motel "classics" left. The Thunderbird is one of...

This was our first time staying in Miami after returning to florida every year for 6 years and it is the first time we have ever come across a hotel that had the potential of destroying our holiday. We had two ground floor rooms (on request) which were a good size but in terrible need of refurbishment. the bathroom was...

Most of the hotels in Sunny Isles were built in the 1950’s, most have been replaced by new high rise aparthotels. Most apart from the Thunderbird that is. Where ever you look in this hotel, it appears as though some rank armature has painted over the 50 year old cracks! Yes, our room was clean, but everywhere you look, and...

I was extremely worried about staying at this hotel with my 1 year old. But I caved in and booked 3 nights for $200. Upon arrival, I thought the lobby was nice. It is not the Ritz, but it is definitely cozy. Our room was clean and neat and the balcony/patio gave us a stone throw's view of the beautiful...

Two large rooms on the ocean for $200 in Miami, now that is CHEAP. Literally 50ft from the sea. There is a downside. It is a 2 star hotel at most but we found our roooms to be clean although badly in need of maintenance. The beds were fine, the sheets were clean. i would recommend ear plugs as yes...

Ok, I was really worried after reading all the reviews but this place is FINE. I was attending a wedding at the nearby Trump but couldn't afford the rates there. Booked a room here through Kayak for 65.00/ night. The hotel is an older 50's hotel, rooms sort of 80's color scheme. Room was clean, as was bathroom. Maybe a...

My husband and I, plus our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter stayed one night at this hotel pre-cruise from Ft Lauderdale. I booked on line and gave my credit card to hold the hotel booking. On checking out I actually had a different credit card with me - no problem I was advised, you can use that card and we will...
