We stayed here in August to celebrate my mums birthday and we are so glad we decided to stay here. The location is fabulous. The Balmain Wharf is across the road and the buses stop right outside the front door. Getting into the city was a breeze and we enjoyed the ease the ferries offered in taking us all around....

Thanks so much for your lovely comments and so glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for the delay in responding - holidays and the busy Christmas period. Do hope to see you back with us again.

Balmain Wharf Apartments are in a wondrous position facing Sydney Harbour. It’s a great spot for a vacation or for a base for a work trip. This is a beautifully-restored former waterside pub, converted into holiday apartments. We (my wife and my humble self) stayed in apartment # 4, “The Parapet”. I went ahead to set up camp whilst my...

We stayed for two nights this past week and were blessed with great weather making it easy to get out and explore. The building is lovely and has been carefully renovated while keeping its original features such as the thick sandstone walls. Our apartment had gorgeous views, and everything you could think of for a comfortable stay....the Foxtel package was...

Not quite as good as our stay in January 2014 as the Balmain East Wharf was being rebuilt. So we were unable to use the ferries like we loved on our previous trips here; however, the bus stop is right outside the door (can be a bit noisy at night but not too bad) and the bus trip into Sydney...

We struggled to fault this apartment, yes there are buses turning in front of the complex but they are hardly worth mentioning. This is quite simply a gorgeous place to stay with seamless check in. Don't look any further.

These apartments very comfortable, well appointed and have lots of complimentary stuff (nibbles, a bottle of wine, fruit basked). But the real draw card is the multimillion dollar view. All my rooms (in #3) looked out towards a rather close looking Harbour Bridge and Barangaroo. And pretty much outside the front door is the ferry which can take you quickly...

It all just worked out well. Very comfortable old building (By Oz standards) lovely view. The TV had live premier league football! The area was quaint and all you needed was just a short walk away. I read about the buses before I got there and had some reservations. It was not a problem or annoyance. In fact, on the...

We were staying at the smallest unit from 5-11may - 2 adults and a 9yo. Check in: seamless as we were already given the passcode to the unit. The only minus point is we could only check in after 4pm due to housekeeping/turnover. Interior: very well kept and cosy. You will feel at home immediately. Fresh change of flowers brightened...

My husband and I stayed at the Balmain Wharf Apartments for a week long Sydney holiday. The wonderful heritage building is 20 metres from the water and ferry. Our apartment was spacious and lovely with an amazing panoramic view of the city, bridge, Luna Park and harbour, and we never tired of looking out at the scene and passing water...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Only steps away from Balmain East ferry wharf (see note about renovation below), our boutique property has 4 apartments, each with panoramic views of Sydney Harbour. Our unique setting on the tip of a peninsula, is only 1km from the Sydney Harbour Bridge with easy public transport access for visiting friends and family or a corporate stay. Restored in 2011, Balmain Wharf Apartments is a historic sandstone building built with sandstone quarried from across the harbour. It served as a pub under the name of The Shipwrights' Inn since the 1840's for the shipyards that populated the foreshore until the Harbour Bridge was completed in 1932. While historic on the outside, all apartments are individually furnished with modern conveniences, quality fittings, luxury linens, and everything you need to stay in. Managed by famed resort, Bannisters, Mollymook. We are suitable for a long stay and generally require a 7 night minimum. Parklands on either side of the building are ideal for morning walks and picnics under old gum trees. This property has two floors and a secure entrance - all entrances have stairs and Darling Street is a hilly street. Darling Street's main centre, Balmain Village is 700m away, a convenient 5 minute bus ride. The shopfronts are rich in history and famous for macarons, weekend markets, boutiques, and heritage pubs. With a large supermarket and a full variety of shops, Balmain Village has a motto: "you'll never have to leave the peninsula". However, there is plenty to see and do in the CBD and the areas along the harbour, all within a short and scenic ferry ride away, direct from the ferry wharf at the doorstep (see note below about renovation). The ferry terminal at Circular Quay also connects to the airport train line (allow 1 hour travel from airport to the apartments). Two reqular bus routes travel to the Inner West or an easy 20 minutes to the Queen Victoria Building near Pitt St Mall, the central shopping district of Sydney and also Town Hall train station where you can take a train to the Blue Mountains. NOTE: Balmain East ferry wharf is currently closed for renovation until June 2015. The alternative wharf is about 20 minutes walking distance from the apartments. ... more   less
