This hotel is very different to what you might expect in a city the size of Sydney. It is actually situated in a National Park, at North Head, Manly. It overlooks a beautiful harbour. You cannot drive into the grounds, but must leave your vehicle in a car park at the entrance, close to the Reception. The historical structures, most...

We were alerted to this hotel by an offer sent by Kogan Travel but a quick bit of research found the Accor website had the same offer without having to go through the hoops you would need to go through with Kogan. Our rate included breakfast and we chose to upgrade to an ocean view room, very relaxing sitting on...

My husband and I picked up a voucher from Groupon for a two night stay at the Q Station. It included a bottle of wine and free buffet breakfast each morning. We found the staff to be genuinely helpful and friendly. We left our car in the car park at reception and caught the shuttle to our room. What a...

Short version - if you want to see Q Station, visit for half a day but don't stay or eat there. Appalling customer service & attitude from a number of staff, dysfunctional bus service, unbelievable that Accor allow this within their hotel chain. Turned away from the restaurant/bar after travelling for 12 hours, forcing us to drag our young children...

We booked a queen suite for one night. Arriving via ferry, check-in was quick and effortless. The Q station is located on North Head, the entrance to Sydney harbour, set in the historic quarantine station with an array of heritage buildings, amazing city views, and plenty of easy walks. Recommend the 15 minute walk to the Fairfax lookout, past the...

Fantastic, but be warned, this is a spine-chilling event! My wife, daughter and I were sceptical when we booked this tour, however, after experiencing this blood curdelling event the 3 of us are now true believers in the supernatural. The mysterious 'dark side' of the history of Q Station was graphically retold by tour guide Chris. His descriptive oritory immersed...

Being set in a national park adds charm to the Q Station and there are parts of this hotel which are really quirky and unique but the overall service we received while staying here was the worst we experienced during our three week holiday in Australia. We only stayed one night and was told we couldn't check in when we...

Had one night stay here with Easter special. Lovely, spacious, quiet accomm (P22), delicious dinner at Boilerhouse (although uncomfortably rushed to make ghost tour!), exceptionally terrifying ghost tour, good breakfast, delightful beach, very helpful staff. Only downside was the staff didn't seem to be aware of Easter special card, and had to follow this up to receive. Would highly recommend,...

We were very disappointed with this hotel. Our bathroom was separate from our room so we had to go outside (where there were lots of small animals, especially in the night) to get to it. On leaving we were told that not all the rooms are like that...would have been useful if the reception staff had given us that option...

Unique accommodation and/or conference venue with plenty of opportunity to clear your head with fresh air and great views. High heels are not recommended as many steep hills and stairs. Definitely worth the effort.

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
