We stayed overnight at the Q station, as we needed a venue close to Freshwater Beach, where we were attending a wedding.
Our rooms, 48 and 49, in "P 10 Block" were spacious, modern, clean and comfortable.
Each room had its own Queen sized bed,...More
Nothing that I read fully prepared us for the wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable experience at Q Station. However, because it is a historic site and they have done an excellent job of keeping as much as possible of the old Quarantine station feel, you need...More
We spent three nights here with family. It was great, we didn't have to use the car. Caught the ferry from the pier or Manly into Sydney. The Q station is a lovely spot, great views, comfortable and well equipped accommodation and the breakfasts were...More
I cannot think of any other hotel on Sydney Harbour that is anything like the Q Station. No, it is not luxury by any means, but it has extensive grounds and an interesting history that make it a completely unique place to stay in Sydney....More
A very unusual hotel. Basically converted Quarantine station in an amazing setting. Beautiful views of the harbour . While is is not 5 star it is a location and hotel like no other. You have to transfer to a bus at the parking lot as...More

A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants
as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.

Hi there! The information you heard is correct - our dedication to conservation and preservation of the history of both buildings and site means that a lot of our rooms have external private bathrooms. This means you have your own bathroom, its just about 3 steps outside your door across the balcony.
All rooms titled "deluxe" have their own internal ensuite bathroom. Our cottages also have a bathroom inside the house. Other than that (heritage, etc) the other rooms have external private bathrooms. Hope this helps! :)
