Booked for 10 days because of good location. First night was a worry. Suite only had a small bar fridge that badly needed defrosting. Recertion staff not helpful but I insisted and hotel staff did attend. In the morning I explained issue with reception staff that to stay another 9 nights with only a small bar fridge was annoying. There are only 4 rooms with a full size fridge and fortunately one was available and I was transferred, This room was excellent for an extended stay. I would recommend hotel for short stays but would not use it for a long visit. Small shopping centre. with supermarket, chemist in walking distance. Easy parking available
Stayed here for a week during the Royal Edinburgh Tattoo. The hotel was chosen for us by my employer (for the price I’m sure) and reading the reviews I probably wouldn’t have chosen this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. The hotel is an old renamed Waldorf hotel. It has been maintained fairly well though it does show its age. I think there are people who live here in the apartments as well as it being a hotel. My room was reasonably clean and in good repair, though I was worried by the fact there was no safe for my valuables. Again, staff were pleasant and professional. There is underground secure parking. It’s quite tight. We had a big car and had little issues, but you need to be honest with yourself about your driving ability as there is little room for error. The hotel is about a 30min walk from Parramatta CBD and a 15-20min drive to Olympic Park. So there are better options if either of those places are your destinations. It is across the road from Rosehill Racecourse so it is perfect for that. There are not many restaurants within walking distance and the hotel restaurant looked as if it catered to a more senior crowd. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. …
I was rather surprised that when I booked in the reception didn't know I'd paid and quoted me $30 less for the supposed upgrade to Executive Apartment with balcony.I booked through Booking.com. The room itself was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable, however the balcony was just a small strip with no room for furniture. I want out there in bare feet and what appeared to be rather a lot of small, sticky food particles stuck to me feet. This is an area that surely needs to be included in daily cleaning. The soft furniture is dated and needs cleaning but the location was ideal for my trip. Maybe I should have stayed at The Rydges, right across the road.
Very pleasant hotel, tallest in the area. With the right room you can see from the Sydney Harbour bridge to the Blue Mountains, and overlooking Rosehill racecourse. Tasty and wide selection for breakfast. No night time restaurant but room service available at reasonable prices.
