The foyer and building are the best things about this hotel. The bar is not part of the hotel and only takes cash, the breakfast was nice but no variations allowed, the rooms are very basic and small (though could live with this for one night) but being charged for 2 nights on check out when had actually already paid...

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about your stay. On checkout your husband presented his card to be charged for the room and the staff on duty did accidentally charge the card for the full stay. Your husband signed the credit card slip and no charges were taken without consent. The next day when you rang...

We have just spent a week at The Hughenden in a Cosy room. We weren't expecting much because it is their cheapest room, but we were pleasantly surprised. Yes the room and bathroom are tiny, but they have both just been renovated and look amazing. There was more than enough room for two people and two suitcases. The location of...

Althought the main foyer of the hotel was very attractive, our room...room one... was very basic. The bathroom sink was minuscule with a ridiculous glass shelf over the top of it which made even cleaning teeth impossible. There were well established spider webs in the air vents, bare floors...not in a good way...and workmen started making a huge racket before...

Thank you for choosing to stay at our hotel and for taking the time to post a review about your stay. As you noted in your review, we are renovating the hotel at present. It is a lengthy task, but we have now renovated nearly all of our rooms and work will be completed in a few weeks’ time –...

This was my second stay at The Hughenden & my second stay in a Cosy Room. The Cosy Room is cosy in a good way it’s perfect for one person or a close couple who aren’t anal about space. It had a very comfortable bed with crisp white linen. The ensuite had been refurbished since my last visit & was...

A boutique hotel which is comfortable and friendly. The hotel is an old victorian sydney house with original features. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean and the staff are all friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and good. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which appears to be very popular but unfortunately we did not have...

Stayed one night in the Terrace Room, a little dated and in need of a lick of paint but very comfy bed with good size television, also bath, shower and toilet. Room door opens onto terrace with tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the night air with a drink. This room was at the rear or the property and...

We were introduced to the Hughenden some years ago and now make it our essential hotel when in Sydney. It has a superb atmosphere, absorbing the quirkiness of Victorian mansion, and of course, being up to date in the facets that you need in contemporary accommodation. The fine antiques and art works in the reception room, and throughout the establishment, enhance this...

We booked a 'Standard' room because the 'Cosy' ones sounded rather small. But the room we were given was tiny anyway, hardly any space around the double bed. If you'd opened your suitcase on the stand, for example, it would have blocked your way to the bathroom. There was an ironing board on small legs in the cupboard - but...

My husband and I spent a week at The Hughenden with another couple from NZ and our sons while watching the Ashes Cricket Test. The staff were helpful, charming and professional. Unfortunately our Terrace Room overlooked the main intersection which meant going outside with our friends for a drink in the evening was impossible due to the loud traffic noise....

This hotel wasn't for us. If you like shabby chic, quirky bohemian style then I can see the attraction of the main part of the hotel. But the bedroom accommodation is dire. We had been told that the 'cosy' bedrooms were very small so we opted for a Terrace apartment (T7). This was in a separate building across the road....
