We purchased the package for $540, which included a mountain view room, 5 course degustation dinner and a tour of the kitchen garden (& possible tour of the cellar...if you're VERY lucky!!). Our meal was very nice and 5 courses was plenty, as they include...More

Great cottages overlooking Mt Sturgeon. Unfortunately it had just had some wild weather so we couldn't walk the track into town but the cottage itself was perfect! Breakfast hamper included pancake mix, jams, syrups, fresh cob of bread, bacon (although we don't eat meat but...More
We were really looking forward to our stay at The Royal Mail, which was part of a road trip from the Yarra Valley to the Barossa focused around food and wine.

Dining at the RMH in Dunkeld has been a goal for many people for such a long time because of the first class rep their chef enjoyed. However, I believe that particular chef may have moved on? Once you have booked accommodation and arrived in the town - there are really no other dining choices so they have a captive market. I sent the Manager an email a day or two after our stay to voice our disappointment but have received no response. The accommodation was great, food and service very poor to say the least. Never again.
