Lovely cosy pub nestled in a valley. You can walk up to the village or head out for walks across the local fields, which we did. As others have said the rooms are a little small but this is a pub rather than a boutique hotel. Fantastic bed and neutral décor but with some character. Bathroom could do with an...

This is a lovely pub, in a beautiful part of the world with good food and comfortable beds. Unfortunately we got no sleep as it turns out the Economy Double Room we were in means you're situated above a loud boiler/generator/fan which rumbles noisily throughout the night. This wasn't mentioned when we booked. If I'd known we'd have booked elsewhere...

We stayed here while visiting friends in the area, and had a very pleasant overnight stay. Our room was cold when we arrived as the window had been open all day, but we asked about the heating and it was soon resolved, and we were then nice and warm. The room was spacious, and the shower was very powerful with...

Booked two night here as surprise for my mums birthday (she was visiting Highclere Castle) and she loved every minute of her stay. The location was ideal and very quant with thatched roof cottages. At the evening she ate in the restaurant and had two delicious evening meals. The room was massive with a big comfy bed and the staff...

Very last minute booking with friends and our dog. What a fantastic little place. Staff were extremely welcoming, rooms were clean and the bed was very comfy. Although the walls are very thin! Well behaved dogs are allowed off lead in the bar and this was brilliant for us. We stayed on Easter Sunday and the evening meal was Spanish...

Went for anniversary. Staff were friendly and could not do enough. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower was lovely, powerful and hot. Food was absolutely amazing. The staff even booked us a taxi to the distillery and looked after our bags till check in. Would love to go again.

We have just completed our 3rd night here and can not fault the place. The staff, from owner, manager and through to handyman and cleaner were superb and attentive. The food was spot on every evening and the whole place has a nice relaxed and welcoming feel. Well done to all of you for making our stay enjoyable.

We stayed here with our children and their partners as part of our golden Wedding celebrations, (we had visited the Bombay Sapphire distillary during the day). Rooms and bed are very comfortable but the bathrooms in all three rooms we had, need some updating. We ate in the pub and all six of us enjoyed all courses. The local smoked...

After visiting The Bombay Sapphire Distillery we booked a room for one night. Very nice room, perhaps a bit on the small side, but comfy bed and nice bathroom. From the moment we walked in the staff were really helpful and chatty. We had our young Spaniel with us, he was even allowed in the restaurant, which was a bonus....
