This is a classic old world lodge... we returned 25 years after our first visit ( Mallacoota isn’t really on the way to anywhere,) ... perfect views of the lake, waking up to birds singing, silence in the evenings, big open fire.... cook your own...More

Our host Russell was fantastic, facilities clean and available. Comunal areas made interaction with other travellers a highlight. Very...More
A true, hidden gem. Well worth the 20 minute detour on the Sydney-Melbourne coastal drive. Beautiful views, great hiking trails nearby. Rooms are simple yet comfortable. Highly recommend it.
Good for families.
We could not recommend Karbeethong Lodge more, it is in the most beautiful setting overlooking the lake, Russel is an excellent and informative host and the rooms are very comfortable. This was a great place to unwind and explore Mallacoota. The breakfasts are excellent and...More

No, part of the beauty of the place is that it doesn't have TV/Foxtel and you don't miss it. In fact, that is one of the things that make it special. The Guests actually talk to each other and the kids do things they normally wouldn't such as board games, card games, reading etc rather than sitting in front of "the Box" and not communicating. Don't take the lack of having a TV as a negative, it's actually a positive. There is a great little pub in town, a picture theatre and your days will be relaxing exploring the beaches, lakes area, bushwalking or just lazing on the front verandah taking in the views.
You'll enjoy your stay.
