The Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville-Vanderbilt-Elliston Place has received a myriad of feedback regarding its attributes. Numerous guests have voiced concerns about room cleanliness and the state of upkeep, highlighting rooms as tired and poorly maintained. For many travelers, the hotel's value proposition is brought into question, especially with the added sting of unexpected fees like parking charges. While amenities draw mixed reviews—with some guests commending the comfortable rooms and complimentary parking—others are less impressed, facing maintenance and housekeeping shortfalls. Service experiences vary, with accolades for some staff members' helpfulness contrasting sharply with accounts of neglectful treatment. Despite some positive remarks about suite cleanliness and laundry services, the overall atmosphere of the hotel is marred by unclean common areas and a lack of attention to detail, leaving several guests dissatisfied.

At check in were delighted to be upgraded to a suite! Although basically furnished, it was fab to have a separate sitting room and tv. The kitchen was fully equipped. Our bedroom was large and the bed very comfortable.
The free breakfast was acceptable and tea and coffee was available throughout the day.
Also the guest laundry on Floor 7 was much appreciated. We could go home with suitcases full of clean clothes!
Parking was free and the centre of Nashville only about 2 miles away.
We loved it here and were sad to leave for our drive back to Atlanta. It was our favourite hotel of our 2000 mile road trip through the Southern States.

You can find other hotels in Nashville as nice as this one for cheaper, but they will not be in this location. We needed to be in the Vanderbilt/Belmont area, which is pricey. This is not a luxury hotel, but the rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff was great, and breakfast was very good. Plenty of free parking was available, and the parking lot was easily accessible. We stayed on the first floor. I heard a lot of noise outside our room during the day, but the guests seemed to be quiet at night. I did not hear noise from the parking lot or street at night. The shades on the window did a great job of keeping out the light, and I didn't feel like people in the parking lot could see in our room. Martin's Barbecue is across the street - a bonus. This seems like a safe place to stay. I only have one criticism, and that is the bathroom was not ventilated. I suppose that was why the paint was peeling on the bathroom ceiling. This one flaw, however did not affect our overall stay. We would stay here again.

Stayed at this property with my family and chose it because of the availability of the larger suites with separate bedroom and full kitchen. This Hampton Inn had a great location being very close to Centennial Park and Vanderbilt University. Everything was within walking distance and we felt very safe although we were not out late at night. The hotel is a larger Hampton Inn. The room was large, well appointed, newer, and clean. The full kitchen was well stocked. The room did have a few very minor annoyances. There was a smaller round, bar height table with two bar chairs and it would have been more useful and desirable if there was replaced with a square or rectangular table and a few more chairs to seat at least 4. There was plenty of space for this type of table and chairs. The room was dark and needed ceiling lights to brighten up the space. Finally, the to go cold breakfast was marginally acceptable and could be improved. I was surprised that a property that appeared to be fairly busy hadn't brought back their hot breakfast or at least offered more cold and prepackaged choices. There appeared to be plenty of space in the dinning/lobby area for social distancing and we stayed at another Hampton Inn on the same trip and they offered a normal hot breakfast. There was plenty of safe parking on the property.

I liked the size of this hotel: not too big and not too small. Since I didn’t need a rental vehicle, this property was located within walking distance to restaurants (Martin’s BBQ, J Alexander, and Bombay Palace were standouts), Walgreens, Vanderbilt, Barnes and Noble, Centennial Park and the Parthenon. Even The Gulch and Music Row were only a few miles away. Uber is wildly expensive: $17 + tip to go 2 miles to the Frist Art Museum (which is only open Thursday - Sunday, a fact Nashvillians seem unaware of). Instead, enjoy the art at the Parthenon and at 21c Hotel.

The hot breakfast is delicious with options for everyone: oatmeal and topping, protein (eggs, bacon, sausage), muffins, bagels, toast, juice, cereal, fresh fruit, self-made waffles, coffee, tea, water.

The rooms (a suite) was roomy and insulated from street and hotel noise. Having a kitchen (fridge, microwave, oven, and utensils) was helpful. There’s an ice machine and snack machine on each floor, plus a little store adjacent to check in.

On the minus side: the bed was not comfortable, and if there’s one thing a hotel should have it’s comfortable beds.I missed not having literature (about the hotel, the area) in the room. I walked 30 minutes to Walgreens to find the Nashville magazine. There were no pens, paper, or postcards anywhere to be found on the property, and no one knew where to get them (the Parthenon gift store and the Hatch Show Print store). The pool had apparently closed on LaborDay, a fact not mentioned on the website; the site still showed the pool open. Disappointing.

This property has declined in quality and now is badly in need of both renovation and adequate staffing. Carpets in the elevators are frayed and filthy. Furniture in the room is chipped and worn; our ottoman was ripped at the seam and had stuffing coming out. Guest laundry machines are ancient. Weekend staff seemed inexperienced and short-handed. We asked for housekeeping on Sunday and were told that because of "so many checkouts" they wouldn't be able to make up the room, but that we could be given fresh towels, tissues etc. Well, we got none of that. We are fans of Hampton Inns but it is very disappointing that this hotel is now charging over $300 a night on weekends and delivering such a subpar product.

We stay at this Hampton Inn location at least once a month for our daughter’s appointments at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. The staff is amazing and they consistently go above and beyond to see that our needs are met while we are there and that our stay is as comfortable as possible. The hotel is very quiet and clean. We love it here and highly recommend it for anyone staying in the Vanderbilt/West End area.

Despite seeming to have plenty of housekeeping staff, and despite asking, our room was never serviced during our 4 night visit. We had to ask for new towels (and could only ask at the front desk, who were sometimes more interested in their phones than in helping) and empty our own waste baskets, then leave the trash and towels outside our room. Only the breakfast staff went above and beyond to make sure we always had a good breakfast experience. The rooms (especially bathrooms) are in desperate need of servicing. Beds were uncomfortable, and my partner and I (both normal weight) kept rolling towards the center.

Initially chose this general location for close proximity to hospital/surgery. Prefer this brand and other reviews bolstered our choice. Th only irritation was days after the reservation was made, they added a parking fee of $20 per day via email, and as of our check-in day, their recording still stated that parking was free. However, other hotels in the area charge $30. per day, so in light of the price-gouging reputation Nashville has, $20. is not bad, and the parking area was good and well controlled. Have already planned a weekend pleasure getaway back here, we enjoyed our stay & the staff so much.

We stayed here for a hockey tournament, from the beginning it was a disaster, the rooms were old and dirty, the bathroom door knob didn’t work, we found another persons wallet in our room because it had barely been cleaned since the previous guest. Most of the staff was friendly except for the one lady working evenings. She had a chip on her shoulder from the time we walked in. It was obvious she was upset there were 3 hockey teams staying in her hotel. She wouldn’t allow the kids to sit at the tables in the lobby because they were making too much noise, so what do they do? They start walking the halls and being kids. Nothing was broken nothing was out of place and no one was up past 10 or 11pm. Waking up to check out Sunday morning about half the team, indiscriminately was charged $250 with no explanation rhyme or reason. The girl working the front desk pleaded the fifth and complete ignorance about the charges. Some of the kids charged were in bed by 9pm and others were up a little later. This place is not meant for teams or anyone outside of patients for the hospital next door. The parking is terrible, location is great, breakfast was cold.

Hampton never disappoints...typically. Don't get me wrong, this is a solid Hampton property and you can't beat the location if you are visiting Vanderbilt. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfasts are your typical Hampton breakfasts, which are good. Parking is easy and convenient. The rooms are nice, however, ours (318) is very tired. I paid up and booked a suite which gives us a living room and kitchen with a separate bedroom. But this one is very tired and outdated. As I glanced in other rooms that were being cleaned, it appears as though they were bright and updated. It seems they would do the same for the suites which bring them more money. This is a large Hampton... 8 stories, I believe? During our stay, one elevator is broken which became extremely inconvenient during breakfast time. Physically fit folks were taking the stairs, but I have a physical challenge right now and don't have that option. Also, my digital key never works. I keep stopping by the front desk and asking them to fix it, but they just gave me a plastic card. Not a big deal, just an annoyance. These are the only reasons I can't give this property 5 stars. I will probably try the Homewood Suites across the street next visit. It looks a little less tired.
