We booked the hotel thinking it was close to Opryland. It was about 7 miles away but it seemed like a world away when it come to cleanliness and comfort. When we checked in they had a big sign saying no animals and that you would be charged an additional 100.00 per night if they located any with you but the woman working come out of the managers office with a massive lab and he barked and scared the crap out of us. He was constantly barking. We got done checking in and went to the room...I wish I could describe the smell. It was a mixture of pot and sweat is the best way I can describe it. The room was overall terrible. It was in a sketchy area and it was just not a comfortable feeling. We decided to go somewhere else. Went down to checkout and the owner refused any kind of refund so I took the 75 dollar hit and went on my way. I would rather take the hit than to ever feel that unsafe or disgusted. I rarely write a bad review but the hotel shouldn’t even be in business.

Room was basic. Toilet seat was broken. We notified the front desk. Said it would be about half hour. 3 hours later and no one showed up to repair. Water leak in bathroom ceiling. Peeled , cracked, and bubbled. Chair in room corner was set to hide that the leg was broken and wall used to support it. Says it is near Opryland but is in a depressed side of town. Place needs repairs and upkeep done. Will not recommend.

Word of advice, keep driving. The positives: sheets were clean, they burned your eyes as you sleep with the smell of bleach. All new security cameras!
Cons: Manager has the same disposition as a cat returning home from being neutered at the vet. Lobby and halls dimly lit. You could have taken a warmer shower with a garden hose. Heat/ac unit unplugged, couldn't get to work. Bathroom fan missing, just a hole in the ceiling. No breakfast, but be wary of the doorway if you choose to look for yourself.

The room lacked a smoke detector, the bed was hard, the TV was old, the shower curtain rod was falling down, the toilet was loose, the electric outlets on the bedside lamps didn't work, and the shower was slippery with no handrail. All for the low, low price of $150 a night! This place was just above a dive where you pay by the hour!

I have served in several war zones and none were quite as miserable and depressing as this Super8. With experimental biology thriving in the carpets and finger nails and specks of blood in the bathroom areas, I can only conclude that some poor soul must have been kept prisoner in my room previously to my stay. I got a survivor's high from checking out. Appalling.

We booked this hotel through hotels.com and is by far THE worst hotel we have EVER stayed in. The carpets in the hall and in the room have not been swept in who knows when. The beds are disgusting! I feel Like words can't express how nasty this hotel is. I wish negative ratings were available because this doesn't even deserve the TERRIBLE rating. We will be contacting Super 8 and Hotels.com to inform them of this un acceptable condition.

I have stayed at some nice Super 8 hotels in the past, so I paid for the room before I left the front desk. I should have known how bad it would be by just looking at the registation desk. The hallway carpet and walls were filthy with bad stains, looked like animals lived there. The room was dirty and old smelling. The bathroom was awful....needed to be torn out. There were large dead bugs on the floor. Rubber base mold was torn off the front of the tub, nasty brown stains outside. The owner has no idea how a hotel should be cleaned and remodeled. I asked for a refund and left immediately. I only regret not getting any photos to add to my review.

This was my first and will be my last time staying at Super 8. I chose this hotel because it was a fifteen minute drive to my daughter's university and to save a few dollars. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. My first complaint is the check process, when I arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm, no one was at the front desk to greet me. I waited for 20 minutes and then I decided to call the hotel. After several rings a man answers, I told him I was at the front desk trying to check in and he said he would be there in a moment. After finally getting checked in 45 minutes after arriving, I went to room 113. On to my next complaint, the room smelled, was out dated and TV is set on a timer and will turn off! Bathroom could have been cleaner. Good thing I brought my Lysol!!!! I sprayed the room from top to bottom all the time thinking, this is only for 2 nights.
The next complaint, the next morning house keeping came to the room, I told her we would be leaving in a few minutes and yes we needed fresh towels when she comes back to clean the room. We left at 10:30am. Closed and Locked the door when we left, when we returned at 10:45pm our room door was OPEN!!!! When we walked in, the room was not cleaned and the towels were removed. Apparently housekeeping had started on the room but she never returned to complete it and left the room Opened All Day!!! Luckily we weren't missing anything, I went to the front desk and complained. The guy told me that the lady who does housekeeping had called out and the lady I spoke to that morning was the manager, she was cleaning rooms and left my door open! Really!!!! I would expect her to be more professional when it comes to customer service!! When I leave my things at your establishment in a locked room, when I return it should still be locked!!! I was away for 12 hours! That's Not Good and Very Unacceptable!! Plus I had to get towels from the man because she didn't replace the ones she took. He told me he would let her know about my complaint. Needless to say, I will Never stay there again!!!!!

We stayed at this hotel one night so we could go to Nashville Strip for the night to hang out. It is close to everything and it is a decent price. The breakfast did not have a great selection but there is a Waffle House right next door.

If it was possible to rate the Super 8 by Wyndham Downtown Opryland Area a zero, it still wouldn’t be a low enough rating because this place is a dump.

My family and I were staying overnight in Nashville for a rock concert, so I booked this hotel because Booking.com had the best price and their reviews were favorable. It was also because of the property's relatively close proximity to the concert venue in downtown Nashville. My first mistake was not looking at the TripAdvisor reviews from the start and solely relying on the information from Booking.com, so a word to the wise, always check TripAdvisor!

Where do I begin.
The hotels location wouldn’t likely be considered to be in the safest or most desirable part of Nashville, so the thought of leaving any valuables in our vehicle was completely out of the question. Access is convenient as it’s right off the interstate but what I immediately noticed was the number of run down and boarded up properties and the homes and liquor stores with security bars on the windows and doors. That’s definitely an indication to me that the area has a problem with criminal activity and break ins, a definite red flag for me.

The room photos shown on the Booking.com page were almost certainly either not taken at this hotel property or they were taken when the hotel was brand new because they make the rooms look way too clean and nice from what we encountered.

The room we were assigned smelled like a cross between a solo cup half full of stale beer and cigarette butts and a bowling alley restroom on men’s league night and it was just about as clean. When I booked the room online, the booking information specifically stated that it was a non-smoking room yet it reeked of cigarette smoke. The carpet was so filthy that after about ten minutes of walking on it with my shoes off, it turned my socks almost black. There was peeling paint on the wall behind the bathroom door, dust, hair and debris on the toilet and sink, dirty, dingy, stained cushions on the small sofa and a general filth on all the light switches in the room. Our granddaughter was going to sleep on the sofa sleeper but when we pulled it out, the sheets on the wafer thin mattress were stained with some unidentifiable substance that appeared to be bodily fluids of some sort and the carpet beneath it was covered in dirt, dust and trash!

As hard as I tried to convince myself that it was going to be okay for only one night, I just couldn’t let my family stay in such a terrible room. We checked out and advised the front desk clerk that the awful condition of the room was the reason we would not be staying the night there. The clerk, though appearing nervous about our displeasure, was very quick to tell me that he wouldn’t be giving us a refund so I immediately contacted the Wyndham corporate office by phone to let them know how displeased I was with the poor state of the accommodations at the property and also to advise them that if their name is being attached to this Super 8, then they should really consider a major renovation of this property up to the point of closing it down until it can be improved. Wyndham was very cooperative and they began a case file for my complaint and to attempt to compensate me for the inconvenience. I also contacted Booking.com to try to get a refund and I was immediately told that it would be highly unlikely that a refund, partial or otherwise, would be given. So here we are, just one day into our vacation and we’re already out roughly $130.00 for a room I wouldn’t pay five bucks for! I also wanted to advise them that the reviews of the hotel are definitely misleading and not at all representative of the conditions we encountered and the ratings should be adjusted reflect this before any other unlucky traveler has the misfortune of being duped like we were. Fortunately, we were able to find last minute lodgings in a much better nicer room for significantly less than what we paid for the Super 8 and in a far better location as well.

All in all, had I simply checked the TripAdvisor reviews to begin with, I would never have booked this location. Take my advice and steer well clear of the Super 8 by Wyndham Downtown Opryland Area!
