Detailed Reviews
Phylicia & Austin are the literal best! I am in town several times a year and am constantly in and out all day for various meetings, and while my day is hectic, their service never is! I can always count on them to have my car ready when I need it. They greet me by name on arrival, are always friendly and more than willing to help load items in the car, and really have set the bar high for other people holding the same position. It’s rare to experience good customer service these days, but these two have nailed it. 5 stars for the first people you will see if you check in during the day!!
Also i should note that i am
Not a fan of the new valet program or procedure. It causes confusion, backs up the parking lot if several are checking in and you are lucky to have these two individuals on your team who make it a lot less frustrating.
Lastly it should be noted that 1.50 service fee discourages people from tipping and that isn’t fair to these two great employees!

I picked this hotel because needed to be in that area, its about an easy 30min walk to where the bars and music is, west end and 20 min walk to where studios are. Location was perfect for me, love to walk.
Hotel is nice, rooms are very spacious and very comfortable bed.
the negative, no bottles of water in rooms but they do have coffee to make, they do have a filtered water fountain on first floor.
They only clean room by request and thats ok but I requested it because the point in being in a hotel is you dont have to make your own bed on vacation right? when I came back someone put a bag of towels that I didnt request by the bathroom and no one cleaned nor made beds, besides that all good. People are very friendly and my room was ready on arrival at 10:30AM, that made was the best.

The Courtyard Nashville Vanderbilt/West End appreciates your positive feedback and is pleased to hear the location was convenient for you and that you found the rooms to be spacious and comfortable. We're sorry if there was a misunderstanding about our in-room services; we want to assure you that our team is dedicated to providing a clean and comfortable environment. It seems there was a slip-up with your room cleaning request, and we apologize for that oversight. Also, we acknowledge your remark about bottled water availability. While we do have a filtered water fountain, we understand more water options could enhance our guests' comfort. And thank you for complimenting our friendly colleagues and the early readiness of your room - we do our best to ensure a swift check-in process. Thanks again for choosing us for your stay. We're excited to serve you again in the future!

Typical Courtyard so you know what to expect as far as rooms and service is concerned.
I had a room facing West End Ave and that seems to be a race track for “wannabe” race cars with little to no muffler systems. The noise insulation of the hotel is practically non existing - needless to say it was very disturbing!
Best part about the hotel is that Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is literally across the street so you can check the extend of the queue before getting in line.

### Review of Courtyard Nashville Vanderbilt/West End
My stay at the Courtyard Nashville Vanderbilt/West End was fraught with one issue after another. Despite its convenient location within walking distance of Vanderbilt University and some decent dining options, the overall experience was disappointing.
The hotel's construction quality was subpar, leading to a very noisy environment. The thin windows and lack of proper insulation meant we could hear every car that passed by, and we were frequently woken up by noise from the drive-through at Cook-Out down the street.
Our room had several issues:
1. Creaky Beds: Any movement on the beds produced an audible creaking noise, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
2. Unclean Bathroom: The bathroom had urine on the wall, and although we notified housekeeping, it took an entire night before someone was available to clean it.
3. Loud Air Conditioner: The fan motor in the air conditioner was malfunctioning, making it very noisy.
4. Smoke Detector Issue: There was a plastic bag on the smoke detector for some reason, which was concerning.
5. High Valet Parking Costs: The cost for valet parking was exorbitant at over $40 per day, plus tips, with no other parking options available. I've paid less for valet in downtown LA, which felt like extortion.
On the positive side, the staff did their best to address these issues. They replaced the mattresses with newer ones, eventually cleaned the bathroom, and attempted to fix the air conditioner, though it likely required more maintenance after our checkout. The staff's efforts were the only saving grace of our stay; otherwise, we would have checked out early and demanded a refund.
Despite the helpful staff, I would not stay at this hotel again. I will likely be visiting Vanderbilt frequently in the coming years, but I will be seeking alternative accommodations.

Stayed with the family for a 2 night mini break. First impressions were not good, dead plants by the entrance and bits of rubbish blowing around. The foyer and bar area were quite nice. We were told upon check in that we would have to request for our room to be made up. We couldn't request this at check in, it had to be done the following morning. I thought this was strange as why wouldn't you want your room made up if you're staying at a hotel? I guess they hope people will forget to ask. The room was basic but clean. The bed was made up with cheap feeling cover and the pillows were so bad they literally felt like cotton balls inside a sack. The filling had completely disintegrated. This was the case for all four pillows. I slept with a towel over mine as I was grossed out by how old they must be. The next morning I requested for the rooms to be made up and was abruptly informed that they would only be done between 3-5 pm as they were 'busy'. I asked for better pillows, explaining the problem. When we returned in the late afternoon we found the same pillows and the bed roughly made, with the cover just crudely pulled over the crumpled sheets, lumps and bumps everywhere. I was really annoyed by this as it showed such contempt for standards and for guest comfort. Don't stay here is my advice

The room was nice. Everything else was subpar and made it a negative experience. Despite a large, attached parking structure, you are forced to use the valet to park, but it is woefully understaffed and the very small entrance area is often so backed up that they can’t even get cars in and out. Housekeeping skipped us one day and we had to call twice over a 6 hour period to get housekeeping service at 4:30pm the following day. This is a busy hotel. I hope they fix the staffing issues to create a better guest experience.

I wish I would have read the reviews before booking! We checked in a hour before the next day and was charged $40 for one hour to park! No luggage carts where available and the manager has no sympathy! The valet worker ended up finding us a cart. Night time valet gave my keys to the wrong person! He laughed at the situation! Housekeeping/room service never came by to give towels or clean the room. I dnt even want to get on the fact about how to pay for the room and i called to confirm . The work Marriott I have ever stayed at!

Started off by having the wrong room ready. We booked a wheelchair accessible room, and called prior to verify. The room they gave us was not accessible, could not get a wheelchair in the bathroom. They changed our room the next day. Then rained over night and the room had large amount of water leak in, they brought a large floor fan to dry the carpet and is stayed in the room for the duration of the stay, 5 nights. Pool music came on very loudly at 0700, to wake everyone up. Housekeeping woke us up 2 times by knocking and trying to open the fort st 0800, again waking us up. Over all cleanliness was poor. Very disappointed and no comp offered for the inconveniences

Hotel was great location, staff was so friendly and had everything we needed! Valet rocks, Jacob and Jamison are extremely helpful! I will be staying here again if I’m in the area. The valet also gives a 10% gift card for the restaurant across the street, which is one of the best restaurants!

This hotel is conveniently located near Vanderbilt and Broadway, but it is tired, tired, tired. Loud, dark, and had some hard living. Beds are old and creaky. Pool was drained for some reason. Workout room AC was broken. And the parking valet service is an absolute joke! Better never need your car in a hurry because you ain’t getting it and when you finally do….it is likely to be boxed in and you will have to wait for an opening to get out of the driveway. Room is marginally clean. Bathrooms are tiny. I was a bit surprised Marriott claims this property.

The shuttle does not go to the airport. It will run you from the hotel to locations within a few mile radius of the hotel - e.g. to downtown locations.
