The Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Vanderbilt earns high marks for its friendly staff and clean, comfortable accommodations, although some guests feel the decor is somewhat dated. Its prime location is a hit with travelers eager to explore downtown Nashville, yet the hotel maintains a peaceful retreat from the bustle. However, the additional charges for parking and breakfast have left several guests questioning the value, with these costs often catching them off guard. Despite this, the hotel's cleanliness and service often receive praise from its visitors.

Although there are a number of different hotels in the Nashville Vicinity, this hotel has the best customer service, clean rooms, delicious food and the proximity to downtown, the highway and the academic campuses is phenomenal. I so greatly appreciate that they all recognize me when I come for work and remember my name. Keirra at the front desk ALWAYS goes above and beyond to help me and ensure that my stay is of the utmost quality. Matt and LaMontez are always quick to obtain my vehicle and provide amazing customer service. Every other hotel employee will acknowledge your presence with a smile and ensure that you are having a great stay. Housekeeping always wishes safe travels home when they see me leave. Fabulous hotel. 10/10 would recommend!

The price was great compared to downtown. The location was just far enough outside of the hustle and Brussel of downtown. Easy walk to Westside and downtown. Our next visit will probably stay downtown though. Hotel is quiet which is nice. Nashville is a happening, loud place 😀.

Easy stay. Good location. Since it was cold ( we are from Miami) we took an UBER until the bars which cost us around $8.00. You can walk during the day. Our fare had parking included otherwise you would have to pay $ 45 per night. Breakfast is buffet style and cost $18 per person. Silent room and comfortable bed.

My wife and I booked a room here for Thanksgiving night. We were supposed to stay two nights. We chose this property due to having an indoor pool which is not too common in Nashville area. The furnace in our room was extremely loud and the television kept trying to find a signal without success. Maintenance came up and was not able to fix the furnace so we were sent to another room. This second room was not clean and the furniture was stained and beat up. The seat cushions had liquid stains and looked like furniture from a dive motel. I commented that I had seen better at a Motel 6 (nothing against Motel 6) and so we were escorted to a third room by the front desk clerk. The third room had beat up and dirty furniture as well, dust all over the walls, a floor lamp with the shade and light socket hanging by the electric cord among other things. The clerk witnessed and understood our issues but was unable to do anything other than offer a full refund. We accepted the refund and then proceeded to look for a different place on our phones at 8:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. The staff that we interacted with were very polite and professional and did make the effort to make things right and for that we are appreciative. We ended up finding a Drury Inn with an indoor pool (for half the price) and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and amenities they offer. They also have a rewards program. I corresponded with Hilton about the issue and on 12/3/24 I got an email with a case number but have heard nothing since. We received a full refund so I'm not expecting them to give me anything, but I would have thought that they would have wanted to hear from us what happened so that issues could be addressed. The lack of follow-up by Hilton indicates that they aren't too worried. I'm guessing they are happy to charge a premium due to being close to downtown and happy to only cater to the inebriated party crowds who won't notice the filth and excessive wear. This was not at all on the same level of other Hilton properties we have stayed at.

Dear C_and_H_in_Staunton, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay, especially on a special occasion like Thanksgiving. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us identify areas where we need to improve. We are deeply sorry to hear about the condition of the rooms you were provided and the inconvenience this caused. It is disappointing to learn that our maintenance and housekeeping standards fell short of your expectations and our own. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff tried to resolve the situation, and we regret that we were unable to provide a satisfactory solution during your stay. The issues you described regarding the loud furnace, malfunctioning television, and the condition of the furniture are unacceptable and not representative of the high standards we strive to maintain. Please be assured that we are addressing these concerns with our maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure they are resolved promptly. We also apologize for the lack of follow-up after your initial correspondence with Hilton. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we will review our communication processes to prevent such occurrences in the future. While we are glad to hear that our staff was polite and professional, we understand that this does not make up for the overall negative experience you had. We hope you will give us another opportunity to restore your faith in our hotel. If you decide to return, please contact me directly, and I will personally ensure that your stay is exceptional. Thank you once again for your feedback. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the superior experience you deserve. Warm regards,

We had come to trust our Hilton app and HGI's in general to the point that we never really looked at the competition if we could find an HGI close to where we would visit. Just last week we stayed for almost a week at HGI in Charlotte, and it was a great experience.
This time, visiting Nashville for one night, I booked a room at Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Vanderbilt, happily parked in the garage, went inside, had drinks at the bar, breakfast the next morning and all good until I walked into the parking lot to leave, and discovered parking in HGI's garage the night before had cost me $43. I have never paid a fee to park at an HGI, and I am appalled that there was not some major notification that I was going to pay $43 just to stay in their parking lot.
So, unless you are happy paying $43 overnight to stay at HGI Nashville Vanderbilt, I suggest you keep looking.

Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will review our communication methods to ensure that parking fees and other charges are more prominently displayed and discussed with our guests upon arrival. The pricing on the hotel guide on Hilton app is outdated as is the hotel. There was a full kitchen in my 9th floor sweet but zero plates or utensils. So it was useless. There was not a welcome basket in my room or any extras as promised. The “best buffet in Nashville” was just a $19 p/p continental breakfast. Hotel info stated $14.95. It is not valet only hotel but self parking is about the same as valet which is actually $50 a night plus tax cost me $109 to park from 11pm Sunday-8am Monday. That doesn’t include tips. The room was hot, while clean was very outdated. The elevators made a loud knocking sound that kept me awake all night. I’m sure the sound can be heard on all floors. People/staff are very friendly and overall the stay was just fine. I just expect more since I’m a Diamond Honors member.

Dear Tiffany C, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Vanderbilt. We value your input as it helps us to continually improve our services. I apologize for the discrepancies you experienced with our pricing on the Hilton app and for the lack of kitchen utensils in your suite. Your comments have been shared with our management team to ensure that our app and in-room amenities are updated and fully stocked for future guests. I also regret that the welcome basket and extras were not provided as promised. This is not in line with our standards, and we will investigate this oversight to prevent it from happening again. Regarding the breakfast pricing and the noise from the elevators, I understand how frustrating these issues must have been. We will review our breakfast options to ensure they meet our guests' expectations and address the elevator noise promptly. I'm sorry for any inconvenience you encountered with the parking fees. We strive to provide clear and accurate information, and your feedback will help us make necessary adjustments. There were no issues with our room. It was clean and comfortable. All the staff spoke to us and were very cordial. The front desk staff always seem to be in a good mood and the housekeeping staff all said hello. My only issue was the breakfast. Of course it is a Hilton Garden so breakfast is not free, but the bare minimum continental was a little skimpy for $10.

My wife was in the hospital, my daughter and I needed to get a room. We were SHOCKED to learn parking was $40 per night!!! The hospital doesn't charge for parking! The $10 vouchers weren't much help when breakfast was $20+ per person. We are loyal Hilton fans, but this hotel is not one we will return to.

We had a wonderful trip in general but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was clean and location was good. Front desk and shuttle staff were very nice.

You have to schedule room cleaning services. We scheduled twice but both times our room was not serviced (trash still there, dirty towels still there, bed sheets not cleaned, etc) both times I called the front desk. The first time they brought us towels and told us if we wanted our bedsheets changed we’d have to do it ourselves. The staff scheduled our cleaning for the next day but it didn’t happen either.. The second time they quickly brought us towels and trash bags. You put your own trash in the hallways so you will see other peoples trash/pizza boxes etc. we had quite the collection of dirty towels.. we were really disappointed that even after missing the first cleaning, the second one was missed as well. We went to the front desk for cups for coffee due to ours being out and not replaced.

Shuttle service was good when you could catch it. It was not a consistent schedule like other hotels. Instead of being on the hour/half hour or scheduled trips it was random. When you call the shuttle it will always be 20 minutes away. Other guests had similar issues. We used the shuttle three times and walked or Ubered other times. Self parking was advertised online a little cheaper than it was in the hotel.

Checkout was very fast but I wasn’t given a receipt or summary of charges. They told me it would be emailed.

Not terrible just disappointing. There are daily fees so it’s unfortunate that the shuttle service was inconsistent and cleaning services were unreliable.

This Hotel had red flags before we even got there! What appears on the website is not what you get. I personally would avoid this hotel at all cost. It’s filthy, the employees lie, tell you what you want to hear. Breakfast is $20, for a continental breakfast that is free everywhere else! Parking is $50 a day, which is hidden pretty good because everyone checking in had the same complaint. Check in floor is nice, but buckle up buttercups for a trip to the 70’s! Floors are gross on all levels, probably because they are from the 70’s. No hot water, Tolot sits almost to ground. It’s was fire after fire to put out in this nasty hotel with nasty service. The day before we left I was in tears and over this hotel. When I address everything with the manager, well he turned the charm on, nice as can be and said let’s make this right. He said verbatim, “ I am going to give you enough points to have a 2 night stay at any Hilton, MORE LIES!!! I got enough for one night. When I called the manager to tell him this, I was dismissed and issues were forgotten about on his end, nor did he care. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Unfortunately I booked with no cancellation so I had ride this horrible hot mess of a hotel out! Can I also mention refrigerator/ freezer had something unidentified in it, the iron didn’t work, and hair dryer. Please don’t waste your money here nor go thou horrible customer service. It’s just a shame with the name Hilton, they could pricey care less of one customer list. I can only hope and others with read their reviews and move on o another hotel. Not only does this hotel need remodeling, The employees could use done training how to treat customers. I was going to give them another try with 2 night stay, then post a review, but since I was manipulated with false promises, everything went unnoticed….. they never really cared. Rude Manager across the board on so many levels. Do yourself a favor and run as fast as you can from here🤬

We do not have a clue about this. However, we had a very bad experience with this hotel. They add bogus charges after you go to check out. They charge you $32 per night for parking plus taxes on it they do not tell you about until you are checking out. By then you cannot back out of the charges. Save your money and go somewhere better.
