At Moxy Nashville Downtown, guests have encountered a mixed bag when it comes to service, with some finding the staff friendly and others less accommodating. The hotel's prime location earns praise for its proximity to local attractions, yet many travelers feel the overall value is diminished by steep parking fees and underwhelming room features. While the lively atmosphere with live music is a highlight for some, issues with cleanliness and noise have marred the experience for others. The rooftop bar and inclusive vibe are positives, but small room sizes and housekeeping inconsistencies are drawbacks that guests have called out.

Book this motel for the weekend for my wife’s birthday. It is in a great location right in the middle of everything and within walking distance of everything. The hotel was reasonably priced for the location and it was clean. There were only a couple of things that kept me from rating it higher.
1. Upon checking in you have to fight and walk to the bar which is next to the door in the lobby to check in. While checking in you cannot hear what they are asking because of the noise.

2. When you enter and exited the hotel you have to walk through the crowed bar area to get to the elevators to go up to your room.

3. VERY POOR customer service, the first night there we ask for two extra pillows, the bar tender - housing keeping- clerk, who said he was there by himself would get us some pillows up to our room as soon as he could. The next morning around 11:00 we were leaving to go walk around town and stopped by the bar, which is also the customer service / check in area and spoke to the bar tender about getting two extra pillows. He look at a storage area near the bar and said he would have to get some from upstairs, but would have them left in our room.

Guess what it has been a week and we still have not seen any pillows.

4. The last thing was when we check in we were directed to a parking structure a block away and were told to go online and put in our information for the hotel promo and the cost for our stay should be around $20. We followed the directions prepaid for the parking. Then when we checked out it still cost us $80 dollars to get out of the parking garage and you had to use a credit car before you could get out. We stopped back by the motel to complete our check and we were told by the bar tender the hotel had nothing to do with the parking that we had to speak to the guy over the parking garage. We call about our parking issue and was told our $80 dollars would be refunded. Guess what still waiting on that refund too.

I would stay here again, because it is clean and close to everything. But I know what to expect too.

This hotel is half a block off Broadway (i.e. all the bars, restaurants and live music) but we really didn't hear too much of the noise from Broadway. The hotel room/hallways were much more quiet than we expected, given the location. The staff was friendly and helpful. In the room we had, there was no safe or refrigerator. There are two main drawbacks to staying at the Moxy. 1. The check-in desk is also the bar, and there is live music in the lobby. So it can be hard to converse with the front desk clerk (who is also the bartender) and you might need to wait for him/her to finish serving people at the bar. 2. The bathroom in the room (we had a single queen) was HORRIBLY designed and would make me not stay there again. The shower has a permanent half-glass wall. It needs to extend another 6 inches because the water splattered all over the bathroom floor. There is no hook within reach to hang your towel so you have to put it on the sink's counter. There is a really helpful shelf over the sink to put your toiletries - but the shelf extends too far forward, so that if you want to wash your face (cupping your hands to get water to splash your face), you can't get your face close enough and end up splashing your face over the counter/floor and not over the sink, making a huge mess. Last, the toilet paper holder is too far back and not within natural reach, which doesn't make any sense.

First time to Nashville so we booked this hotel on recommendation of friends who have stayed here often…without doing our own research. There is much to like about it, but it is definitely not for everyone. The Moxy is very European…hip but austere. No drawers or closets in the room….instead there are pegs on the wall to hang things. Ok if you are staying a day or two, but we were staying 5 days and I was unsettled by this. Some of the rooms have no windows, so be sure to request one with if you, like me, cannot exist in a windowless room. But if you have a window room and are a light sleeper, be aware you will be hearing loud music until the early morning hours. There are bars across the street and adjacent and you are steps away from the heart of Broadway….which makes it a great location if you plan to be out drinking all night and want to just fall into your hotel. Some noticeable (and for me problematic) absences: no body lotion, other toiletries, clocks, water bottles, or coffee maker in the room (you have to go down to the lobby for coffee, available only during limited morning hours.) There is, however, a fantastic restaurant for dinner on the 5th floor, with an elegant bar (menu posted in elevators), service is great and the chef comes out to greet you. The food is wonderful (recommended: the chicken and salmon dishes). There is also a bar and lounge area when you walk in (check in is at the bar). There is fabulous music everywhere on Broadway, but sadly the music at the Moxy is an aberration…so go elsewhere.
As stated, not for everyone…and on my next trip not for me. For the price (which is quite high) it just is not worth it…even to be close to Broadway. Next time I will book the Hilton (also close to Broadway).

The good: This hotel is located in the best part of of downtown Nashville where all of the best attractions, restaurants & clubs are. The hotel is clean and new. The bed was comfortable. You had to scan your key to make the elevator work which was good security for the upper floors. Good restaurants are close by. The lobby bar seemed nice.

The Bad: The noise factor all afternoon & evening is super loud and you can hear it in every room in the hotel until very very late at night, weekdays and weekends both. I have been staying in Marriott properties for 30 years and have never seen any property like this before. Marriott company obviously got sucked in by a way over paid & inexperienced, wild visioned designer. The room had nothing but a bed..... no dresser, no desk, no closet, no surface to put any bags or belongings. It felt like staying in someones closet. The bathroom has a 4 foot square window into the bedroom. Anyone going to the bathroom during the night wakes up the other person because the bathroom light make the bedroom very bright when turned on. There is no shower curtain in the shower so the floor gets wet when someone uses it. The sink has a tiny space on each side to lay your necessities. It is the most inconvenient room I have ever stayed in. The room door also has a large frosted glass window in it. You can see and hear anyone that is in the hall all night. I'm sad a class company like Marriott has allowed this to happen. One of their executives needs to come spend the night here! There is also no food or free coffee in the morning.

The Ugly: The ceiling is unfinished. When you wake up you see unfinished beams and the cement floor of the room above you. The valet parking was $42 per day. I have always liked Marriott owned hotels but I would never consider staying in this one again.

Every time I travel I always stay in Moxy hotel and my stays has always been exceptional. It’s my first time staying in Moxy Nashville for 2 nights, it’s an unplanned trip so I forgot some of my hygienic items. On my first night, I called the front desk to ask if they have a toothpaste and he told me to grab it downstairs at the desk (I understand since it’s pandemic). So, I went down to grab it and he said that they’re out of toothpaste and told me to buy in a Dollar store instead (why would I go out when it was already midnight just to buy a toothpaste?). He should have double check it first before I go down.
The next morning, I saw a housekeeper and tried to ask again for a toothpaste and she gave me not just a toothpaste but a dental kit . So, it turns out that they’re not really “out of stock”I guess he’s just too lazy to grab some in the storage. On my 2nd night, I went down again to ask for a lotion and unfortunately they’re “out of lotion”. So after that I didn’t bother to ask anything else.
This is my first time staying in a hotel that has no toothpaste and lotion which are the basic needs of a guest in a hotel. Just the lil things that made me doubt to stay here again.

Fundamentally this hotel is for partying. Should have been obvious given the location—but do not come here if you want a quiet room or a good nights sleep. If you’re planning to go honky tonk hopping on Broadway until the wee hours, you will love this location and the vibe.

The staff was as accommodating as possible given the hordes of drunken revelers in the lobby and in the street outside, and the valet was courteous and efficient.

The hotel itself is quirky and cool. No closets—hang your clothes on pegboards on the wall. Similarly, if you want a table, it’s folded up and hanging on the pegboards—help yourself! Very clean.

Fluffy towel index: 5 out of 10.

Marriott has hit a new low in the "let's save money on construction and maintenance while trying to be hip and trendy" category.

First, I'll start with the positives: the bed in my room was very comfortable. The location is amazing, right in the middle of all of the nightlife, restaurants, bars and attractions of downtown Nashville. If you're in town to party and can sleep through anything, this might be a good choice for you.

The cons: the wall between my room and the hallway, and the TV mounted on it, visibly shook whenever the door to the room next to mine closed. Think of being in a van with someone shaking it from the outside. Needless to say, that wall didn't provide much in the way of keeping out hallway noise. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a window between the bedroom and the bathroom, and another window in the door to the hall. Who thought either of these were a good idea? Bring an eyemask because there's no possible way to get the room dark. My room was in a category called "windowless" - as in, no window of any kind to the outside to let natural light in. In my hometown, this is against building code for a residential building (I can't speak to Nashville hotel building code but it's certainly not a desirable room feature). The lighting in the fitness center is so poor that people were using the flashlights on their phones to determine how many pounds the dumbbells were. During happy hour in the lobby bar, huge amounts of water started falling from the ceiling - like someone had stuck a garden hose in the rafters and turned it on. The bartenders were good natured and, as if on cue, brought out two enormous buckets and a "don't slip" sign.

Summary: great location, but the property is a mess.

Had a great 3 day weekend at The Moxy Nashville over Valentines Day! The hotel is located 50 steps off of Broadway .... across the street from the Johnny Cash Museum. The hotel has only been open for 5 months. The decor is cool..... checkin is at the hotel
Bar! The rooms were very quiet and our room had great view of the lower end of broadway and Nissan Stadium. The staff is very friendly .... shout out to the manager Phil, who was very attentive to our needs and shared a lot of the history of the building! We will definitely be back to Nashville and can’t imagine staying anywhere but The Moxy.

OK, so let me start with LOCATION was everything. In the heart of downtown and steps away from Broadway (where all the bars and shops are) and 2 blocks away from the river. The Moxy is literally walking (or stumbling) distance from everything. You check in at the bar, which is kinda hip, you get a free welcome drink (a bud light or a nasty cup of liquid sugar with a paper straw). When we got to our very very tiny interior style room with NO windows, I was a little caught off guard. The room was cute, barebones with a TV and folded table and chairs, it had a real guitar on the wall you could pull off and play. The bathroom was cute, but has a sliding door that you could see through the edging (imagine: sitting on the toilet and your roommate walks by and you exchange an awkward eye contact and smile) . They have their own brand of body products and it smells just like the terrible drink you got for free at the bar "the moxy"... Other than that the hotel itself was pretty modern and stylish. New York City sleek... The upside of no windows is no outside noise. They actually had pretty decently price parking too, just a couple blocks away in a structure. It's COVID times, so make sure you look into Nashville before taking your trip, the bars all closed at 10 PM when we were in town. Oh! they also had live entertainment in the lobby...

While the design of the hotel room is attractive and efficient for its size, and we were delighted by the talent of the live musicians who played in the lobby most of the day, the rest of the experience could have been better. We knew that the noise from Lower Broadway might have seeped through the walls due to the location (it's a very convenient location!) but it was quite loud until 3am, even on a Monday. The construction on the building right next door also started with a bang at the stroke of 6am. Not begrudging the hotel for this, actually, as I could have done my due diligence to inquire about construction and ask for a quiet room. My main complaint is about the staff. Pretty much everyone we encountered who worked at the front desk / bar looked like they wished they were anywhere else and made you feel like you were bothering them by being there. We tried to joke with the staff or get them to warm up and it was met with blank stares. When trying to pay for 2 bottles of water from the market, we had to beg their attention to ring us up (and then were charged a great deal for them, as expected.) I also noticed at check out that we were double-charged for the valet, but they corrected that right away. (Review your folios, people.) Bottom line is that if we had wanted something more than a place to put our luggage and sleep for a few (I mean few) hours while exploring the city, we would have done better to pay a little more for another place that places more emphasis on hospitality.
