We spent four wonderful nights at the Caroline House and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very personal, unique and Nashville-centric experience.
Our host was very helpful and informative about the home as well as everything about Nashville. The house dog Desti was sweet and very calm and affectionate.
We loved everything about the Caroline House, including its location in a beautiful and friendly neighborhood. We look forward to staying there again soon.
Our room was spacious, with a large bathroom and walk-in closet. Beautiful views of the neighbors’ trees and houses from the windows. Very comfortable bed and high-end linens.
WalkabilityThe Caroline House is within just a few blocks of both the 12 South and 8 South areas, which have a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops.

This was our first trip to Nashville and I am so pleased we found the Caroline house. It has been perfectly remodeled into a BNB while respecting the Architectural elements from the 1920s. The furnishings tastefully respect that same time period. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The shower was five star! Delicious breakfast was a short walk away To a nice local eatery. We Enjoyed both of the lovely porches. The grounds are well kept and the house immaculate. We found the Caroline to be convenient to everywhere Nashville via an inexpensive Uber. Michael was a present and attentive host. We will definitely stay at the Caroline house on our next trip to Nashville.

I cannot recommend this B&B enough!! It was my first time staying here & my room was beautifully appointed! The room was also cleaned every day & every night there was a little treat of yummy cookies, delicious chocolate or a bottle of bubbles to enjoy for the whole house!
Lots of communication on how to check in, check out & ideas for places to visit! Truly liked staying in a good friends home.

We loved our stay at the Caroline House Historic Inn. It is the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The house itself has a historic look and feel but with all the modern conveniences. In addition to being immaculately kept, it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The communication before, during and after our stay was great and they even went out of make things easier for us when we arrived to Nashville. Our hosts were amazing and took the time out to talk to us and really get to know us. Teresa was exceptionally personable and made great suggestions based on the things she learned about us. They make you feel like you are staying with family. We loved that they provided breakfast vouchers to different local places for each day of our stay. The 12 South neighborhood has a ton of great restaurants and boutiques, all within walking distance of the house. The overall vibe of the area was fun, festive and upbeat. Because it was pretty cold while we were there, we used Uber, which was very inexpensive at less than $6 for most all of our rides, including to downtown. This trip was a late celebration of our 15 year anniversary and I can honestly say that staying at the Caroline House Historic Inn made it very special. We will definitely be back and hope to bring some of the friends we regularly travel with next time.

Our family just returned from a delightful 4 night stay at the Caroline House. From the moment we walked into the front door, we felt welcomed and relaxed. It turned out to be a cold spring break for us, but Michael was readily available to assist us in deciding indoor options of things we could do.

We absolutely loved all of the options included in our breakfast tour, as well as Michael's dinner/bar recommendations (Taproom, TinRoof, Bottle Cap).

Our rooms were inviting and comfortable. The beds were draped in luxurious bedding and extremely comfortable which gave us restful nights. We stayed in the Rose Room and our adult kids enjoyed the large Old Coal Room Studio.

The location was perfect with easy access to downtown Nashville and to 12 South, with its numerous restaurant options and shopping.

We would highly recommend the Caroline House for anyone visiting Nashville!

We had a nice stay! Good communication before arrival. We were able to check in early. We were greeted as soon as we pulled up and got a little “orientation” along with an offer for a glass of champagne. The house is cute, very clean and cozy. Room was on the small side but with nice amenities. The bed/bedding and pillows were very nice and comfy. Desty the dog is the sweetest girl! The location gave us the option to walk to Geodis Park for a concert. It’s about a 30 minute walk down Craigshead which is a busy street but better than dealing with parking and traffic. Downtown Nashville is a 10 minute drive. You can walk to cafes near the house and a Publix at the end of the street. Our stay was during a “back to school” promo rate of 300.00. Looks like the normal rate is closer to 400.00 which I think might be a little high for this property since they don’t actually serve a hot breakfast. They give a voucher for breakfast somewhere in the neighborhood which I actually think is brilliant from the Inn Owners perspective but it requires a little more effort on the guest’s part. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Hi Ms. Wendy! We are so glad you all had a comfortable stay and that the location was convenient. We certainly appreciate your perspective on our “Local Neighborhood Breakfast Tour” and only wish you could have stayed for more than one night so you could truly experience it. Guests say they love exploring the neighborhood and trying out breakfast at a different site each day, they love being able to be on their own schedule and go at whatever they time their little heart desires, and they love the fact we are supporting local neighborhood businesses! Most importantly, our local chefs work hard to curate a tasty menu, all while accommodating those with special dietary restrictions or special dietary preferences. With that, even though many guests rave about the tour, we realize it’s not gonna be everyone’s “cup of tea”, which is the reason we make a lot of effort to ensure everyone is aware of this arrangement prior to confirming a reservation with us. As for the room rate, the travel industry rates our Boutique Luxury Inn on par with 4-star hotels in our market, but our rates can be anywhere from 30-50% less than comparable properties located within a two mile radius of us. It sounds like your concern was mostly the breakfast routine and I totally understand that. Our hope and goal is to provide an overall best value possible to our guests with many complimentary extras and an authentic local experience. Best wishes for smooth future travels, and from a 7th generation Nashville native, thank you for visiting Music City. We hope you enjoyed the concert.

First, I would like to thank Michael and Ashley for their hospitality, and the way we were taken care of during our stay. The Caroline House was just perfect for our requirements. We really enjoyed the breakfast adventures each morning, and all of the included breakfast spots were very obliging and accepting of our Caroline House breakfast cards. The house was very clean and well supplied with linens and bath accessories. The rooms were spacious and included robes for each of us, and a safe for valuables. I could not think of anything I could need that was not available on site. The weather was a little dreary during our stay but we enjoyed lounging on the back porch and warming by the brick fireplace. The Caroline House was in a very quiet and well kept neighborhood, convenient to some great dining spots, Belmont University and Vanderbilt, and also just a short 10 minute drive to the downtown area. Overall I would rate it among the best of the B&B stays that I have experienced.

This is a beautiful house that is very well maintained and loved. The host Michael was accommodating at every level. Breakfast is unique as you are given a voucher card for breakfast at a delicious local restaurant. Normally it is for one entree and one drink. The house is on a beautiful quiet street near Hattie B’s and other restaurants. It’s right off the freeway for easy trips to downtown as well. FYI. Because this is a very old house, the locks to rooms are no longer used as the original skeleton keys would be hard to replace. The house has security cameras both in and outside as well as an easy touch pad lock to come and go out the front door. We would stay here again for sure.

The hosts, Michael and Ashley, were great. The communication was at a high-level, and they’re just really nice people to get to know. Always there if you need anything. Their lovely B&B is located in the 12 S. neighborhood which is very quaint with lots of restaurants, shops and a neighborhood park nearby. Our main floor bedroom, with antique furniture, was very comfortable with a beautiful and spacious en-suite bathroom. We really appreciated all of the recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Between activities, we enjoyed the outdoor spaces including the rocking chairs on the front porch, the patio out back with a comfy couch and Adirondack chairs under mature trees. They help support the local businesses by giving you vouchers to go to different restaurants for breakfast every morning.
It’s a quick and inexpensive ride share to downtown and other points of interest. No reason to have a rental car unless you plan on traveling far out from the city. Highly recommend staying here for your next visit to Nashville

First time in Nashville and Michael was the perfect host! (we did not meet Ashley while we stayed) Gorgeous home in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Caroline house was decorated beautifully, clean and very spacious. The bedrooms are a good size all with private baths. Very comfortable beds and linens. Sat outside on the front porch on a beautiful sunny day and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Our breakfast vouchers were within walking distance. Quick Uber rides to Broadway St (where all the bars and musicians are) around $8-$12 per couple one way. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay at Caroline’s House next time we visit Nashville.

Thanks for the interest in our property. Our historic property was built in 1921, when the largest bed that existed was a full size. That’s amazing yo think about that really. In any case, as a result our suites are configured to most comfortably accommodate all Queen sized beds. Our reservation line is 615-879-9551. Thanks so much and hope to host you soon!

Hi there! The Caroline House Nashville is about 2 1/2 miles from downtown, or a short $6-$8 Uber ride. It is also located in the city's mist desired walk-able neighborhood, 12South, with restaurants, craft cocktails, and boutique shopping within blocks. A beautiful Inn with Southern hospitality in a fabulous location!

Hi there! We do not invite pets to visit the property, however, we do have a furry hostess, a golden retriever, who shares her backyard with our guests. She is occasionally invited into the main living area by a guest but for the most part she is not hang out in the main Inn.
