The Hampton Inn Vanderbilt Nashville hotel is located just minutes from the heart of downtown Nashville, Tennessee in the University Area on West End Avenue. This central location provides easy access to colleges, universities, hospitals and many corporate offices. The Nashville International Airport (BNA) is just eight miles away. Vanderbilt and Belmont University are in the immediate proximity of this upscale 6-story Make It Hampton (TM) hotel. There are over 50 restaurants within a 1-mile radius of our hotel, many of which deliver. One of Nashville's best Italian restaurants, Amerigo, is directly across the street and out the front door. Our Hampton Inn Vanderbilt hotel features 169 amenity-filled hotel rooms which include a coffeemaker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and local phone calls, cable TV, and of course the clean and fresh Hampton bed(R). Hotel guests can request connecting rooms, cribs, refrigerators or rollaway beds.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed at this Hampton Inn as part of the Hilton Honors Rewards program. It was a fair deal for the daily rate vs. the quality of the hotel. The hotel is in a good location for a quick drive a few miles from Broadway where all the action is. It's also within walking distance of many restaurants. There are the chain type ones in front and the quirky fun ones behind back. My only complaint about this hotel was the level of humidity in the room. We went in July, so it was very humid outside, with daily showers, however, this room was very wet. The carpet felt damp, we left a cookie on the table and it was mushy wet the next morning. There was no way my swimsuit was ever going to dry (but the pool was nice). We did not make a complaint or ask for a room change since we were only there a few days and it was so humid out. Other than that, the place was as expected. The breakfast is in the basement area and was well stocked. One nice little touch, they had paper plates and napkins and carry out pizza menus at the front counter.

If you're going to anything near Vanderbilt University, this hotel is perfect. I attended a workshop at The Graduate across the street. A quick taxi ride takes you downtown. You could walk, too, in about a half hour. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the breakfast buffet has many choices.

Went to Nashville with an old military buddy just to check out Nashville. We came during the week hoping the crowds wouldn't be too much. We drove around and then got something to eat and saw this hotel which is very convenient to all the "sights". I called and made a reservation for the night, and based on the prices for similar hotels in the area we figured this would be ok due to the location.
As far as appearance it's an average Hampton Inn, the lobby area is nicer than some. We paid (before tax, parking, etc) about $155 for a weeknight, after taxes and parking $225 (parking fee is hideous but it's a relatively short walk to the touristy area.)
The room was average, no frills but clean.
The one surprise was the morning continental breakfast wad better appointed than breakfast offerings, and I was very pleasantly surprised at all they had to offer. The food tasted fresh and good, and the juices, milk, coffee etc were all also fresh and good. The breakfast alone gave this review a star on its own.
There are other cheaper hotel options around, but for a couple old military buddies doing some touristy junk it was all we needed.
Parking is CRAMPED but there are plenty of spots so if you're in a big car or truck/van be prepared to do some squeezing!
Service is average, nobody cares anymore they're all scrolling on their phones or talking to co-workers or something so to even complain about it is not worth your breath, just deal with the lack of professionalism and move on.

Obviously there are many choices in Nashville for hotels, and being HHonors members for over a decade, we chose to stay in 1 of their lodgings based on price, and distance from Downtown.
Stayed for 4 nights, but was willing to kill the stay after 1 night, but spouse said it was just too inconvenient to move hotels. Everything from the exterior, interior of the building, is just neglected. Be it trash, cleaning, and just doing maintenance like replacing the lights in the Hampton Inn sign that is outside, and that was never illuminated at night. Carpets throughout need to be seriously cleaned/replaced, and the owners need to have some pride in the facility.
Tried to get daily room service. Notified front desk, and that we wanted more than 2 towels a day. None of the happened. We had to call, and when that failed, I had to walk down at 7 pm after being out all day, to ask the front desk for clean towels.
Fridge in room kept freezing everything, fruit, milk, water. Turned it to the minimum. No change. Fruit was ruined, and milk was pretty much done too. Reported this, and Maintenance guy came up, unplugged it, and said to check in a few hours. Yeah, right!
Maids did not understand English either, so asking them for anything was pointless. Talking with the front desk was bordering contemptuous, civil, but that was about it.
For $200 a night, there are other options, and even you choose to add another $50 a night, the cost will save you the experience we had.

My mom and I stayed at this hotel because it was close to Vanderbilt since we were in the area for an appointment. There were some eating places in the area that were in walking distance which was nice if you wanted to get out and walk around. The pool was open, was well as the fitness center, and they did serve breakfast as well. We did utilize the fitness center, and they did have some towels to use during your workout, however they were out of sanitizing wipes to wipe down the equipment before and after using them. One of the treadmills that I tried the speed wouldn't go past 1.0 .The room we had was nice, but a little dated and you could definitely tell that there were some dinks on the wood on the sink vanity in the bathroom and there were a couple of strips of blue painters tape on the top corner of our bathroom mirror, and you could definitely tell that inside the closet there was some water damage to the back wall at the bottom of the closet in our room. The place were we had breakfast was in the basement along with the fitness center and the guest laundry. At this particular property there is a $20 a day fee for parking. The hotel did offer a shuttle that went within a two mile radius of the hotel which we had utilized. Unfortunately the gentleman that was our driver during our visit was unprofessional by being on his phone talking the entire time of our ride to our destination, and when he came to pick us up he didn't come to the correct entrance after we called him the first time to pick us up, and we in turn waited an hour. On our way back to the hotel there was a couple sitting in front of us and she asked him a question about a local university and he responded to her very sharply to her. The ladies at the desk were nice and Brittany was definitely helpful when we checked out as well as the manager Ryan when we had informed him about the shuttle driver.

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past several years while visiting Vanderbuilt hospital. This hotel has gone down hill very fast. Our room was so humid and wet. It smelled horrible. There was mold and rust everywhere. We asked to move rooms and were told they only had one hope. That room was worse than yeh one we were in. The manager on duty came in and sprayed a air freshener which helped none. The ac did not work. We had to prop the hallway door open just to get some drier air. The breakfast did not exist.. they had no coffee and suggested we use the coffee maker in the room that had mold inside it. Do not stay here.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. The hotel was run down with caution tape over many doors, entrances, and benches. The walls are so thin you can hear everyone’s conversations in the next room. At 2am the room next to us was so loud coming in from a night of drinking. I called the desk several times and it just rang and rang and went unanswered. Texted the phone number to the front desk and no one ever responded. Not sure what/where the front desk clerk was, but they were nowhere to be found. Additionally, the hotel charges $25 per night for parking for a small lot that can’t accommodate the hotel guests so you have to end up parking on the street. You would think the hotel would be providing security for the parking lot since you are getting charged a fee, but nope. One night several vehicles were broken into. The front desk staff is rude and unwelcoming and spent more time conversing with their friends that were just there hanging out rather then paying attention to the guests. Sent an email to the manager Paul Ankuda and Mark Birdsong asking for a refund for our last night since no one was at the front desk to handle the loud and obnoxious room next to us and have yet to hear back.
Warning you now, do not stay here

Worst Hilton property ever! Arrived to empty tissue box & only partial roll of toilet paper ( situation resolved). Patrons are required to ask for clean towels etc instead of daily room cleaning. toilet too low, br mirror poorly mounted & br door too old & warped to close or open properly. Tiny closet ( no light). BUT towels soft& employees pleasant. Our stay paid for with points . We always use Hilton properties but all are better than this. Refrigerator in room a plus. No bar soap or paper to write on or towel hook on back of br door (broken off).

This is a hotel with a great location in Nashville. Lots of restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel itself is older and badly needs updating. The carpets in the common areas could use replacement. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Good bedding and nice towels in the bathroom whe you get them. The cooling system is OK. Two problems with this hotel: Your room is only cleaned and fresh linens are only supplied every OTHER day. If I am paying full price every day, I expect a clean, made up room with fresh towels every day. The second problem is that there are no USB plugs in the rooms. Very Outdated! The breakfast served is hot and has a good variety of foods. The staff is pleasant and attentive to requests. Pricing is only fair.

Agree with above responses. They try hard to accommodate your requests but previous night's occupancy is the determining factor as to when rooms are ready.
