I stayed at Westgate Lodging for two summers, from June to September 2015 and May to August 2016. Both times, my one-bedroom apartment (unit 101G) was in immaculate condition. The staff, both managers and housekeeping, were extremely friendly and made me right at home. The courtyard and grounds are well maintained and landscaped with an attractive outdoor pool area. You cannot beat the price if you think about that pretty much everything is included like cable, phone, internet/wifi, laundry facilities, furniture, housekeeping and more. This was one of the main reasons for me to choose this place since I temporarily moved to Oak Ridge from Germany for two summer internships. Gary and Cindy were always very helpful. We stayed 2 weeks and found our accommodations were comfortable and very clean! The courtyard and grounds are well maintained and landscaped with an attractive pool. I cannot say enough about how professional and helpful the manager Gary was to our requests. I would highly recommend West Gate!

Stayed here for 4 weeks. Room was in immaculate condition. Staff were extremely friendly and made me right at home. The only issue was faucet starting leaking in tub. Management was notified and maintenance was promptly there to address the issue.
Because I was made to feel welcome and at home at Westgate I will return in the future. I would also recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

This is defiantly the worst place I have ever stayed. The smell of the apartment when we walked in, I can only describe as walking into a abandoned care home, it stank! The sofa had a huge hole ripped in the side of it, the beds where as hard as slabs of stone, the bathroom floor had human poo on it, when the cleaner come which is only once a week, when the cleaner came we told her bout the poo on the floor and she just shrugged her shoulders, she also only made of the beds and left the bedding for the other bed on the dirty living room carpet. The lounge carpets were dirty, the whole apartment was dusty and we were all sick for the whole holiday, when we went out into the fresh air we seemed to feel better then after each night we would wake up feeling awful. We could't afford to stay in any of the local hotels with it being Christmas otherwise we would of. We would of complained to management but every time we went to the office it was closed, not their fault but just our bad timing with being out all day and the office being open during office hours and closed between the 23rd and 28th. The apartment above us were extremely loud day and night, The staff we came across at the office on our last days didn't bother to ask us how our stay had been and it seemed to be a effort for them to be friendly, I've never looked forward to getting back to the UK so much in my whole life. The swimming pool was dirty, everything was dirty. I don't know how you could rent a apartment out like that to the public, I'd feel embarrassed. Stay somewhere else at all costs if you can. The only positive thing about it was it was so cheap but you can see why.

This is a very surprising review. My husband and I are the Property Managers here at WestGate Lodging and we live onsite. You arrived on December 16th and came in the morning of the 17th to turn in your rental agreement. At that time you were having trouble with connecting your phones to the wifi. Gary, (my co-manager) was out on the property, so I called him while you were standing in the office. He was already near your unit and met you there to help you connect your phones. The rental agreement, you signed and returned, had an after-hours number for you to call if there was a problem. The yellow information sheet that had the wifi code you used, also had the after hours number. On December 30th, you came into our office to ask about check out procedures. Gary and I again spoke with you personally. We asked if everything was okay with your unit and you didn't take that opportunity to tell us about any issues. You also came back in the same day to get change to wash and dry your clothes. Again we spoke and you never had any negative feedback for us. You were aware of our holiday hours, because you asked where to put the key when you departed. We sent out 2 letters reminding everyone of the holiday office hours and that letter also included the after-hours number. When someone checks out of a unit, we have 3 different staff members in that unit before it is rented again. 1. Maintenance checks to make sure everything is working and returns a checklist to management. He also checks the furniture. 2. Housekeeping goes in to strip all linens and clean the unit at which time they report any issues maintenance could have missed. 3. Management walks the unit and performs a quality check. On the day a new guest arrives, there is one more walk to ensure everything is clean and tidy. We take several steps to ensure that we provide the best quality and service possible. In your review you stated you would have complained to management but the office was closed. Yet we talked with you on several occasions and you did not say anything. If the noise above you was bad, we would have handled that immediately had you called the after-hours number or mentioned it when you did talk to us. Our pool does not get covered during the winter. Even though there were some warm days during your stay, the water would have been much too cold to swim. Our Maintenance staff has taken care of this property for many years, and he takes pride in the pool area and the entire property. Again I cannot understand why you did not bring this to our attention when we talked. I am also surprised that your perception of the staff here is of them being rude. We have never received feedback that any of our staff being rude. In fact, we always hear that they are very friendly and that they go above and beyond to make guest happy. As for the staff you encountered on your last days here, at the office, that was me. And I thought we had pleasant small talk. I am surprised at how different our perception of this encounter is. We have very high standards here at WestGate Lodging and what you are describing would never be tolerated by Management or staff. As for the Carpet in our units, they are cleaned professionally several times throughout the year. In between they are spot cleaned by staff. I personally would have had your carpet cleaned if you had called me. Also you describe a terrible smell. I went to this unit to inspect it after reading your review and I don't smell anything. I don't know if maybe it was something a neighbor was cooking or something in the air outside the day you arrived. But again, if you would have let me know, I would have found out and we would have come up with a solution to your issues. There was an issue however that you did not mention. The lady, with your party, reported a leaking toilet to the housekeepers. The housekeepers called Maintenance and he came right over to check on this issue. This issue was resolved the same day. We keep detailed records of every issue. Housekeeping and Maintenance report any and all issues to Management so that we can make sure everything is followed up on and taken care of. This one issue being taken care of in such a timely manner should let you know we would have taken care of any and all issues if someone would have reported them. As the Property Manager, I take even the smallest of complaints seriously. I cannot however take care of issues if I am not aware of them. If you would have told me about any of the issues you mentioned, I would have personally taken care of you and made sure you were comfortable. I would have moved you to a different unit. We are not a hotel but we do offer short term rentals. We do not provide daily housekeeping. We provide weekly housekeeping. This information is included in the rental agreement. This allows us to rent our guest an entire apartment for the price of a hotel room. Our guest are a mixture of vacationers, interns, and business travelers. There are several guest who live here. We have the same guests come back time and time again. I am really sorry you were not happy with your visit. But again, I wish you would have told me on the several occasions we spoke. I have spoken with my staff regarding the complaint of human waste being on the bathroom floor. They all deny any complaint being made to them regarding this. Please call me with a description of this housekeeper. If you, in fact made a complaint to any of my staff and I wasn't notified, I need to know who that Staff Member is. 1. BLACK MOLD coming from the HVAC vents in the ceiling. The HVAC ductwork need to be cleaned or replaced. The documents with the room indicate "furnace filters changed weekly" which is useless, the filter is in the ceiling and contaminants such as the layer of fluffy stuff built up on the kitchen cabinet corner will not be drawn up to the ceiling to be trapped in the filter. The filters are cheap, thin fiberglass and do nothing to deal with the filthy ductwork.
2. Filthy LR carpet, stained, food or other debris under the coffee table.
3. Smelled old musty cigarette smoke. The Staff are smokers and probably don't notice it. Opened the two windows for ventilation, no screens in the windows.

Dave, As the Property Manager here, I am sorry that my efforts to reach out to you personally and not charging you for your stay were not well received. On rare occasion, when we do receive a complaint, it is our policy to make things right immediately. I wish you would have called the emergency number provided so we could have offered you an upgraded unit and solved your issues the same night you arrived. While we are not a hotel, we offer a more personal and home-like stay. Your email to me stated that you noticed these issues the afternoon you arrived, yet you did not inform us until after your departure. I do want to respond to your complaints. 1. The black dust that you are referring to as black mold, was in fact dust. We would never take this complaint lightly and did follow-up to make sure it was not mold. The paperwork you are referring to regarding the air filters states "Third Monday of each month" which means the filters are changed monthly not weekly. These are the same standard filters used in most hotels. We have several tenants who live here full time and have severe allergies, and they report having no issues. However we are sorry the vent covers on the ceiling were not cleaned to your satisfaction. We do deep clean our air vents and ducts quarterly. 2. We recently had the carpet in this Unit cleaned. 3.In the information sheet you referred to earlier, you should have seen we have a strict no smoking policy inside our units. Yes we have staff members that smoke, but not inside the buildings. When a smoker does not smoke indoors, they can smell cigarette smoke in a unit. Any guest found violating this policy is charged a sanitation/cleaning fee. We use that fee to have the Unit cleaned and deodorized. I check my email from home and received your email on Saturday at 3:00pm. Myself and another manager (non smoker) went to the room right away. Neither of us could smell the smell you are describing. Guest do smoke outside the Units so I am sure there are times leaving and entering the unit, you could smell smoke outside. As for the screens, We have several Units we are in the process of replacing the screens on. I am very sorry we were not able to make you happy. Looking at your other reviews, I can see you have very high standards for the places you stay. This was our first trip to the area and couldn't have picked a better place to stay! The most friendliest staff and management ever! This property is very well maintained and the court yard/ pool area is so pretty and relaxing. Wasn't like a hotel atmosphere , more like a home away from home. The rooms are very clean!!!!!! To me, cleanliness is a must and we were much satisfied ! Looking forward to our next stay with Westgate Lodging in Oakridge! 😊🌞😊

We've been in these parts of Tennessee before which made our decision easier to choose this place. We didn't want a hotel...motel...we wanted security, privacy and cleanliness. We got that and more. This is 4 separate buildings each with 2 floors of apartments that accommodate long or short term residents with your own apartment. You choose the size/model...each has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room. Everything is included. In the center of the buildings is a inground pool....bbq grills.....chairs and beautiful landscaping. The grounds are well kept. Laundry on site. Maintenance man and managers as well. The rates are so reasonable! Not far from great motorcycling roads like the Dragon and the Smoky Mountains.

There is no place like this. You can stay a day, a week, a month or longer, and you can't beat the price when you consider it includes pretty much everything you need like cable, phone, internet/wifi, laundry facilities, furniture, housekeeping and more. The new managers Gary and Cindy get things done and the housekeeping staff are great.
I highly recommend stopping by and taking a look and I'd not hesitate to recommend West Gate to family and friends visiting- in fact, I have.

I was between housing, waiting to close on a new-to-me house and sell my old one, and this place fit the bill perfectly. It is an extended stay place, I think the minimum stay is 5 or 7 days. I ended up extending my stay twice, they were very accommodating to my up in the air schedule. Ditto what Jessica G says, this is the best value in the area, reasonably priced and good furnishings. Free wifi internet, kitchen, dishes/silverware, etc… everything you need to be quite comfortable. Charcoal grills poolside! I would definitely recommend and stay again if the need arises. On the quiet end of a quiet town, but only about 20 mins to the Turkey Creek area. Oak Ridge has everything you need though, including a bookstore, Kroger Super Store, Wal Mart, and some great places to eat including Aubreys, Deans, Hacienda Delgollado and Saigon #1 noodle shop!

I have no idea what the bad reviewers were talking about. I moved in here 15 months ago, expecting to only stay a couple of months but I soon found that I had no reason to move. I won't be here forever but I'm in no hurry to leave. I havent seen all the apartments here but I've lived in two of them and have seen the inside of a few others. I've never had a problem parking and the lots are well lit...any more and people would complain about too much light at night. Ive never seen drunks (drinking maybe but not "Drunks) around the pool or anywhere else and rarely are there children. My linens are changed weekly and are always clean and fresh. The housekeepers and all the staff are friendly and are not allowed to touch anything that belongs to a tenant, therefore they might have to clean around your clutter and personal items. This is not a four or five star hotel but it is well maintained and clean (assuming you do your part). The only complaint I agree with is being able to hear noise that an upstairs neighbor makes. I've heard the same kinds of noises in Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn...it is what it is. I enjoy using the Rush fitness Center, good TV and Internet reception, housekeeping services, sparkling clean pool and waterfall, grilling shelter, on site laundry, helpful staff, peaceful, safe, quiet surroundings. Some people look for things to complain about and if you look hard enough you will always find something.
