Don't buy wood from the number. They give you at The office when you Check-in. It's Green.. The trails are numbered real nice but not color you don't know what you're going into.
The map to downlhas has a 2.4 rating. You will be lucky if you can download it.
A paper map you can buy.
To look at at every turn.

I stayed here for two nights while visiting Knoxville and Oak Ridge. They cater to Off Roading enthusiasts, but it worked out nicely for me. They don't have a whole lot of amenities, but they are building a big new building. The Wifi didn't work at my site. Basic but adequate.

We went with a large group, some camped, some stayed in cabins. We stayed in the primitive cabin. It was pricey for what you got. Space included, 4 twin size bunk beds, mini-fridge, microwave, sink and a bathroom. You had to bring your own sheets, toilet paper, towels. And before checking out sweep. The park is beautiful, and well maintained. You also have to purchase permits per person to go on the mountain trails(3 day permit adult $44, kids $22). They only actually checked to see if you had a permit on Saturday. The other days there was no security blocking the path. If I went again I would go with the more furnished cabins, not a lot more price-wise, but you get a lot more.

We had a cabin that was nasty when we checked in. My grandson who is 9 months old can find anything and did he wrappers under everything . The cabin floors where so nasty the whole cabin needed some real cleaning. They charged us extra for the stained up towels that where like that when we got there that is stupid it's a off road park there was a basket that said use these rags to get mud off u but there where no rags in it. The trails where ok it was just awful pricy for everything but camp cabins are a joke for over $200 a night and very disappointed in that part don't care if I go back ever😡😡😡

THis is 99% ATV type crowd. We were rock climbing and tenting
PROS:
- well maintained
- clean bathrooms
- big tent areas
- nice people
- beautiful location
- wifi at office
- good price we paid $16.50
CONS:
- Lots of ATVs noises
- When it rains, look out. We got wiped out by 60mph winds. This place is on the top
of a mountain with no protection
- No water taps, kichen sinks

We have stayed at this campground for the past 3 years and have already made our reservations for next years visit. The bathrooms are very clean and well stocked. The picnic tables are being replaced, and I love the new metal Windrock motif, and the metal fire pit rings. Friendly staff at the check in office.
Our friends stayed in one of the cabins, we all rode trails all day, and had so much fun. Everything you need is right here!

We stayed in the overflow RV camping section, and it was very peaceful. It was a quick and easy walk to the bath houses, the other campers generally respected the 11pm "quiet time", and the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
We were surprised by trash-stealing forest bandits... not raccoons like you might think, but SKUNKS! Lol yes, the park campground has a lot of skunks running around, but they're friendly and keep their distance; they only want to rummage through your trash at night! So if you don't want them to make a mess of your campsite, put your garbage in one of the many critter-proof garbage receptacles around the campgrounds.
The bath houses are really nice... spacious, great water pressure, and clean. My only complaint is that they didn't seem to be climate controlled, which isn't a huge deal but when everyone in there is taking hot showers and it's already hot outside, it turns into quite a steam room, so get ready to sweat while you're in there!
We rode ATV's in the park for 5 days and had a great time. When you head down the trailhead to the general store and giftshop, DO NOT pass up the Chuckwagon Grill! I'll write a separate review for Windrock Park itself and The Chuckwagon Grill, but TRUST ME... if you don't eat at Chuckwagon Grill at least once, you're really missing out!

We had one of our best vacations ever at this place! We stayed there with our RV and ATVs over Memorial Weekend. It was definitely a trip that we will never forget. The weather was perfect. The bathrooms are kept very clean. The staff is super friendly. There are trails for days. We had a blast and will definitely be back! A word to the wise though, bring a dust mask!!!

Did not stay at the campground but did ride two days in the park. Awesome experience!!! Great trails of all levels. Check in for the permits was quick and the cashier staff is very friendly. Nice general store if you need something. I do not know if they offer online do ahead permits but I went in on Saturday to buy another map and it was VERY CROWDED.
Only other recommendation would be laminated maps and maybe food options like what a food truck would have.

My husband and I went to Wind Rock last year because they were holding a huge event for AVTing and we thought we would pack up and go and see what all the hubbub was about.
I have to say the grounds were very clean, the atv trails were a lot of fun and we met some awesome people along the way.
