We stayed at Gaia for six nights after Christmas and over New Year’s as a part of an extended Rainforest and Reef package. It is hard to say just what makes Gaia so special. This small, luxury hotel creates an intimate environment where you feel at home and pampered at the same time. Most importantly, the staff is phenomenal, my husband and I want to thank Lucy, Sam, Freddy, Kobi, and Shawn for making our stay feel so special. Our room was gorgeous, and the grounds of Gaia are breathtaking. The waterfalls on the property are beautiful, and it was very tempting to want lay around and swim at the waterfall all day. My boyfriend and I booked the hotel originally because of the views and mountains, it looked very cool and exactly the quiet getaway we were looking for. But the best part about it was service and all amazing people that took care of us. Nigel and Freddy just couple to mention, but everyone was super professional, and really cared about us having the best time. I was in hospitality industry for a decade and rarely get impressed by service, especially at a small boutique place like that. Fresh fruit cocktails which you don’t see everywhere in Belize, all the food was great and the lunch service by the river is a must! Stayed at Gaia to be closer to the Caracol Mayian site. The lodge sits at the edge of a canyon cut deeply by a river with rapids. Amazing views and an elevator to move between camp and river. The only potential problem for some rooms was the continous sound of the rapids. We found it improved sleep! Organization was smooth, accommodations excellent, restaurant also excellent, and the staff were wonderful. Special thanks to Freddie, Lucy and all staff really for lovely interactions and for organizing a small celebratioon of my partner's birthday. On one of our few rain-free days Rudy lead a fantastic tour focused on Carocol, with stops at a cave likely used for ceremony by Mayan and lovely rapids for swimming. Overall, a great 4 day stay in spite of the unseaasonal rains.

After you navigate the very 'bumpy' and uneven road surfaces to get to Gaia you are welcomed with smiles, eucalyptus scented cold wash cloths and a beverage (with or without alcohol). From there every moment at Gaia will be relaxing with every need taken care of and the most beautiful view on the mainland that we experienced! And with close proximity to ATM, Xunantunich, Barton Creek, San Ignacio, and Guatemala you can experience whatever excursion may suit you. There was not one bad meal or drink that we tried, and we were there for 5 days/4nights...eating only 2 meals off the premises. Freddy, Lucy, Azel, Sean, Kobe, Coco and all the other staff will make you feel right at home.

Excellent customer service from all staff members, GM to grounds keepers. Farm fresh food, very delicious. Amazing views. Ask about the magic show after dinner! Clean and tidy lodging. Enjoyed lunch by the waterfalls. Highly recommend the adventures! The Caracol Tour and the Barton Creek Cave tour with zip lining at Calico Jacks. Gaia is a great place for any occasion but especially a honeymoon! We are as well heading to Matachica (sister lodge) for the second part of our trip. We did the reef and rainforest package. Our stay was incredible. The staff was helpful, very friendly, and were able to address any needs. The meals were divine. The views at dinner can’t be beat, and no better way to fall asleep than hearing the river roar. Can’t wait to come back some day. Couldn’t recommend more.

We stayed four days at the lodge. From the moment we entered to delicious fresh rum bunch, to the epic views of the Five Sisters Falls, our visit was truly memorable. The service was impeccable. We visited Gaïa for our honeymoon and had such a wonderful experience. Our room and the grounds were amazing! We stayed in the Villa which was right on the water with amazing views and lots of privacy. It was so refreshing and relaxing to be surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. The hot tub was also a great added bonus! The staff at Gaïa really takes the experience to the next level. They are all so welcoming, friendly and helpful! From the very first day everyone knew us by name, we felt right at home. During our stay we spent one day on the grounds and another on an off site adventure organized by Gaïa.
