The grounds are beautiful! The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. As a bird watcher, I was thrilled to go on a birdwatching tour and see a keel billed toucan food at the restaurant is fresh and flavorful, with many items from the garden on the grounds. Loved the waterfalls!

Gaia was just what I needed. They do a fabulous job at making things special for you and they go out of their way. Calbert picked us all up and shared a lot about the area. I love learning about the people, history and area. I highly recommend the Mayan ruin tour. I don’t know how Freddy does it, but he remembered all of our first names - love that. Food was great. I was in cascade and loved hearing the water at night.

Great spot for a day or two stopover. I had business in the morning in nearby Belmopan the capital so it was easy to stop in San Ignacio for lunch and then for me and my GF to then head over here to check in and relax for the afternoon and the next morning at the amazing waterfalls/pools + infrastructure/loungers w/the tramline to get to the river easily-there might not be a better set up in Belize as far as a lovely setting. The continental breakfast was top notch but had dinner at the Guatemalan restaurant at nearby Blancaneaux (who's grounds are nice but they don't have anything like the natural falls/pools at Gaia-just a lazy riverside-and it's about double the rate as well) as we wanted some local flavor. Finally, one can't argue w/a mid-week cabana upgrade-mucho gracias! …

My wife and I stayed for a delayed honeymoon around the beginning to mid November of 2022. We got lucky with the weather and it was just the beginning of their busy season, so the lodge was at 50-60% capacity. Immediately we fell in love with the staff. The scenery and views can’t be beat but the staff is just unlike any place we have ever been. We were picked up at the airport, and driven around to all the amazing excursions by Greg. Greg is super cool, knowledgeable, and very proud to call Belize his home. We got to spend every day with Greg and we were so grateful to have him as our guide while at Gaia. I visited Gaïa Riverlodge as part of the Reef and Rainforest package. As a solo traveler, they made me feel very welcome and looked after. The staff was there when I needed them but never hovered. The included excursions were wonderful. I would highly recommend staying at Gaïa and visiting the rainforest while in Belize.

Totally unique with its own kind of magic. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this place and I’ve done a fair amount of traveling. I highly recommend the Gaia, not only for its stunning location but also the for the staff. Nigel runs the show, he’s the kind of guy you feel an immediate kinship with. Freddy set up my partner’s birthday dinner and he did a wonderful job. We spent a day swimming and exploring the waterfalls below the lodge and it was unforgettable. I highly recommend the Gaia.

We recently returned from a wonderful stay at Gaia. My favorite part about this resort is probably the gorgeous, peaceful natural setting. When I first arrived and walked out on to the deck and saw the view of the falls below, my jaw dropped and I was so stunned, I couldn't even here what the friendly staff was telling us. INCREDIBLE! That view never gets old. I wish I could eat every meal with a view like that. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating, the room was lovely (bed was SUPER comfy), the food was wonderful (albeit pricey), the cocktail menu is next level. One highlight for my husband and I during our trip was a MIND-BLOWING magic show performed in the restaurant one night just for us by the talented security guard, Chris. Fantastic hospitality! Super knowledgable guides, Rudy and Isael, took us on amazing excursions and taught us about both the culture and wildlife of Belize. We strongly recommend birding with Isael. Food was superb - all the produce came from their organic garden. The cocktails were so good thanks to all the bar and restaurant staff!!

I will admit the trip miles down the red clay road had us a bit unsure of what we were getting ourselves into but as soon as we pulled down the beautifully manicured entrance our angst disappeared. We were welcomed upon arrival with with an amazing complimentary cocktail an an upgraded room. Attention to detail is unparalleled. The small intimate atmosphere provided such a unique experience - all staff knew our first names and preferences. Our sensations were completely brought to euphoria - between the surreal waterfall mountain view, the sounds of the waterfall and jungle, and the smell of the five star restaurant.
