Overall, this was an incredible experience. The lodge is set in the jungle and feels welcoming from the first minute! We went on the first leg of our #honeymoon here, and would recommend it for anyone! The waterfall hike is wonderful, and the falls are easily accessible by trail and by tram. The resort dog, Coco, is friendly, playful and will take you on either local hike! While we did not get to go on the main cultural outing, Nigel, Colby, Izzy and Greg were helpful in arranging an alternative tour accompanied by some chocolate making! The service was fantastic — Lucy in particular was wonderful. We are not party people or drinkers, so for us it was fine that there was not a late night scene. Gaia Riverlodge was the perfect place to start a honeymoon! The cabanas had gorgeous views and were very romantic and private. The food was outstanding and great value for the cost of the package. Every meal was looking over a waterfall. I have a severe shellfish allergy and they took great care of me! The food was sourced from an on-site garden making it super fresh. The only suggestion would be to have a more varied menu with more traditional belizian dishes. The service at the restaurant and lobby was outstanding. A special shout out to Lucy, Nigel, Colby, and Freddie. We took a tour of the Mayan ruins. Our guide Greg was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and so so engaging. Peaceful, beautiful, absolute first class service, guides, ambience and food. Incredible experience. Facilities are maintained impeccably. Owner takes care of the staff in such a way they are proud to work there and it shows in their attitude and service.

The Riverlodge is perfect in every way. From the moment you walk in the entire staff treats you like royalty! Cocktails for the tour, nice cold rag for your sunburn....I mean to freshen your face! The food was amazing (ribs and steak were our favorites), the care and accommodating requests were all five stars. We arrived sunburnt from snorkeling, the staff found us real aloe (and the gel meanwhile) to soothe our pains. Massages were the best we've had by US standards and the packed lunch for the ATM tour was also amazingly delicous! (we had the jerk chicken and chicken salad). Do not hesitate to book. Yes there are bugs, not they are not bad (its a jungle out there!), no there is not AC, and no you do not need it. We slept comfortably all night every night. There are floor fans…

This place was incredible. If any part of you isn’t sure whether you should go to Belize, you will be convinced by Gaia. The location is an absolutely stunning pine forest/rainforest/mountain escape, in a remote and pristine part of the country. The resort itself is gorgeous and the food is fantastic - most of it is grown in the organic Mayan garden on site and it’s super fresh and delicious. There are also tons of fascinating excursions and beautiful nature spots to take in. Honestly, though, the people are what really make this place exceptional. We had the same guide on our day trips, and Isael knew EVERYTHING. Truly a walking expert in Mayan culture, rainforest conservation, you name it. An absolutely outstanding stay at Gaia Riverlodge! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and made us feel right at home immediately. The food was fresh and delicious and the grounds were spectacular with easy, comfortable access to waterfalls and various jungle hikes. I cannot say enough about how great our stay was!

Incredible location!! DO NOT GO DOWN BLANCANEAUX RD. it’s a dirt road unsuitable for cars. Also, DO NOT use a Google maps! ATM Trail it is mandatory to have a guide. Kolby and Freddy are the best! Spend a day by the pools!

I planned a surprise trip for my husband’s 40th birthday and this was our first stop. The staff was beyond amazing and went out of their way to make it an extremely special trip! We woke up to birds and the sounds of the waterfall every morning. Of note, there is no AC but it cooled off quite a bit at night. We did the Caracol tour as well as the Barton creek cave tour and our guides Isael and Rudi were knowledgeable and professional. Overall, could not have asked for a better trip and would love to return with friends in the future!

The staff was absolutely fantastic! Knew our names, had coffee and tea at our room every morning. Freddy and Chris were awesome! Enjoyed Rudy’s jungle evening tour. And Coco the dog was the cherry on the cake. Spectacular views and awesome dinners. Highly recommend.
