This could be a beautiful hotel...the grounds are lush and well kept. Nice balconies...The staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great. Breakfast delicious and moderately priced. BUT...this hotel is overpriced for the condition of the rooms. Mattresses are old and need to be replaced...and box springs or bed frame squeak. The air conditioner is old and noisy, ran constantly...

Public areas are lovely. My room overlooked the dumpster but they immediately changed it when I requested it. Lovely to sit on porch and look over the valley. Rooms are getting shabby but are large Reasonable restaurant with good service. On the edge of town on hwy but quiet.

We stayed only one night. Slept GREAT! The room was spacious with a separate dressing/vanity area. I loved the patio complete with 2 chairs and a beautiful view! Although the room offers 2 dining chairs inside along with a small table, my husband is "spoiled" to a soft chair or sofa in our room to accommodate his morning coffee time....

We went on a groupon offer and it was a great deal that included breakfast and $ off dinner. There's not much to do in Castroville so plan this when you just want to "get away from it all". We did take the historic walking tour in Castroville which was interesting. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly....

We did not stay at the hotel or use the spa but attended a wedding here. Upon asking the owner if the food was safe for me to eat, he decided to make me an entire separate meal that was "safe!" His hospitality did not go unnoticed. The view from the ceremony site was beautiful as was the wedding. I...

Used a groupon for our visit. Great deal. Enjoyed spa and had facials and massages that were very good and relaxing. Had wonderful service during our stay . There was a wedding and reception while we were here and service continued to be very good. No problems with WiFi which is free. Don't know why others had such bad experience...

First of all, there is not enough parking for all the rooms they have, so you land up parking in a muddy lot across the street. Second, they give you the bare minimum of everything, for a couple staying at their hotel overnight we were rewarded with one bath towel and half a roll of toilet paper. Lastly, there were...

From the moment we met Jenny at the desk until the time we left, we felt welcomed. Jenny bent over backwards to change our room to one with a superb view. The room itself was large with french doors that opened out to our own balcony overlooking the valley. The room had its own HVAC unit that was not your...

We enjoyed our stay at the Alsatian because it was located on the top of the hill overlooking the valley. It is built in the Alsatian style, but is suffering from some need for maintenance. The building would do well to have a strong pressure washing, which would help tremendously. Also, the rooms could be cleaner, particularly our bathroom where...

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Alsace & Spa two weeks ago for 2 days/nights, thanks to a generous Groupon that included $75 per night guest room, plus $50 Spa credit, breakfast for two both days, and $20 food credit in restaurant. The property is in good condition. Our room had a large balcony with a pleasant view. We...
