Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Crystal Beach receives accolades for its fantastic concert venue and lively atmosphere, enhanced by the ocean breeze and popular weekend events. Guests appreciate the resort's cleanliness, citing immaculate common areas and well-kept grounds. While the variety of amenities is generally praised, some visitors are dissatisfied with the heated pool and Wi-Fi quality.
Despite the friendly and attentive service, travelers note issues with reservation flexibility and occasional miscommunications. Concerns are raised about the resort being overpriced, with hidden fees diminishing the perceived value.

Detailed Reviews
Another EXCELLENT stay! This is our third time at this resort, the staff is fantastic and the amenities are beyond any other resort we have stayed at anywhere in the Galveston area. This place is absolutely worth it! The sites are clean and come with a fire pit, some have dog kennels. They have both back-in and pull through sites. They have quite a few sites that back up to the retention pond where there is great fishing for the kiddos (we love row F). They have a HUGE pool with two swim up bars (one side for adults, the other for families) , multiple TVs and a large jacuzzi. There are plenty of chairs available (no racing to the pool early in the AM to save a spot, they have plenty!) They also have cabana’s available for rent including nice 2nd story VIP cabanas that face both the pool and the concert area . Their entire staff are all really fun, courteous and personable, Mark the food and beverage Mgr is our favorite. Nicest guy ever and so helpful (he helped us resolve an issue with our rig). They have ample staff available and they work incredible hard to keep the resort spotless and ensure their guests are well taken care of. Their food trucks are also really good!! They also have a huge play area for kids (artificial turf), playground and lots of kid friendly activities. We’ve been here twice when they’ve had concerts, the stage is huge and the sound incredible! The beach is accessible without crossing a street and golf carts can easily access the beach (they rent 4 and 6 seaters on site). The beach fishing here is really good and there is an awesome bait shop just down the street. Their bathrooms and showers and large and really clean, the best I have ever seen at an RV resort. Their gym is nice and they have plenty of washers/dryers. Late check in is a breeze, they are very accommodating. There are grocery stores nearby and some really good seafood restaurants nearby. We LOVE this place and will be back many more times this year. Very impressive operation all around. Can’t wait to come back!

The RV spots have plenty of space A little issues with fire pits. Pool is clean and large. Pool bar is awesome. Food services were having a rough time but when the restaurant opens the pool food should flow smoother Activities are fun my granddaughters love them Cabana should have ceiling fans. Resort visitors staying in a RV should be allow to take food and drinks purchased there back to the RV Showers and gym area are clean

This feels like being on a cruise but even better. No customs and no passport required. The pool is wonderful and refreshing and it does not feel like you are in Crystal Beach. They have weekend concerts and they have an onsite restaurant with delicious food. The entire place is very clean and well maintained. The grass is very green and always mowed and maintained. All RV sites are paved and they even have free shuttle service from the overflow parking lot to the pool. They even have an arcade too. The prices for a back in site is very reasonable (you would pay well over thousands of dollars to stay at the hotel resorts in Galveston and to even take a cruise. Galveston is only a boat ride away (however it is best to check the ferry line prior to go to Galveston, but the ferry ride is relaxing).

I'll be nice and say this place may possibly have potential some day. That day was not any of the days we stayed last weekend. First off this place is extremely expensive. For the money they are charging you'd expect (at a bare minimum) clean pools, a working sound system, working WiFi, food service that didn't take an hour, firewood for sale when they state you can't bring your own, an actual view of the beach for a "beach club", employees that didn't each have their own set of rules, not to have to walk around construction equipment and hear the popping of nail guns, and the list goes on. We were given the total bait and switch with this trip. I find it funny that when we booked months ago all the sites appeared full (presumably an effort to make you think it would sell out), but our section was practically empty. I get needing the revenues to support the place, but don't charge full price for 1/2 service. Maybe try not having so many employees working instead. Does it really take five girls to man the entrance to the pool and more to wander around laughing an ignoring the guests all day? There was really nothing extraordinary about this place unless, I suppose, you want to pony up another $2500 a day to rent the VIP cabanas. What a joke. This place will be out business in no time if they don't up their game dramatically. We talked with so many people there during our stay and not a single one had a positive thing to say. There are simply too many other and better options available. I highly doubt we will ever be back. On a positive note, they had electricity, water and a hole in the ground to dump your sewage through....

Booked a couple weeks in advance. When we got our confirmation I read in the terms and conditions that RVs must meet a length limit. My wife and I travel in a small conversion.
In order to make sure we would be OK to stay, we emailed a written inquiry several days in advance. This way if they did not allownour small TV, we would have time to dind another place. We got an email back from the resort the next day with a confirmation and directions.
Three days later AS WE WERE DRIVING TO THE RESORT a very rude lady called and said she is the manager and we can't stay because our RV is too small.
The management's failure to answer emails in a timely manner ended up leaving us stranded with no place to stay despite our having sent the inquiry several days in advance.
To add insult to injury, the lady was very rude and blamed her coworker for not reading her emails and my wife for emailing instead of calling.
Manager dropped the ball. Customers paid the price for manager's incompetence Manager blamed everyone else and was rude while doing it.
This place will never get a dime of my money from trips in any of our RVs.

My wife and I stayed for Independence Day 2022 and were pleasantly surprised. The RV spots are not the largest but they are quite nice with concrete pads and new grass planted in all areas.
The pool was certainly the centerpiece. It has 2 side with a party side and family friendly side. We had our granddaughter with us and she had a great time without me worrying about too much partying near her. The pool was not crowded and the resort was completely full so I'd say the pool id BIG enough to handle any holiday crowd.
We have already booked this again for Labor Day.
The only reason it is not 5 stars now is because its not quite finished. I'm sure my next review will be *****

Been to many resorts and my opinion is that Jimmy is rolling around in his grave with frustration. This place is poorly managed, yes, its new, however they need to overhaul many aspects of the requirements and rules. Renting a golf cart, we have rented several at other resorts, never before were we asked to show proof of car insurance, always your driver's license was sufficient. It would not have been a big issue if we did not walk a half a mile to the camp store. the pool...we walk to the pool i am carrying a bottle of spring water was told i have to throw it out. My wife was carrying a Stanley mug with iced tea she was told to empty it. I was emailed that i could extend my stay for 50 bucks, decided to take advantage of the offer, my extended day would have been a Sunday to Monday in October, was told I would have to move because the reserved my site. they said it was a locked in site. they could move me to another location but breaking down and setting back up was not practical. can you imagine reserving a site and paying the extra 25 dollars to reserve this site which was not close to anything. i walked away frustrated and did not believe for a minute this site had a lock reservation. This experience left me with a very bad taste in my mouth and a terrible way to end an otherwise great summer. if I could have put a half star I would have and that would have been too much credit. My site was/is G13, you can view on camp map the location.

If you are looking for a place on the beach, pool, fantastic restaurant and bar all with outstanding service then this would be the place to go. Not to mention if you need to use the laundry facilities all very well keep up.
The resort is one of the most well kept we have stayed at with concrete level sites.

Beware of This Resort Management's ability to NOT Walk The Walk and only Talk the Talk. They are Advertising and telling You one thing and then not delivering on what they are Advertising and telling you. Their dedication to Customer Service is relative to the number of sites that are booked.
Initially, the Adult and Family Pools were supposed to be heated to 84 Degrees Fahrenheit and both were barely over 70 Degrees Fahrenheit. When we asked about it, the excuse from Upper Management was that it hadn't recovered from the last Cold Front yet, which was over a week ago. They just aren't spending the money to turn up the Thermostat. There was Construction going on with Daily Sessions of Jackhammers pounding on concrete for hours, which was never publicized when booking or anytime thereafter. Their so-called High Speed WiFi was unreliable and was constantly showing as Poor Reception. This Resort charges a Premium Price without Delivering a Return on that Significant Investment. We had Very Much looked forward to Enjoying our stay for the Month of March and now we feel like we are just having to Deal with getting thru it instead. We will Definitely Never Ever book a Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in any of our future plans. We had Fantastic Stays over the past two months at Sun Outdoors RV Resorts.
Although we did get a 3 Day refund from the GM as a result of the less than advertised conditions, it was a relatively small gesture in comparison to our investment that we made for our 29 Day stay.
Ironically, everything was up and running for Spring Break but then back to hit and miss Amenities when the Crowd thinned out. Go Figure!

Excellent RV resort with really great amenities! We stayed for a week and it was a great trip. Check-in and check-out were really easy, and since we were arriving late, the staff even sent a message with a map of the property that was marked up with directions to our site. We'll stay again!

No tents
No pets allowed in pool area. There is a nice pet park. I also see lots of pets riding with owners on golf cart.
Camp Margaritaville is situated right next to the beach. There is an entire section not yet built out, it’s a nice walk or short bike ride to the beach through this section. You don’t have to cross any roads. The walkway from the street to the beach is wide enough for golf carts, electric bikes, etc. You can also park near the walkway and have just a short walk down to the beach. They also sell $10 passes (good for a year) and the public access point is very close so you can drive your car or truck onto the beach with the pass. The beach in front of the resort is beautiful and not typically crowded. The fishing is great! There are small grocery stores just down the street (TJ’s, Dollar General) and a much bigger grocery store about 5 minutes down the road (The Big Store). Camp Margaritaville’s main office also has a lot of items (food and other). On a side note, the food truck menu serviced at the pool bar has a lot of really great food as well! The larger restaurant next to the pool area was under construction during our last visit, can’t wait to try it. We love this resort, great options for pool, beach, fishing and more. It’s very dog and kid friendly too. Great place for longer term stays, they often have concerts and events that are free with your stay. Laundry and bathroom facilities are the best we have ever experienced. GREAT staff!!!
