I have stayed at the Lawrence on three occasions, choosing it the first time because it was right across the street from the train station from where I was arriving and departing, and choosing it subsequently for the same reason plus my my general satisfaction with it. Even though some time has passed since I was last there, I had...

My husband and I went to Dallas to see the historic JFK site and didn't realise that the Hotel Lawrence overlooked the site. We were given a room overlooking the site and were very happy with it. The complementary breakfast was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is quite old but it is comfortable and...

My husband and I stayed here on December 31, 2009. We wanted a hotel that was within walking distance from the attractions we were interested in as well as the New Years Eve festivities at the American Airlines Center area. This hotel fit the bill. We paid $92 + tax for one night which I didn't think was too bad...

I arrived at midnight and was told valet parking was full. Then instructed to walk around and find a meter, at midnight, in downtown Dallas as a single female. I walked to a meter only to find in bright letters "2 hour limit, Meters Effective 7 Days a Week" not to mention that parking at a meter was $.25 per...

If you have an interest in Dealey Plaza and events that happened there, the only place to stay is Hotel Lawrence. It overlooks the plaza and can be clearly seen in films of those shocking events in 1963. Our room had a view of the plaza and Old Red Courthouse but views all around are beautiful! The place is steeped...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel the night prior and the night of our wedding. While we were away on our honeymoon out of the country, this hotel charged my card as well as my husbands (double charging us) not only for the rooms but also for damages that were in the hotel prior to our arrival (trying...

First I will say that this review is a bit biased as the hotel has charged us for damages that existed prior to our stay and that we mentioned to the front desk staff as we arrived thinking nothing else of it. Then, while on our honeymoon I checked my banking statement and was charged an additional 1200 dollars by...

I got this cheap rate at the last minute without reading all the negative reviews. Then i got super worried. But once we actually got to the hotel we realized it was a perfectly fine old place. I can only speak for my room/visit, but this is what I expect from any 1930s hotel not run by a huge chain....

Changed rooms 3 times. Smelled like old antiques and cat urine. This place should be leveled and replaced with a parking deck . This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in and the city of Dallas should shut it down. Dont go to the restaurant because no one will wait on you. This place made me absolutely sick. Spend...

This is a dump. Do not stay here. Drive to Adolphus and get a better room. It's old, outdated, smells bad, dirty, and has tiny little beds they call a queen but is clearly a double circa 1920. This hotel needs to be demolished theres no hope for renovation. The pictures are totally misleading. Do yourself a favor and stay...
