Hotel Drover, Autograph Collection is often lauded for its cleanliness and the meticulous upkeep of its spaces. The decor and comfortable rooms contribute to the hotel's charm, yet some guests find the rooms to be on the smaller and noisier side.
While the service generally garners compliments for its professionalism, a few reviewers have experienced slow or inattentive service during busy periods. Its location receives praise for convenience to local attractions, but the value proposition is debated, with some questioning the cost relative to the room and service quality.

The parking experience was fantastic! It was easy to find a spot, with plenty of spaces available even during peak hours. The lot was clean, well-lit, and felt very safe. The layout was simple to navigate, and I was able to park without any hassle. I appreciated the clear signage and wide spaces, making it convenient and stress-free. Overall, it was a smooth and pleasant parking experience. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for reliable parking!

The Drover is AWESOME. The furniture in each room, and everywhere else around the building, is all custom and could not be more stylish. If you really pay attention you won't believe how custom everything is!! The rooms are extremely comfortable (nice bottles of whisky included) and the restaurant is excellent1 We had a family member with food allergies and the chef came out and made her a custom menu. The rest of the stockyard area is entertaining, for sure. But the Drover is the highlight.

This hotel is something special - the customer service is great, and it has lots of areas to relax outside of your room. We stayed at the end of November and they had a selection of Christmas books for children in their snug, which I thought was a nice touch. Lots of seating outside for the bar, around the pool and the fire pit.
The beds were very comfortable and you were provided with little touches including shower and vanity essentials. One recommendation would be for the hotel to provide slippers to go with the robes. We also had a stockyards view, but you can't really see the stockyards. At night the cars do drive past the front of the hotel with their music quite loud, but it didn't wake me up. Breakfast in bed was great, the Tacos were amazing.
We stayed to visit our honeymoon and added a note/told the reception staff that but we didn't get a note or anything complimentary to celebrate which was a shame as we did receive this at other hotels.

First, the checking process was seamless and quick; however, I arrived during non peak hours and I was the only party checking in at that time. I noticed during prime check-in times, the valet area was a complete disaster due to the influx of non-guests using the hotel parking. In fact, one of my issues with this hotel is they do not prioritize hotel guests over the plethora of non-guests who frequently come to the hotel for photo ops or to take advantage of drinks in the backyard. As such, it was difficult to find a place to relax and lines at all bars were at least a 30+ minute wait in the afternoons and evenings on Friday/Saturday. There was insufficient wait staff in the lobby, pool or patio to adequately serve the crowds from early afternoon until late in the evenings, so that left many to resort to standing in a long line or leaving entirely. For a five star hotel, this is simply not acceptable.
The other issue was parking. The secure parking lot used by valets is directly behind the hotel. However, during peak times the valets use a public lot further away for overflow parking. However, they do not tell you this information and I only found out after having to go to my car to retrieve an item left behind. Again, if you charge $43+ per day for valet yet use a public lot that is not secure and $10 cheaper, you should be transparent about this. Also, priority should be given to overnight hotel guests for the gated/secure lot vs using a first-come, first-serve mentality. While my concerns were addressed and my vehicle was moved by hotel management, I think a deeper review of their valet parking plan is needed to alleviate this issue, as well as, having overnight hotel guests wait in line to get their cars along with non-guests.
While rooms are wonderfully decorated in a retro western theme, the standard 2-queen room is small based on my experience at this price point. Instead of a closet, there was a huge armoire that consumed half of the entry way. That housed the espresso machine, safe, iron, and fridge, as well as, a small area to hang clothes. Other than a small chair, the desk/credenza combo held the Snacks bar and alcohol options. There was little space for luggage to be laid-out other than on the beds. The bathroom was wonderful with lavender spa soaps in the shower and vanity. Beds were reasonably comfortable, but rooms facing Mule Alley (ie front of hotel) were very noisy from street traffic even on upper floors until early in the morning. Overall, the size of the room was adequate for two travelers, but would be cramped for 3-4 adults.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Hotel Drover on Trip Advisor. We are very sorry to hear that your experience was not a Legendary Experience. Your feedback is truly appreciated and we are continuing to explore opportunities to ensure that our Hotel Guest who stay overnight feel the exclusivity of Hotel Drover. As for the parking of our valet vehicles, the lot that we park in that is an overflow lot is a secured lot and is a lot that we have control over. The distance to the lot is not ideal as it is further away from the Hotel, but we do want to assure you that this lot is secure and when we do use it as an overflow valet lot we do control who can access it. Thankyou for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience we look forward to having an opportunity to serve you in the future at Hotel Drover. Very best,

The hote itself is beautiful and designed in Texas chic. I would have loved to enjoy the beautiful lobby area but it was overrun from morning to late night with what appeared to mostly be younger people not staying at the hotel since they finally emptied out a little around 9:30. The lines for every bar were long and there was no place to sit- mostly filled with those not ordering from the bar. Drinks were well made although it is unfortunate that there is no dedicated space for hotel guests to actually enjoy the amenities for which they are paying. Even on the very hot nights that we stayed the outdoor area also had very limited seating. We were in a corner room with a view of not one but two parking lots which would have been fine if it had not been so noisy. Not only did we deal with car noise but the a/c made a horrible racket everytime it came on resulting in a very fitful night’s sleep. The decor in the room is as equally gorgeous as the lobby area and the reception, valet, and bartenders were all very friendly. The knock in stars is for the noise and general inability to actually use the hotel. We had dinner reservations at 97 West Kitchen and contrary to all the positive reviews had abysmal service there and mediocre food with the exception of the desserts, which were stellar. Order the blue mesa chip and dip appetizer and the carrot cake and bread pudding and skip the salads and entrees as they were very sub par and steaks overcooked. The waitstaff forgot drinks, did not provide appropriate silverware despite our asking multiple times, did not bring requested items (like a napkin or steak knife), tried to set our salad plates atop used appetizer plates. It was very disappointing and I have to hope it was just the wrong time for us to come and this was an off weekend for the hotel and restaraunt.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas & could have been great BUT might as well stay across the street for way less & walk over! Paid for a premium first floor room & quickly realized it matters not. We get the sane service as every blow joe off the street & there’s many of those that converge here evening. 30 min plus wait in line for a glass of wine, does not matter if you are a hotel guest or not. Why stay here?

My kids and I needed a weekend away and we could not have chosen a better place to do that. We booked the bunk rooms with the little rompers package and Hotel Drover really blew it out of the water.
Upon arrival the valet attendants helped unload all our bags and were very patient as I unloaded all 3 of my kids. The hostess was so welcoming and very informative. The bellman escorted us up to our room with all our bags and unloaded everything into our room. He was so kind and informed us of the scavenger hunt the kids could do around the stockyard and receive a prize upon completion.
The kids absolutely loved the room! There were two stools with little stuffed houses and a bag with all the essentials to make s’mores. The bunk beds were perfect for my two older kids (2 and 4). I wasn’t once worried about if they would roll out at night because the railing was the perfect height to keep them safe.
When we went to the pool my kids didn’t need a towel because there were two adorable little roper robes for them to wear. The pool was perfect for all ages and also the perfect temperature to get in and out of. There were pool attendants and perfect little cabanas to sit under. If you needed a refreshment they had ice water at the pool and a bar located only a few steps away.
This hotel was so beautiful inside and out. There are unique photos all around and the decor really caught your eye from the moment you walked in. They have fire pits that we were able to make s’mores over and live music to dance to. 97 west is their restaurant and they have the most delicious breakfast.
If you want to go explore everything is right around the corner. It was so perfect for me because with 3 littles that get over heated easily we could plan one or two things to go do and be back to the hotel in 5 minutes. We didn’t need to drive anywhere.
When we checked out the process was effortless. I called down for a bellman and they pulled the car around too. Everyone loaded up my vehicle and made sure I knew there was no hurry to leave.
We will definitely be returning in the future!

I wanted a special experience for my wife's birthday. She had always mentioned how much she would like to experience the Drover since we have dined at 97 West numerous times. I should mention we live just 15 minutes away. We were able to get an amazing rate for one night and we could not have been more thrilled with the whole experience. 1. Hospitality. Shout out to Margo who went above and beyond to provide a little birthday treat for my wife in our room. What a thoughtful gesture, my wife started to tear up. 2. The amenities in the room were more than we have experienced at any other hotel stay. We were told the sheets are specifically created for the hotel. Slipping into the sheets is like slipping into butter. 3. The pool area is a must and we spent most of time there, before and after dining at 97 West. What a memorable and wonderful experience.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always enjoyed our experience, however on this visit we were surprised at the lack of management and security.
We had a group of 6 people staying at this hotel. We met our friends after the rodeo in the hotel bar only to find it full of children and parents not staying at the hotel. We know this because at the end of the night we saw them all leave the hotel.
The kids kept the bartender busy ordering Shirley temples and the mom kept asking for more Cherie’s and more oranges. She said “it’s not like he paid for them.” We felt sorry for the bar tender, who had more patience than we did at this point. The kids were in the sitting areas and the moms were at the bar requesting the drinks and fruit and until the bar tender gave them all the cherries and oranges he had, did they finally walk away. This was after 11:00 PM on a Monday night. Why were there children at the bar??
We were finally able to get our drinks and went to the pool area to sit, only to find all the kids running around so we went back inside. There was no security or managers to speak to and obviously the bartenders were doing the best they could with the situation.
We are hesitant to book this hotel on our next trip in town due to the lack of control the staff had with this situation.

I'm from Fort Worth but had no idea this resort style hotel was at the stockyards! So glad I tried it. The thing I enjoyed most was the outdoor setting. There is a nice, large "backyard" with a bar and pool. The hotel is built along a creek/trail so taking a walk is an option. I'm not sure if there is any self-parking here, we finally gave up trying to find any and used valet parking. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but did eat breakfast there. Tip: make yourself coffee in the room for free because I seem to remember it was $5 in the restaurant for coffee. The service was great all around. I felt like the decor was a little over-the-top, but I always enjoy seeing old books around on the bookshelves, and there were many.
