This was our first time and we actually had 2 twin rooms in the lodge but we arrived a little early and decided to see if the cabin/tents were available. Lucky for us they were. They are a little more expensive than the lodge rooms that we had but it turned out to be perfect for 2 adults and 2...

Foothills Safari Camp was a neat adventure. We were in Wolf Cabin. It was so cool! Like a tent inside but a cabin on the outside. Don't prepare to unpack. Tiny area to hang clothes. Cabin faced the pond where all the animals came to drink in the morning and evening. LOVED watching them. Breakfast buffet had a good choice...

We stayed in the safari "tents" years ago and now that our kids are a little older, we decided to take a quick trip back. The safari camp at Fossil Rim is, in my opinion, the best of both worlds! You get the fun of camping out with the bonuses of a hotel. There are only a handful of tents...

4th trip, back for the first time in 4 years ... every time has been with kids who are now 13 and 9. The tent cabins are fabulous, small and encourage you to explore outside (the fenced area anyway). The breakfast was simple but great and the best part is that the entrance to Fossil Rim is included for the...

This is our third time to the Safari Camp tent cabins and it just gets better and better. Only a short two-hour drive from North Dallas (Richardson), Fossil Rim Foothills Safari Camp lodging make for a wonderful getaway near the city. If you can stay Sunday through Thursday, the rates are better: at $150 a night, you also get entrance...

What is not mentioned much is the view, may not impress someone from Colorado, but there is a wonderful upper hill country view from the tents. There are quite a few animals that hang around, mostly deer but some of the more exotic animals make it by as well. They get real close. Only downside for us is that it...

One of my favorite places around. They look like tents but are actually permanent structures complete with air conditioning and heat. With showers and really comfortable beds everything you need is right there. When the sun goes down, listen and you will hear the Mexican Grey Wolves begin to howl, nothing like it!

We came here for our anniversary. We chose the tents because it seemed more secluded. Definitely not very romantic though in separate beds. Still really cool. Nice evening view of the watering hole. The rooms are sufficient and have A/C and shower and bathroom. You go for the experience. Breakfast was really good. We chose to do the early morning...

This is trip we had been wanting to do for sometime and we were not disappointed. Seeing and feeding the animals at Fossil Rim is always a treat and educational. The Safari Camp tents were very cozy and comfortable (it was very cold out but comfortable in tent). Our group brought in food so we could maximize time at Safari...

2 adults and one child (11) stayed in one of the Foothills tents last night over Spring Break. Had a great time! The tents are nice with a bathroom with shower (don't expect to take more than 1 hot shower in a row as the hot water tank is small). There are 2 twin beds built in with a window on...
