Stayed one night with wife and two children, aged 10 & 12. It thoroughly met expectations, The rooms were classy, high quality with an opulent feel.

Access to some areas were restricted because of CV-19, however to walk a round the premises was delightful with something interesting around every turn, including abbey, wine cellar, library room, marquis, etc.

Liked the fact that temperatures were checked on entry, and clear guidance on CV-19 safety.

We had minor issue with a couple of bees in the room, which put the kids at unease, whats important was the attention we received, quick upgrade and discount.

Very friendly staff and nice bar. Although the weather didn't warrant it there is lovely modern terrace with nice views to have drinks.

There are a couple of pubs walking distance, the larger one was open because of CV-19 but point is there eating/drinking options.

Throughly recommend this place as a bit of a treat given its a luxury hotel.

We went on to Malvern, which is a quaint town, great to sample some Malvern water that the locals tap. Parked in the centre of town, hallway up hills , (behind ASK restaurant) the walk and views stunning.

Visited for afternoon tea to treat my family as I am visiting from Australia. Overall have to say staff were amazing. Great service and attentive. The afternoon tea is quite good value and my Mum and sister had a really lovely tea. Teas are really nice and served well.
However I am lactose intolerant and have to say this was my worst ever experience of afternoon tea, and being honest it was not worth what I paid for it. I think it was possibly prepared by someone who doesn’t understand lactose intolerance and the sandwiches where terrible, cakes lacking in imagination. I think it was gluten free bread and rather than being cut as afternoon tea sandwiches usually are they were served literally in halves and just set down with no presentation effort made. They were dry and without any butter, most butter is lactose safe as it’s low in milk sugars! That said sunflower spread makes a great alternative. One of the sandwiches was filled literally with 8 small slices of cucumber, no other filler and dry, which on any level is unacceptable! My scones were not warmed, on the other stand they were warm and the variety of sweet cakes on my tea was disappointing, basically I was given a variety of cake bars, the best of which was a caramel type slice. The other teas had a nice variety of cakes and pastries. When booking we did say one of us was lactose intolerant.
I would rather venues say they can’t cater for dietary requirements than provide what is a sub standard offering, which is what I was given. Or just say we can offer a smaller selection for dietary alternatives and charge accordingly. I do appreciate that in this day and age is must be tiresome to cater for so many different dietary requirements, but for many of us this is not a choice sadly but a necessity to our wellbeing. That said the hotel was still happy to offer it and charge for it! Poor show really given the standard of hotel. I think the tea I was given was worth perhaps £20.00

In summary what I was given was not worth the price tag, it was evident there was a lack of understanding about LI and was not similar to the tea served to other customers by any stretch and the presentation was dire!
I think this needs some improvement and understanding of what lactose intolerance is on the part of the staff in this establishment.

I would usually give my feedback direct on the day, but this was a special occasion and I didn’t want to upset my Mum in particular. For that much I apologise to the venue. If I have chance I will telephone to discuss.

My advice to customers would be go elsewhere if you have a dietary requirements, it’s not worth the price tag for this afternoon tea sadly.
Surroundings beautiful, staff very good and attentive service. Mixed experience for us.

Dear Guest Thank you for providing your feedback following your recent visit with us. I was disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your visit with us with reference to the lactose intolerant afternoon tea. We cater for a number of guests with specific dietary requests and is a normal occurrence for us to ensure our guests are looked after, which makes your feedback so disappointing to read. I have reviewed our offering with our Head Chef and I hope if you do decide to come back that you will see the improvements we have made. Please rest assured we will use your feedback to ensure this does not happen again and indeed our guest expectations are surpassed. I do hope this has not deterred you from a return visit. Kind Regards Gordon

We came for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately one of the group had broken her leg and was unable to come. I telephoned the hotel to say that only two of us would be coming but on arrival the message had not got through and our table was still laid for three. In the large dining room there was only one other table with guests taking afternoon tea. If they had not been there we would have been all on our own and I would not have liked that.

The tea was O.K but forgettable. We were fortunate because there was an offer on and afternoon tea for two with two glasses of champagne came to £39.50 which was good value for what we got.

The hotel is well presented with a lot of history. However, on arrival there was a huge Christmas tree which was not very well decorated. First impressions are important and my memory of the afternoon was of a not very festive Christmas tree and an empty dining room.

I would come again to give this hotel a second chance. We could have been unlucky. I suggest you try this hotel for yourself and see what you think. It has massive potential.

We ordered a takeaway from Stanbook for a Saturday night treat. You choose a main, three sides and a dessert and it feeds six people. For £35! All you have to do is heat it up at home and full instructions are provided.

We have nothing but good things to say. The food was amazing, there was lots of it, the instructions worked. When we picked up the food, a member of staff was waiting for us, with beautifully presented boxes. It felt really quite special.

I was also pleased that all of the packaging was card or metal trays - all of which can be recycled.

I assume the takeway option is a new venture to create business during lockdown. However, I hope it continues when it ends. It provides an affordable way for people who wouldn't usually (or couldn't) go out for dinner, to still have a treat at home. It's particularly relevant for people like myself and friends who have young children at home.

Well done Stanbrook!

This is a very comfortable hotel but over Christmas there were only 18 guests out of a capacity of 140. I was happy with my upgraded room and the various Christmas menus. Also the little gifts left in my room. One major complaint I had was that when I asked at the Christmas Eve dinner why the service was so slow, I was told that the following courses were only served after everyone had finished the preceding. I do understand that people in couples eat more slowly but I should have been offered regular service. I had the remainder of my meal served in my room. I did address the problem with the genial manager, Gordon, and I am convinced this will never ever happen again.

i had given the desk my credit card details and duly paid for an extra meal on check out. Imagine my horror this morning to find, after my departure, the hotel had charged me £739 which should have been billed to Premier Travel, whom I had already paid in October. No hotel should bill you extra charges once you have checked out. The hotel has promised to refund me today.

However, this was an ill wind, etc. The amount of £739 was what the hotel should have billed Premier Travel plus £210 for an extra night. Premier had charged me approximately £1260, so I calculate I had been charged an extra £300 by Premier for a hotel booking. Usually I make my own hotel reservations but as I had had a Jersey reservation with Premier cancelled due to Covid quarantine, i thought it was easier to take their package. Never again.

We went to the Stanbrook Abbey for one night to celebrate a birthday. There are three 'Featured Rooms'. The rooms have a name rather than a number. We stayed in Boulton (look at the pictures of the rooms). We had a great time. The room was very large and very comfortable. There was a large bathroom. There was a bath with a shower and a seperate shower. There were dressing gowns and slippers provided. There was a small fridge, a hair dryer, a safe and a Nespresso coffee maker. Wi-Fi worked well. The bedroom was down a set of steps. The bedroom was large with a queen sized bed. The room was spaceous with a ceiling over 15 feet. The room was spotless and comfortable. The room included breakfast. You were invited to have a Continantal breakfast to start and then have a full English Breakfast at no extra cost.
We had an evening meal at the hotel that was excellent. We have had a evening meal on two previous occasions. The food and service is excellent. Everone that you meet in the hotel go out of their way to make you feel at home - well done!

We originally booked a 2 night stay, D/B/B for my husband’ s birthday in April but had to cancel due to COVID, so we booked in July for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were really apprehensive about our stay but were greeted by the Manager, Gordon Burniston, who is very friendly, very professional and he immediately put our minds at rest. He took our temperature then explained all about the rules very clearly, then
informed us about the hotel. The receptionists were friendly, checking in was effortless. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, (the cleaners have excelled themselves) hand sanitiser everywhere. The hotel was beautifully decorated, contemporary but also in keeping with the abbey and we think its one if the nicest places we have stayed in. It felt completely safe, social distancing in place and we were allocated a table for the duration. The food was very tasty, waiters extremely polite and courteous, all in all perfect. Our room was beautifully decorated with a comfy bed, pillows, bathroom had a lovely roll top bath and shower. The staff gave us a card and some chocolates which was a nice touch and much appreciated whilst our children sent us some unexpected bubbly which we drank on the rooftop area overlooking the entrance, the views were spectacular all round and so very peaceful as there were only a handful of people staying. I would recommend staying here because it was a lovely experience and it would be a fantastic wedding venue with the Abbey to get married in. Will definitely be back with some friends. We sincerely hope more people will start venturing out and start staying at this wonderful hotel.

First time visiting here, what a beautiful place. Been after some new places to try for afternoon tea and we certainly weren’t disappointed. A bit more expensive to our average place but food and service was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and you can walk round for free, upon arrival are temperature was checked and hand gel stations were used. We we’re then directed to our table, away from anyone else as to keep to social distancing. Good choice of drinks, even made me a special mocktail as I was driving. Service was brilliant too, plenty of tea and coffee refillable too. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Beautiful building, staff very pleasant but service and food dreadful. You can not charge prices like that and deliver cold food, get the orders wrong on numerous occasions and expect return business. This was high end dinning and I’ve experienced better service from a Harvester. Not worth the prices you charge. Table booked and still one setting missing to the point we had to point out twice there is no cutlery for one guest. Then mains were delivered with sides missing and one dish completely missing to the point were one of our guests was eating on their own. This guest also had no cutlery and after asking for some and still it never arrived, I had to leave my dinner get up to the next table and pick some up myself. Out of 9 of us 3 were extremely disappointed with our meals. Not good at all. Will not return again.

This was a last minute booking with dinner and breakfast. The hotel is a stunning building with an interesting history. It’s worth exploring the buildings. The staff were very welcoming and service was generally excellent ( see later) The accommodation is beautifully furnished with a great attention to detail. Lots of little touches, and the bathroom was particularly good. My only slight reservation was the split level dining room , and the table we were on was a little tight and felt too close to the till. Tables on the higher level felt much better. Food at dinner was of a high standard. Breakfast on Saturday was very good, although we did get forgotten and had to remind the staff of our drinks and food orders several times. A really enjoyable stay and would like to return
