I travels alot for work and stay pretty much everywhere and this hotel is the best! Perfect location ,FREE breakfast (Could be better and have different options, guess because it’s free they really don't care about what they serving) clean rooms/common areas and to top it off is the service AWESOME service!! Valet could do better not so friendly but everyone inside the hotel is Great especially Travis omg this gentleman is funny asf lol he always made my mornings. You would think a person would be all cranky and not in the mood from working the overnight shift not this guy every morning 5am I come down and what i see a big a** smile not telling me good morning but singing me good morning gorgeous oh that made my day every morning! I come down thru out the night just to chit chat because his energy i love it and his dance moves. Not only that but he do actually take care of his guest because i watch him interact with every person and he is just amazing. Staycation or Vacation I recommend you give this hotel a go best decision for accommodation!!

I needed to fly into Houston at last minute and be in the downtown area. So, I booked this hotel the day of my travel. I am familiar with Hampton Inns. So, this was an booking. Let me tell you, this is probably the nicest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in. If it didn't say Hampton Inn, I would think this is a Hilton. Save your money from staying in the Hilton that's 1/4 mile away. Stay here instead. You get free breakfast too. The location is great because it's near the conference center, Minute Maid Park and where the Rockets play. I would stay here again and be just fine with it. This place is great!

Most important was the proximity to the Convention Center, just 1 block. The price was good for the area. The beds were comfortable and our bathroom was very clean. The breakfast had fresh cut fruit also apples and bananas. The road noise was loud due to revving engines at night so I'd recommend earplugs. (not the hotel's fault) There were a couple of restaurants nearby and Franks Pizza delivered to the hotel one night. I did think the rooms were a bit dark at night due to the lack of a large overhead light. They had lighting at desk and beds.

This was our third visit and even though I wouldn't call the property fancy, it's extremely nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff makes the hotel feel like home. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. It's a five minute walk to Minute Maid. I would and have recommended the hotel.

This hotel is in walking distance from Minute Maid Park, which is why we chose it. We decided to turn our Friday night game into an overnight stay. I wish we would have driven home... The room smelled less than fresh, but it appeared clean. When we arrived at 3:00 PM, the first thing I was hit with was $49 for parking. Part of the justification for us spending $300 for a one night stay was so we didn't have to pay for parking at the ballpark. But, okay. Maybe I didn't read the fine print. I chalked this up to bad research on my part. (Apparently, other people had the same idea since the hotel was booked solid.) The check-in process was easy and the lady at the desk was friendly. However, we did not get the Hilton Honors package we were accustomed to. Our room was on the 12th floor, and the view of downtown Houston was pretty good. But, the room was a little warm. We checked the thermostat which read 75F, so we turned down the thermostat to 71F. We showered, changed into our Astros gear and headed off to the park. After a blowout where the Astros were victorious, we headed back to the hotel. Our room was now 85F. We called the front desk, but our phone call was never answered. We went down to the lobby, which was full of other Astros fans. The hotel was giving away pizzas and the crowd was beyond belief as the fans celebrated. We finally talked to someone about the AC when the crowds started going up the elevators. We then went up to our room and waited for help. After an hour during which no one showed, we went to bed. It was miserable and neither of us slept. We couldn't wait to get out of there and go home. We will not be staying here again.

I stayed here at the Hampton Inn, Houston, before flying back home to Australia. I'm glad I did, as my travel agent was trying to book me accommodation closer to the airport. I'd agree with other reviews, the staff here are fantastic. The hotel is a bit dated, the wall papers in particular from another era! However, very clean - and I loved the coffee maker in the room. On the way in, the taxi driver assured me this part Houston was very safe - and I found that to be the case. Just down from the hotel is a very nice park fronted by the Convention Centre, with a large café in the centre. What I didn't realise about Houston, is that most of the shops and smaller eateries are underground! A series of tunnels and overpasses run across the City, shielding against the heat or inclement weather. There are maps intermittently throughout the tunnel system as a guide to where you are - on heading. I walked to the tour centre in Dallas street, which was across the park (q.v.) and up a bit. From there I booked the Hop on Hop off bus City tour in the morning, then the NASA tour in the afternoon. Apparently, unlike other cities, the Hop on Hop off bus does not stop at places of interest - possibly because most of them are well outside Houston central? Their is a light rail that runs by the Hampton Inn, Houston, where at the station you can either buy a "one-off" ticket, or day pass for $US4 with a credit card.
