It was cheap. It was clean, kind of. It had a heavy, "cleansing" smell, like it was trying to cover up something. The toilet lid and seat were not attached. There was a 1/2" gap under the front door.

On the flip side, the shower was big and nicely done. Except it had no "shelf" for shampoo or soap to stay. Bed was firm.

I understood I wouldn't get 5 stars accommodation, but fixing a few of the things in my opening paragraph would have ranked this a 4 for me.

We stayed here for the weekend; just needed somewhere cheap, in close proximity to the metro, and cheap (price was the main factor). We were pleasantly surprised! Yes, the location isn't the greatest (but when I went out to my car around 1am, I didn't feel unsafe at all) considering the construction happening in front of the hotel, but the rooms were nice, the bathroom was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great for a basic stay, its a just-need-a-bed-for-the-night kind of place. The staff was friendly at check-in and gave us a discount for our refrigerator being out of service in our room. Maybe we just expected way worse for the price, but we would stay here again.

Was pleasantly surprised what we got for a total of $70 (that includes the taxes). Our room had a refrigerator, decent size TV. We had a nice little couch, coffee table, desk and chair in addition to the bed of course. The room was clean. My wife and I very happy with the value and would stay here again.

Park Inn and Suites advertised that they have highspeed internet, continental breakfast and business center. Don't ever fall into their trick. The counter staff called Maria or Mary, told me that they are planning to install high speed internet in all their rooms, but I'm not sure whether they will, they should not have put them in hotwire or expedia if they don't have.

They don't have continental breakfast, just donuts, coffee etc on the side on a table... this doesn't count as continental breakfast.

Their so-called business center is a run-down computer, not connected to internet or printer or scanner.... I might as well use my own computer!

It classify itself as a two and a half star hotel, but it's actually look, feel and stay like a one star motel. Most importantly, on hotwire, I booked it at $51.00 (less tax etc., after tax it's about $66). Most three to four stars hotels in Houston cost less than $70 and you are able to get a Ramada at about $49.99 or Rodeway Inn at less than that price, but you get better service, better room (did I tell you that their non-smoking room smells with smoke), don't need to book through hotwire for those prices.

Don't fall into their tricks....

I don't know if it was bad timing or just BAD! Rooms were being renovated. I reserved room with 2 beds. Got one with sofa-bed. That would have been acceptable except it got stuck half-way out. They offered to move us the next day, but would have had to move our things for us since we were going to be out. We said that if the sofa bed could be fixed, we'd stay in the room. It didn't get fixed or even put back in our entire stay. We also weren't moved. Minimal continental breakfast. Mold on bathroom shower curtain and tub caulking. I traveled with my 15 yr. old son and would not stay there again. My rate was $29.28 per night by hotels.com or lodging.com. I don't remember which.

I paid $51.00 through hotwire for this hotel, this hotel advertise that they have high speed internet, business center and continental breakfast. I don't mind the breakfast, since Houston got what the heaviest people on earth, who cares about breakfast in hotel.

They don't have high speed internet as what they claimed, and I got to go to other places to get my e-mails. Thus, business travelers, beware.

They don't really have a fully equpped business center, just a run-down computer on the side.

The hotel is also not 2.5 star like what they advertise on hotwire.com, they are indeed a one or two star motel.

Finally, most of the reviewers here stated that they pay $30, but I paid $51.00 because I book through hotwire. My luck....

Priceline.com gave me a reasonable rate for this hotel and it was convenient to my destination so I gave it a try. However, I am unlikely to return for the following reasons:

1. receptionist was rather ill mannered. This was a young man of probably of an Asian-Indian ethnic group who's spoken English required some effort to understand. His answer to most complaints was consistently "What do you expect for this rate?" He also wandered around the lobby barefoot as if still back in his native village. Though breakfast is supposed to be ready at 5 a.m., he didn't begin to set it up until I arrived after 6. When I checked out, he didn't give me a receipt, but encouraged me to leave promptly. He also forgot my wake-up call. (Thankfully I set my own alarm too!)

2. The room was quite stuffy and the furnishings rather worn looking. It smelled stale as if it hadn't seen a thorough cleaning or carpet replacement in some time. Most things were functional, but the clock kept resetting itself to a random time and the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work.

3. Breakfast was a joke. No meat and the apples were mealy - probably not refrigerated. For milk and juice they have a mini-fridge with opened cartons sitting in it - possibly for days. Coffee and water are on the far side of the lobby in a dark little nook. There's only white bread for toast, the jam looked old and to prepare the instant oatmeal you have to take it out past the lobby and get hot water from the coffee nook.

The have a "business center" but guests are limited to 15 minutes per day, and you must pay $0.50 per page for any print outs.

There may be more, but thankfully I didn't experience it!

I can't recommend this place. Perhaps it might do if there were no other choices. Thankfully there are other choices.

I stayed for Friday - Sunday in April and it was a decent hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly and we chatted about restaurants and distance to the event I was attending for Saturday.

A ton of restaurants are close to the hotel.

Has a small outdoor pool but definitely not a scenic location for the swimming pool.
