To be this close to all MD Anderson facilities at such a low rate is really priceless especially during the Covid19 times. I work for a luxury hotel and am very pleased with all the services. My mother is very sensitive to chemicals & odors and the room was just pristine when we arrived. She was so relieved. Great job!

We’ve been staying at the Rotary House for many years! We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else! When you drive up, someone is waiting there to open your door and help with luggage. The service desk is ready and willing to help you get your room situated. The rooms are spotless and very attractive. The cleaning staff is usually always in the hallways and ready to help in anyway needed. Next, the restaurant and quick food areas are great! From a delicious full meal to a grab and go with a variety of selections you can’t go wrong! Being a cancer patient or having a family member as a cancer patient is never easy! I’ve been in both situations. Once in The Rotary House you don’t have to leave unless you just want to. The hospital is just a few steps away or a golf cart ride away. So convenient and easy! Being at the Rotary House takes so much stress away from the patient and the family. We would never want to,stay anywhere else!

Cleanest hotel I've ever been in, which makes sense considering this place if for the exclusive use of patients at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital and their immediate family or care givers. I did find it odd that there was no place to put your bath towel that can be reached from the shower. NO towel bars, or rings or shelves or anything. But I was so happy to have a good place to stay and could go from my room to my partner's hospital room without going to a car or other vehicle. I got the room on less than 24 hours notice after learning that my partner had leukemia and calling MD Anderson to see if they could take him as a patient. We made the first call on a Thursday afternoon and by Friday afternoon he was going to his first appointment with the specialists at MD Anderson. He never got to stay in the hotel because they checked him into the hospital immediately. The restaurant is available late at night, and has very good food. which again is helpful to not have to leave the hotel to get something good to eat.
None of this is free or even low-priced, except when compared to comparable hotels and restaurants in that part of Houston. But if you have a loved one getting treatment at MD Anderson, this is the place to stay if you can get afford it and if they have an opening. Everyone there understands that if you are there, either you or someone close to you is going through a very difficult time, and they seem to try harder to be kind and friendly and helpful.

I arrived at the Rotary House for a week long stay since I’m having surgery. I made my reservation over two months ago for a Queen Suite. This morning I called to confirm. On the “phone” the young woman at the front desk was nice, and she supposedly blocked a nice room on the 11th floor with a “park” view. However, when I arrived around 6:30pm the staff had already given my room away. The manager “Fernando” is totally incompetent, he he could careless that I had been promised a very nice room on the 11th floor. I have no other option but to stay here at the Rotary House, especially since it is attached to MD Anderson.

Never, and I mean NEVER believe the staff here!!!! They will say anything to get you here, and then there is no conscious on their part when they do not keep their word. Especially if you are here paying for a whole week! When they have you here “in person” live knowing that you will most likely stay regardless of room type or floor, then they drop the ball at the front desk and give you an inferior room.

Most all the people staying here are patients at MD Anderson fighting cancer. We are already going through “hell”, and it seems the least the staff could do is make sure when a client/patient is told a room has been blocked for them, is to keep their word.

There are other options for example the newer Marriott Residence Inn on Kirby near the Medical Center District is very nice. Better rooms with separate sitting area, and better price than the Rotary House. However, you have to take a shuttle to get to MD Anderson. MD Anderson either needs to build other connecting hotels to the MDA clinic, and/or hire new staff who is more honest and caring for patients staying at the Rotary House.

When servicing very ill patients who are fighting for their lives, good reviews should be the norm. When you are treated with indifference and inconsideration it’s like a huge black spot on your heart, and it’s inexcusable!

Many of the workers are extremely nice. The food is very plain and not quality food. One of the bar tenders Emmie is one of the best bar tenders ever and she is just great all around.
If you want to use the internet for work, research or just to sign into Netflix or prime you won’t be doing it most of 30% of the time it’s down and does not work at all.
They will tell you to turn things on and off and RE boot. That is not the issue.
They don’t purchase enough WiFi service for a hotel this size. The only reason we stay here is because it’s great for when your very I’ll and can walk
The sky bridge or have some one take you in a wheel chair. It’s connected to
MD Anderson with a sky bridge so you don’t have to drive or take a uber. There are no discounts so you pay for service you don’t get simply because of convenience.

This is a beautiful hotel with helpful and friendly staff, but DO NOT leave anything behind! I left a very expensive set of headphones on the bed, accidentally covered up with blanket, and when I called about them a few hours later, they were not to be found. When I read the review about this very thing, I thought surely not, but it is true. We left the hotel that serves people battling cancer exclusively in a bit of a unsettling time. Hard to believe that the housekeeping staff is untrustworthy, and I had left a tip.

Wonderful rooms, clean, great refrigerator and kitchenette. Nice staff. Great restaurant with Good selection and easy pickup during COVID-19. Quiet. And oh so convenient!!
The WiFi however is terrible. So weak it’s useless. Can’t browse internet, stream tv, etc. can only do the simplest things like email. Desperately need to upgrade the WiFi to be comparable to other hotels.
We’ve stayed here on several occasions, for consultation, surgery, treatments, etc, and we stay because of the convenience. Not the internet!

Was in an Executive Suute and left my expensive swimming suit in suite. Was moved to another room and after contacting hotel security and supervisor of housekeeping, no swimsuit found.

No follow up to my complaint and therefore, housekeeping person now has a $200+ swimsuit.

Very poor ethical/honesty experience and I warn other guests to beware!

We always stay here when my husband has oncology appointments at MD Anderson. Staff is very accommodating and willing to work with the ever changing schedule of dr appointments. Restaurant is a large selection and all is available for room service. Anything you could need is available on site. We rarely leave after checking in.

We are in Houston visiting MD Anderson for medical treatments and we have several rooms. I'm actually writing this from my room on the 7th floor.

1. Just a great location. Even with the skybridge closed for Covid, it is just across the street from the hospital we are utilizing. For us, the location couldn't be better.

2. The parking is easy and efficient.

3. The food and the service there has been thoughtful and wonderful.

4. The staff, most importantly, rivals staff and the experiences I have had in hotels in both the US and Europe that cost thousands a night. I'm not exaggerating. Their patience, their "can-do" attitude and attention to our needs and desires has been amazing. Truly. The staff deserves 6 or 7 stars.

5. The wifi is a disaster. I haven't looked at other reviews to see if others have had the same problem but we've got multiple devices (apple, samsung, dell, etc.) that are struggling to use it at all. Literally at all. Forget having a video meeting, you will be lucky to keep your email current and retrieving and sending emails or documents. I haven't had this happen in 4 or 5 years honestly. I'm not sure the upgrade needed but for those of us trying to juggle work with medical care or even if vacationing in the area, it is supremely difficult.
