This review is strictly on customer service. We were staying because my son was having surgery at a local hospital. Originally we were only staying the night prior to the surgery and in the morning we checked out of the hotel. We noticed about an hr after checking out that we left our sons medication in the mini fridge in the room. I immediately called and let them know we left his medication and asked if they could grab it and keep it refrigerated until we could come back to get it that evening after the surgery. Due to complications from the surgery we ended up having to stay local another night so we decided to stay at the same hotel. Once we got to the hotel I asked for my son's medication and the front desk had no clue what I was talking about; nor did she make any indication that she cared that it was now missing. We got the night shift manager, and he started "looking" for it. As I am aware, he only checked the bistro kitchen and the mini fridge of the room we left it in; it was not in either location. He then told me he was trying to reach the people that worked the front desk that morning to see who spoke with me and get updates. Note during this entire time of trying to find my son's medication, we were the ones having to call or go down to the desk for updates. Never during the day when we were at the hospital nor after rechecking into the hotel did anyone from the hotel call us to provide updates on finding my son's medication. Ultimately at around 10pm (we checked in at 8:30ish pm) did I call down again and was informed by the night shift manager that all of the front desk associates said they didn't speak with me and he still didn't know anything. I asked if he reached out to the housekeeping manager and he said no. The lack of care to figure out where my son's medication went was appalling! I had to wait until the next morning to speak with the GM, so my son never got his NEEDED medication that day. Theresa at the Front Desk was very nice and sympathetic which was completely lacking from the night shift associate and manager. Unfortunately, there was no sympathy or empathy from the GM either. He tried telling me that if his night shift manager didn't find it then it wasn't on property. When I asked why I didn't get a call during the day to confirm my sons medication was or was not found, he told me they don't call guests on lost and found items. The fact that I called asking about it and that I was expecting to be able to come to the hotel later to pick it up AND that it was medication, should have been indiciation that this was important to ME (regardless if he cared, which he obviously didnt). I also asked if he reached out to the housekeeping manager and he said no but that he would (making it seem like doing so was a waste his time). Well guess where it was...in the housekeeping manager's office fridge! And the housekeeping manager had told one of the front desk associates to ensure they communicated with night shift on where my son's medication was so when I came to pick it up they would know A. What I was talking about, and B. Where it was. I worked for Marriott for 8 years for multiple hotels and brands and know for a fact that this level of customer service is SO below Marriott standards and expectations. Yes, I am aware calling guests regarding lost and found items is not a practice; however, this is obviously something medically needed and a courtesy call to let me know (again after I first called asking it be retrieved) is the least that could have been done. And while speaking to both the night shift manager and GM, their lack of care over the situation when they could see how important this was to ME is not acceptable for any customer service representative. There are more professional and courteous ways this SHOULD have been handled by Marriott leadership.

Staff was super helpful with our late check in. Rooms are spacious and clean. There is parking below the hotel and around the building for $8/day which is much cheaper than a lot of the hotels. It’s far enough from MD Anderson to not hear every ambulance that goes by but close enough to be convenient (straight down Main, turn on Holcomb, then turn into MDA). Chick fil a right across the street.

Do NOT stay in this hotel. It wasn’t a great experience from the moment we walked in. The front desk and general manager are extremely unprofessional. 1. Our vehicle was broken into. They knew about it and didn’t inform us. They were not helpful. The general manager informed us it happens often, it’s Houston and deal with it. They do NOT have any security cameras. We waited 3 hours for an officer to have a case number. Other vehicles were broken into the same time as ours and were met with the same unpleasant response. 2. If you want the bathroom light to work, you have to flip the light switch in the hallway on. 3. The air conditioner in part of the hotel was out. Stepping out your hotel room and you have an instant sauna. 4. Coffee is $5 a cup. Bring your own coffee maker. It will pay for itself. 5. Poor customer service all the way around. Marriott needs to come in and totally revamp the hotel, hire a new general manager, train staff how to interact with guests professionally and provide a positive guest experience instead of the “runny poo” we received.

Spacious clean and friendly! Room was newly remodeled. Carolyn at front desk was extremely helpful and courteous as well as very knowledgeable about the workings of the company systems. The pool was an excellent temperature for this hot time of year but the hot tub/spa was not hot enough. Breakfast was fast service but prices seemed high. There is a big supermarket in very close walking distance.

This was my first visit to this location, and I was impressed. Great location with several shops and restaurants nearby. The service was beyond amazing. Eden, and Tyler provided exceptional customer service. Unlike many hotels, they actually show that they care about their guests. This means a lot to a world traveler like myself. I'll definitely be back.

Quiet, comfortable, efficient, and definitely worth paying a visit, fitness, the room, and the hotel itself was not spectacular, but exactly what I have been looking for. Cosy and friendly hotel, liked their room and layout, just slept for a couple of hours and had an early morning flight

Stayed at this hotel for the NCAA Final Four. Each employee we interacted with was polite and helpful, so this is not a reflection of them, but rather, Marriott, who has really gone downhill the past couple years. $400/night, no breakfast included, and their kitchen was having issues so very limited options to purchase, and what there was, was very basic, low-quality, etc. $12 for a breakfast sandwich. The windows in the room look like they’ve never been cleaned, they were disgusting. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was almost zero, and hot water took more than 5 minutes to appear. The hotel itself is a 15-20 minute walk from NRG Stadium, but the area between here and there is typical Houston - nothing but 2nd-tier strip malls, many storefronts/restaurants permanently closed, shopping carts on the sidewalks, just run-down looking. Literally no decent food options walking from here to there. Without many people walking from stadium at night after a game, questionable if you would feel safe. Also, I’m now fully OVER Marriott specifically (but many other brands), going so cheap on service/amenities post-Covid, yet still charging pre-Covid fees. No housekeeping during stay, limited hours on food/drink options, premium pricing on their little “store” in the lobby, etc. I’m a business-owner so fully believe in making profit, but the gouging that this industry is doing under the now-old excuse of “Covid” and “staffing issues” is old, tired and not acceptable. Can’t find staff? Payment more - you’re charging more than pre-Covid, gouging on fees during special events like this, so where’s that money going? This is now becoming one of my top criteria for booking hotel stays, to assure I get good value for my money.
