The hotel was easy to find, in a decent location, and overall acceptable. We were impressed that they had a shuttle that would take you to the local hospitals, seeing that it is in the medical district. We were there to visit the RICE University campus, and it was a very short distance away from our destination. Staff was friendly, things were clean. The only odd thing was that they did not offer any meat with the breakfast. That being said, overall, the breakfast was on par with other experiences. I would recommend the hotel to others and would return there if we need to return to that part of Houston again.

Enjoyed the Junior Suite with a kitchenette including full sized refrigerator and full stove. Room furnishings were very up to date, the bed was fresh and attractive and comfortable. All fixtures were quite new, great shower, no air conditioner odor, reasonably quiet air conditioning. Location is very convenient to the Medical Center with free shuttle to Center and locally. About 20 miles from IAH airport; closer to Hobby bu tthat is served by fewer airlines. Offers discount to medical center patients, call to book.

We needed a place to stay while being seen at MD Anderson. Since we were staying up to a week we needed a place with kitchen facilities since we didn’t want the risk or expense of eating out every meal. We are Diamond with the Hilton brand.

Pros- convenient to MDA. Full kitchen in a two room suite ( no oven) with dishwasher where I fixed all our our meals. Breakfast provided ( hard boiled eggs, yogurt, muffin. ) Separate room where my husband could work if I was sleeping. While I still wiped down surfaces, I found them to be clean. We were able to get plenty of extra towels from housekeeping so they didn’t come in the room and trash put in bags in the hall were quickly picked up. When our appointments were done several days ahead of time they let us check out early with no penalty.

Cons- the floor in the bathroom and kitchen area were filthy. There was no way these were moped in any recent history. There was actually chunks of mud on the bathroom floor. I used sanitizer wipes to scrub the floors. The used wipes were literally black with dirt. Not something you want to do when you arrive. Due to covid we didn’t want any housekeeper in our room cleaning the floor while we were there.

We are coming back for more appointments. We will try another similar type of hotel in the area next time. Hopefully they are more clean. If we come back to this Hampton I’ll bring my own cleaning supplies.

We generally choose to stay at Hampton when traveling because they offer a true ‘suite’ room & have been in some very nice hotels. This one, unfortunately, is not one of their best. While the common areas have been updated, the suite we were in needs attention. While very clean, the bathroom is ‘old’. Toilet paper holder is falling off the wall & tile/grout needs to be deep cleaned.
The complimentary breakfast is average, at best, with ‘fake’ eggs & heat & eat waffles. We have stayed at a Hampton near St Louis with a truly amazing breakfast-real eggs, fresh smoothies & variety of fresh fruit. Too bad that their hotels aren’t consistent. Overall, this is a 3-4 star hotel. Great location, very pleasant & courteous staff, quiet rooms. Expect to pay extra for parking.

We have been staying at the Hampton for over 8 months, fly in every 3 weeks for treatment at MD Anderson, this hotel has gone down hill since a change in management, the last stay 1/5 through 1/11 was the worst our room was FILTHY when we arrived and stayed that way during the visit, STICKY kitchen floor. I achieved gold status with them in 8 months, I hope to never stay there again. I would tell all my friends to try a different place, unless you enjoy a filthy place

Hotel is in close proximity to medical center. Staff is friendly, professional and prompt. Rooms are comfortable. My last stay there were slight problems with bathroom maintenance. It was reported to front desk who offered another room it had a slight odor in it. I traveled with a personal Lysol spray which was used to spray the room.

I've stayed at this hotel almost monthly for ~10 year. Business trips. Unfortunately, the service and amenities have severely declined. The shuttle is not reliable: used to run every 30 minutes, then every 45., now only once/hour; only holds ~10 guests so is often running out of room or running late. This last visit, the ride from my building to the hotel (1/2 mile) took almost 1 hour because I was picked up first and then taken around the medical area to pick up from 3 other locations; the van being used said "Marriott", so I almost missed it! I would have preferred being told it would be an hour before I could be picked up so that I didn't need to waste my time waiting. I chose to walk to/from my destination during the remainder of my stay even with the daytime highs near 100 degrees-F. The coffee station and the breakfast options are somewhat more limited now. This hotel was refreshed with new carpeting/paint/decor several years ago, but it looks like the carpets in both the rooms and the hallways have not been cleaned since. Room was reasonably clean, but some pink soap scum in the corners of the shower. No room cleaning during my 3-day stay, which was OK with me, but when I checked in, the tissues in the bathroom were almost gone. I asked at the desk if housekeeping could leave a new box in my room while I was out that day. The response was, "Well, I'll let them know but if they can't do it you can always come down to the desk to get some." No tissues when I returned that evening; had to go back downstairs to get some. Is this really the new low standard for customer service these days? There are several other Hilton-family hotels in the area. I'm moving on.

Room 1: Third floor. The nightstand was covered in dead insects. Pause. I then opened the bedding. Dead insects were IN the bed, and IN the pillowcases. Went to the phone and discovered the other nightstand was covered in dead insects. I assume the floor was too but didn't squat down to check. The bathroom and windowsill also hosted dead insects.

Room 2: Third floor. Repeat above statement. I was repulsed by the dead bugs in the room and bed. The front desk then offered us an upgrade. I had hoped that meant no bugs.

Room 3. Fifth floor. A suite. Great. 2 rooms to encounter dead bugs. By now it was after 10 PM and not finding bugs in the bed, we stayed. There were dead bugs elsewhere in the rooms.

Management's response: We can't refund your room b/c you prepaid.

Tiana Wilson, Operations Supervisor, wrote to me: "Maintaining a clean atmosphere within our guest rooms and common areas is always a key priority, especially during these unprecedented times. On behalf of the entire team at the Hampton Inn & Suites Houston Medical Center. I sincerely apologize for falling short of not only meeting your expectations, but ours as well. Rest assured; the feedback provided will be shared with the appropriate hotel team to ensure we consistently deliver upon guest expectations."

That's it? A form letter?

There were hundreds and hundreds of insects in these rooms. It was disgusting. We checked out at 9:30 the next morning. Beware, Travelers.

I’ve stayed at this location 3 times when I’ve come to Houston for treatment. It’s a mile from the hospital with food and grocery options nearby. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and my rooms have always been clean. I’m also a Hilton Honors member and this has been the quietest location I’ve stayed at after my infusions.
