This is my most favorite hotel. Every employee works to provide top notch service, from the front desk to Housekeeping, to Food Service. I feel like a honored guest when I return each year.
The bed is so comfortable. The room is laid out well.
Location is everything in a large city and this one is perfect for conventions, fine dining and great, fun things to do in the area.

Me and my husband stayed here last weekend (we were going to the UFC fights at the Toyota center). I will start with all the positives. The valet is quick and the attendants were really friendly. The lobby and check in areas were clean and beautifully decorated. The check in process was quick and efficient. (We are Hilton honors members) we stayed in room 12109 and we had a view of the Toyota center (really cool at night when its all lit up). Our bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. We ate downstairs at Papasitos Cantina. (This restaurant is located in the lobby to the right of the main entrance past the bar area) The food was good and the staff was friendly. As for negatives... there are only a few. When we arrived at our room there was old room service trash and a toilet paper roll from housekeeping by our door. The Papasitos did not take same day reservations so there was a 45 min wait for a table so we decided to eat at the bar which obviously was crowded because of the UFC event that was happening right next door. And lastly, in the morning when I went to take a shower the little toiletries (shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc) had been previously used. Luckily we had packed a travel bar of soap. While I was taking a shower my husband tried to make us coffee. They had 2 k cups, and 1 was used already. When he poured the creamer into the 1 cup of coffee he was able to make the creamer was chunky. Needless to say we used the Starbucks in the lobby. Even though most of the things are small they added up to be annoying, disappointing, and gross. Not exactly what we were expecting from a nicer Hotel like this.

This hotel is located in between the George R Brown convention center and the Toyota Center. They also offer a floor of event spaces. Self parking and valet are available.

This hotel spent part of the downtime in 2020 upping their game.
Everything is fresh and so welcoming.
Staff is stellar as always.
They are not serving breakfast in the executive lounge- but they are giving breakfast voucher the Starbucks Cafe located right in their lobby.
Rooms are refreshed with every single thing you need including luscious new linens.

Recently was in town for a couple nights, and opted for the Hilton Americas over a few similar options nearby due to a considerable amount of points I had available to cash in, which offset the going nightly rate (at the time of check-in, roughly $300 per).

I will start with the bad - housekeeping, as in most Hilton properties at the moment, is lacking. The business traveler in me looks for things that some may not the moment I walk in a room, such as how clean the shower/sink are, if there is visible dust on drawers/desks, and pulling back the sheets/spread. Unfortunately here dust and a dirty shower greeted me.

A call to housekeeping addressed the matter, however still not up to par. The restaurant options inside the hotel are sufficient for a short stay, however if you venture out there are plenty to choose from in a 3 mile radius.

Overall, the staff was helpful. The valet was overworked but kept a smile on their face. The lobby bar was busy at night with the Astros playing in town. The employees tried to remind people to wear masks in communal areas like the lobby, however were unsuccessful.

Would I stay here if I had enough points to cover my stay? Yes. Would I pay the rate that was advertised at the time I booked? No.

We stayed for one night following a concert. The location is perfect for any event at the GRB or Toyota Center...literally steps from either venue. Everyone we encountered, from valets to front desk staff, was pleasant and efficient. I do want to especially commend the lobby bar server Akeinya . After the concert there was a standing room only crowd and the bar was packed. Through it all, she was professional, friendly, and seemingly unflappable. She was personable and a great representative for the Hilton brand. The room was comfortable and clean with a large bathroom and we enjoyed a nice view of Discovery Green. Be advised that there is construction nearby and some equipment noise. Also, the executive lounge is closed, despite what the website says, and the current HHonors deal of a $12 pp credit for food and beverage doesn't go far here, Food is extremely expensive ($19 for spinach dip? really?) All in all, a very nice stay...just be prepared to spend a lot if you eat or drink.

Beautiful hotel in great condition. It was similar in price to other hotels in the area. I was very happy with the cleanliness of the hotel and room, the security of the building, easily accessible downtown activities and locations. We were here for a concert at House of Blues and it was a short walk of only a few blocks away. The train to get around the city and to the museum district was a bit further, maybe 3/4 a mile.
The pool was indoors with an outdoor terrace available and a hot tub. The fitness center was very well equipped. It had many weight machines and free weights in addition to many machines. The restaurant on-site and room service was expensive so we did not use them. There were some complaints about the elevator speed in other reviews, but I found the elevators to be fast. I was on the 9th floor. The 9th floor still had a good view. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 was because housekeeping was up early knocking on doors. It didn’t seem anyone was answering or wanting service and I could hear them clearly knocking and saying “housekeeping”. 30 seconds later they were doing that again on another door. The policy states they won’t clean your room unless you schedule service. We did not want any service. However, they did come and knock on our door in the afternoon even though we did not schedule service and then they knocked on our door again the morning of our departure at 9am even though checkout was not until 11 and we had not checked out yet. There was no do not disturb sign in the room to stop them either. They could use better communication to the housekeeping staff of what rooms have requested service or checked out to avoid unwanted wake-up knocks at the door.

After finally arriving after a long drive on a stormy night we were exhausted and hungry. After checking in we decided to just go to one of the restaurants inside the hotle only to find out that they were closing early due to the weather. We walked outside to look at neighboring places to eat but didn't want to walk in the rain so we decided to try another hotel restaurant, the 1600 Bar. I dreaded it at first knowing that we would pay a premium price for some ok food but we had to eat somewhere. Upon being seated, we were greeted by our server, Renel. She was amazing and made our dining experience exceptional. My daughter is gluten free and Renel was very patient and kind to help us find her something that she could eat so late at night. Throughout our meal she was attentive to our needs and was never far if we needed her. Let's just say that our dining experience changed from a last resort to a pleasurable meal In fact, we ate there again the next night and asked for Renel when we arrived. The food was good but the hospitality put our dining experience over the top. I applaud Renel and the job she does and hope to see her again sometime as we stay there often.

Expectations were high before my first visit to Houston.
Sadly, the accommodation at Hilton Americas Houston was to me a great disappointment.
It’s been a long time since I’ve encountered a more filthy and dusty hotel room. Even though I, during my stay, requested extra housekeeping, that did not make things any better, as they just cleaned the center of the room and the most visible and obvious places.

Further to my disappointment, and since my booking was unclear on whether it included breakfast or not, I specifically asked the receptionist at check-in about this. It was then confirmed that “everything is included”. I was equally surprised to learn that I was charged more than $31 for a quite mediocre breakfast buffet. What a ripoff!

At checkout I presented the receptionist with my complaint and experiences, and was promised that someone from the hotel would “contact me shortly”. 10 days later, I still haven’t heard anything from them. Great customer service - NOT!

Our family group of 8 stayed in two rooms for 2 days over Christmas Day. We were upgraded to the Executive level rooms due to Diamond status. Checkin was smooth and the valet was quite helpful. We were very early and they were accommodating of all requests and circumstantial issues. The hotel lobby and surroundings were quite impressive. Rooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and the amenities were quite adequate. Executive lounge was on the 24th floor and was one of the best lounges that I have ever visited in the Hilton chain. Definitely not an afterthought like several of the other lounges that I have seen in other hotels. Views of downtown Houston were spectacular and the coffee machine, water (even had San Pellegrino sparkling water!,) drinks and other small snacks availabilities was very good. The breakfast and appetizer events were moved to the restaurant downstairs over the Christmas holiday, but this turned out to be a fortuitous change for us since the breakfast there was quite the spread with delicious made-to-order omelettes, pastries, usual American bacon/sausage/eggs, etc and awesome bread pudding. There was even a section of a honeycomb for folks that wanted to trying chewing on that! The kids in our group went crazy for the two breakfasts that we had. Parking was a bit expensive, but whatever. Hotel is right next to Toyota Center, convention center and also overlooks Discovery Park. Walking around on Christmas night was quite enjoyable. Spa was closed over the two days we were staying.

Starting with check-in, the customer service was great. I asked for a microwave and they brought it immediately. The city had a big water main break that affected the quality of the water at the hotel. They jumped in immediately and gave us all as many bottles of water that we needed. Hotel room was spotless and very comfortable. Check out was a breeze too. The restaurant in the hotel was also was very accommodating to my food allergies.
