I was in Houston on business from 3/10/20-3/14/20 and stayed at this hotel. When I arrived and realized the hotel was right next to the tollway I was wondering if it would be noisy. It was not! During check in the staff was friendly, informative, and helpful. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The bed was comfy, huge closet with a lot of hangers. The kitchenette had a nice size fridge, small sink, coffee pot, two burner stove, and dishwasher. The room has lots of drawers, cabinets, and great work desk. The TV had a lot of channels , more than I've ever had in a hotel room before. I am not a breakfast person, but upon check in I was told breakfast is 6-9 during the week and 7-10 on the weekends. The staff here was so friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area!

Room Tip: I stayed on the top floor (NW side I think?) away from the tollway and it was very quiet.

Stayed at this TownePlace Suites for one night. Very late check in was prompt and smooth. I got a top floor room in a quiet area of the hotel. The bed was wonderful, but there are other parts that are less so. The pillows seems old. I noted that the carpet was frayed in several places. The HDTV is on the smallish side of televisions in hotel rooms these days, and the old fashioned curtain rod shower/bath combo is out of date. The water pressure was sufficient but not great. I liked that they streamed DirectTV and its multiple channels.

Breakfast buffet was so so. Scrambled eggs and fresh waffles rule, although there are other choices to suit your taste or diet needs. The breakfast area is small but fortunately there was no wait to get a table.

Parking was sufficient and free, definitely a plus. It's easy to get onto and off the freeway/tollway right across from the hotel.

All in all, for a one night stay, it did the trick. I slept well and was comfortable. Certainly for the price paid on a weekend night ($101 Senior Rate), it was well worth it.

The people were very friendly but maintenance was always unavailable except to change a light bulb. The phone in the room didn’t work so we used our cellphones to ask for towels or service. When we did ask for towels or to make the bed, they were quick to do so. The room was ok, had a funny little smell, but easy to get over it. The bed was hard and uncomfortable for me. We were there for 5 nights. Ugh!

The room overall was clean but severely lacked amenities for a suite with kitchen. There was no coffee maker, one was promised but not provided after requesting from the front desk. There were no drinking glasses and there were not any pots or pans. Given only the availability of a "grab and go" cold breakfast this is disgraceful. Since we were only there for 1 night I didn't press the issue. More trouble than it's worth but it would have been nice to be able to pick up a few items at a local grocery for a hot breakfast.

Hotel is a bit old but maintained satisfactorily. The dark yellowish wall color gives the hotel a dull and old-fashion feeling.

The sofa bed could do with a proper cleaning. I had to go to reception to get bedsheets and blanket for the sofa bed. No extra pillow and blanket in the room.

The kitchenette was supposedly be equipped with pots and pans. Again, I had to collect from reception.

Breakfast was good, esp the Texas shaped waffles. However, the bananas provided were too green to be eaten.

The lady in charge of the breakfast is service-oriented. Reception staff is high-handed.

Overall, I would return because of the reasonable room rate paid.

For the Marriott bonvoy members they forgot the promotions even when the website says that you qualify. And you ask them and they say they’re going to talk with the manager about it but never got a response.
For my status of Marriott bonvoy I was able to upgrade the room where I was staying and I asked them but they said one thousand excuses. Anyway.
If your expecting stay one month there and get the taxes back after that that’s not going to happen. 2 times I staid more than one month and they came out with excuses like the stay was made of two reservations.
The breakfast used to be really good. Now it’s just fine.
There’s just one washer available in the laundry room.
The rooms are very decent but they’re need maintenance
The patio and umbrella area need attention, always dirty.
They appliances to lend at the front desk it’s not more than one small pan. No blender no anything else.
The front desk people, Anthony is very nice also Raquel. The rest of the crew, got zero on costumer service.
The housekeeper are very nice, educated and helpful.
But in general the place has potential but needs to be exploded.

Perfect location right by the beltway...whether to go shopping in the Galleria area, food tripping in Chinatown(Bellaire strip), or getting some culture downtown. Daily breakfast available and complimentary. Pleasant and courteous office staff as well as ancillary staff. Contemporary design, well maintained, clean each time I come. Highly recommend

As I was reading these reviews I had to double check that this was the same hotel I stayed at because our experience was not good.

First, the positive. The breakfast is fine and plentiful. Standard motel food. The coffee is available 24 hours. The staff are very friendly and professional but not very helpful.

Now, the bad. This is a "we'll leave the light on for ya" budget level hotel. The rooms are very, very small. There is literally only room for the bed and a small area to walk around it. It's probably the smallest room we've even been in-like your kid's bedroom at home.

Additionally, the noise is terrible. We can hear people in the rooms next to us talking at normal levels. We're on the 4th floor and can even hear people talking in the parking lot. There is no sound proofing on the windows so the traffic noise is crazy loud too. Also, since it's rates are commissionable it's on the list for booking groups for large scale youth events in Houston, of which there are plenty. So, for us we had kids running all over all day and night.

So, while the rate is attractive, if you value your sleep and/or comfort, this isn't the place.

Our experience at this hotel so far exceeded our expectations! We traveled to Houston with 35 high school students for a robotics competition. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs the entire time we were there. If you are looking for a luxury resort, this isn't that, however, the staff may treat you as if it is. The hotel is a little on the basic side, and maybe a little older, but it was clean and provided everything we needed. I can't stress enough how great the management and staff were in helping us have the best stay possible.

Miss Ashley at the front desk was so awesome. A lot of people don’t understand when you’re allergic to feathers. I called her before I made it to the hotel and she made sure all of the feather pillows were removed from the room and replace me with smile you made my day.
