Nestled in the heart of Houston, the Hilton Houston Plaza/Medical Center offers a strategic location that guests often appreciate for its convenience and safety. While the hotel's cleanliness generally receives positive remarks, with particular praise for its well-kept common areas, some visitors have had issues with housekeeping. The rooms are noted for their spaciousness, yet critiques of outdated decor, noise insulation, and AC problems surface occasionally. Service quality varies, with experiences ranging from friendly to unhelpful interactions. Despite some commendation for room amenities, the overall value is questioned by guests who feel the costs outweigh the benefits.

Well we had 4 people in our room and they gave us 3 towels had to request more towels multiple times before we got them.

The pool has a lift chair that did not work and we had a person in our group that could have used it, but if there was a walk in pool that would have been great but at least make sure lift is working.

Our room over looked a sitting area and another building was beside us. Well the curtains do not close so everyone across the way can see into your room, and at night there is so much light in the room it’s hard to sleep, really needs some curtains.

It's well located, and the room was large and clean. But overall the experience was a bit Travelodge, and the hotel feels tired and dated. The in room air conditioning was noisy and smelt of damp. The hotel has no proper restaurant for breakfast, just a snack bar counter selling terrible coffee in the weirdly dingy lobby area. Luckily the room, oddly, has a fridge and kitchen sink, pus a coffee machine, so if you can find a grocery store (not easy in Houston) you can fix breakfast for yourself. There's a decent sized pool but it doesn't open until 9am so no swims before work, and it closes at 9pm. A mini gym is open all hours, and has a handy fridge full of bottled water - I raided it a lot as they don't provide bottled water in the room.

Rooms are spacious, quiet and impeccable clean. However for what you pay you don’t get that much compared to other places. Front staff was pretty unfriendly and not really interested in answering q’s, or explain check out time, amenities etc… you have to ask or find out yourselves. The restaurant has almost no vegan options especially for breakfast, Starbucks coffee and pastries mostly. The lobby and eating area feels cold, business like, no charm., unclean tables. They don’t really offer much for complementary cosmetics in the room, which sucks if you travel lightly and don’t bring your own.

This Hilton lived up to my expectations for the chain. Clean room, responsive staff and quality amenities available. I travel mainly for business and being able to get a meal early or late is important to me. Communication via the app made it easy to schedule a room cleaning or ask for additional sundries to be delivered.

I have been a patient at the Houston medical center since 1986 and have been at this location many times. Nothing beats the one bedroom suite with a shower. It is priced right and its amenities are just right. The staff is efficient, effective and compassionate. It's location on Travis keeps you from the madness of noise and traffic of Main and Fannin yet you are a short walk (2-3 blocks) from the best medical center in the country. And don't forget, you are down the road from Rice Village with a very eclectic set of restaurants - important for a foodie like me!

My daughter and I stayed here on a visit to Houston for the Madonna concert. The hotel is lovely and the area is beautiful. We got a suite so that my daughter wouldn't have to deal with my snoring. We came back to the hotel at around 2:00 a.m. to hear moaning in the next room from the living room in our suite. The walls are paper thin in this hotel! On that same note, I was awakened at 7:45 a.m. the next morning by the woman in the room next to the bedroom in my suite talking on the phone. I could hear her conversation word for word, "Oh for real," and "No he didn't!" and "Well I think you should just tell him" and on and on. This problem could be solved by installing white noise machines in the room, as I've seen in other dated hotels that have this problem. (Tip: bring a box fan for white noise, if you can). Another problem was the lack of bedding for the pull-out sofa in the living room. Most hotels will have this put away in a closet or dresser, so we were expecting this. We called the front desk at 2:15 a.m. after looking for it, and the front desk man said he didn't have any more blankets at this hour, just sheets. My daughter asked if he could send them up, and he said no because he doesn't have anyone to bring them to us. So we had to go down to the front desk after 2:15 a.m. to pick up two flat sheets, no fitted sheet, and no blanket. He made it seem like it was our fault for not asking sooner. I told my daughter that I could ask him to get us a blanket from an empty room, but she said no because he said he doesn't have a helper right now. She ended up being cold in the middle of the night and came in and woke me up (Tip: bring a blanket). Needless to say, between this and the noise, we got little sleep. And like the other reviewers, we're wondering why advertise a roof-top bar if you aren't going to have it open on a Friday night? We ordered a pizza at the food counter and proceeded to the bar to have a couple of drinks while we waited for it. After about 20 minutes, my daughter went to check on it and the man said, "A few more minutes. What has it been, like 5 minutes?"

The highlights: the sweet young lady at the front desk offered me a late checkout when I inquired about the checkout time, so we got to check out at noon. The bartender was nice and the drinks were good. After we ate we had a few slices of pizza we wanted to save, but we were in a hurry to get to the concert, the Uber was on its way, and the line at the elevators was long. We asked the same young lady at the front desk if she could hold the pizza box for us, and she offered to take it up to the room for us. We asked for her name the next day, and we were told it was Claudette (the young lady with braces).

ej4u, thanks for sharing your recent experience. It's regrettable to hear of the noise disturbances you faced in your suite, alongside the shortage of certain amenities. We're always working to fix these issues, and suggestions like white noise machines are appreciated. The miscommunication with bedding is something we'll look into. Our guests should never feel inconvenienced, particularly during late hours, so we're sorry that you had to come down to the front desk to collect the sheets. On a positive note, we're thrilled that you found enjoyment from interactions with our helpful colleague, Claudette, and appreciated the hospitality from our bartender. Also, it's comforting to know you enjoyed the beauty of our hotel and the surroundings. Your comments continue to enhance our services and we appreciate your taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope you'll reconsider and grant an opportunity to better cater to you in the future.

I stay at so many hotels in this area because I have a heath issue and I can warranty this is the best option for value for far.
The staff is amazing, from front desk, housekeeping and restaurants. A+ all the way. Friendly, willing to go the extra mile and always with a smile and warming welcome.
Mr. Ozok (Manager) is amazing and available all the time to resolve any request immediately and on the best way possible. Renoi on front desk always with a smiles and willing to help right the way. Mrs Abigail supervisor from housekeeping department top of the notch willing to accommodate to our times to clean the room at the time we request everyday. And the gentleman on the cafeteria on the lobby willing to do the extra mile everyday on our food requests with special diets.
Wow, what a great staff !!!
The property is a little old but has need updated recently and is in really good shape. Rooms are really clean, the a/c central system is a little be old and a little noisy but nothing to worry. The rooms have two bathrooms (only one have shower) and have a large living room with the first bathroom, a coach, tv and desk
And on separate room are the beds with an other tv and bathroom. You feel you are on your own apartment with plenty of space. Have a Frigidaire, coffee maker and all you can need.
Parking is indoor with direct access to hotel via elevator. We feel vey secure with cameras all around and security on the property.
Pool is nice and have a great bar near it.
I will stay on this hotel every time I am on the area without doubt.

Hotel poorly maintained, food and beverage terrible and overpriced, parking inconvenient and service was poor. As a diamond member I was not offered a food/beverage credit or any perks or loyalty rewards. Requests for room maintenance went unaddressed and this property charged a premium for everything. My whole experience felt designed to take advantage of people seeking medical treatment in the area. I would not recommend this property and I won’t stay here again.

Your feedback lets us know what we're doing wrong and where we can improve, Rick T. We are discouraged to hear your experience with us did not come with the exceptional customer service we are known to provide. It is unfortunate to hear that you had problems with your dining options, parking, service, and maintenance requests, and we wish we would have been more efficient at finding an immediate solution. We will address this with our management team to make sure we do better going forward. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

For context, I have been in hundreds of hotels over the years and I have also stayed in this hotel a total of 4 times since 2014. I really felt like things were nickel and dimed. My room had only two paper coffee cups, nothing for either bathroom in my suite. I prefer to drink water from a glass, and when I asked for any glass cup, from the room service staff, to the hotel desk, to the Shamrock Lounge Bar, I was told that the policy was no glasses to be given out. I mean in all seriousness, is an actual glass a rare commodity for a hotel at these rates? When I went to make coffee after my first night, all 4 of my coffees for the simple Keurig machine were decaf. Would it hurt to make sure they were half and half? Just reflective of my experience
