My parents rented the Forest Country Retreat and Mansion on Sawmill Lake for them and all seven of their daughters, husbands and grandkids. Only four daughters spent the night, but we stayed in the mansion and my parents stayed in the cabin with all of the kids. It was absolutely PERFECT! We grilled burgers and hotdogs while the kids chased...

Wow where do I start? I absolutely LOVE everything that Texas Forest Country Retreat has to offer! This is hands down the most beautiful place I've ever been- it's tucked away in the beautiful pines of East Texas. From the first time we (my husband and I) set eyes on the Mansion on Sawmill Lake we knew we had to...

We stayed two nights in this lovely home. It was very romantic. We had a sun room connected to our bedroom. The host does not live in this home but allows guests to have full roam of the place. We enjoyed the huge fireplace in the front living room. It made the experience so much more comfortable and inviting. The...

My husband and I stayed at The Mansion on Sawmill Lake for two nights in early December. We roomed in the main house, and a wonderful historic building it was. The Texas history associated with the property is really interesting, and was a definite bonus; it was fun to explore. I felt like we were going back to a quieter...

My wife and I chose the Mansion on Sawmill Lake as our place to stay, and it was more than we could have hoped for. The historic mansion and the surrounding land are simply beautiful. For those that like to read a little, there's a great deal of interesting history about the area formerly known as Manning. Books and pamphlets...

This place is practically in the middle of nowhere - which we loved! We stayed at the Sawmill Mansion (main B&B) and it was a full house. We visited Beaver Creek and if were to come back again, that's what we'd book - very private and practically your own pond to fish in. Truly lovely place. Lovely innkeepers as well...

My husband and I finally got to spend a quiet trip without the kids. We loved this country retreat! Beautiful property and very accommodating staff. We are visiting from Paris and absolutely love how country and down home this place is! We will return!

Wow! What an awesome place! We stayed at Beaver Creek (log cabin). This log cabin is literally down a gravel road in the middle of the woods. Absolutely no other properties within site. The main B&B is about 2 miles away. The cabin is well built with that rustic homey feel. It has a full kitchen and all the amenities of...
