Really loved this hotel. The staff was very nice, the hotel was clean, and the town was perfect. They have an area to run in across the street at Gage Gardens. The room was very clean as well. This hotel takes a lot of pride in their history and for the town. Definitely recommend!

We hadn't been back to the Gage in years and were so pleased that it was even better than we remembered. We stayed in one of the rooms in Los Portales rather than the actual hotel and loved the rustic Mexican decor. It was a quiet mid -week visit but there were plenty of other people in the bar and...

We recently spent two nights at the Gage- when planning a Big Bend trip we first intended to stay at the lodge in the National Park but it was booked full, as I understand it often is. The next nearest choice was the Gage, and it turned out to be a delight. Our room was in the historic building, and...

This hotel is awesome. Service is fantastic, staff kind, restaurant tasty, and elegantly thematic of the environs. It also seems extra lovely because it is, as you know, in the middle of nowhere! We stayed here one night before a couple nights in Big Bend. It was a great respite on a long drive, and the juxtaposition of elegant rustic...

Hotel is well restored and the staff was very helpful. The restaurant next door is an excellent but maybe a little expensive for the location. The hotel is a one hour drive to Big Bend National Park which makes it a great base for your visit to this area. We did not give the Gage a 5 rating because they...

During our recent trip to Southwest Texas, I and my bride made the Gage Hotel our headquarters for 5 nights. We had never been to the area and wanted to explore the Big Bend National Park region, so headed that way right after Christmas. I am a fan of Historic Hotels, and this one did not disappoint. We spent the...

Returning from a trip to Houston, my husband and I decided to take our time back to New Mexico. We had read about the Gage Hotel and thought we would take a chance and stop by to see if there were any rooms available and sure enough they had a couple. I cannot tell you just how wonderfully relaxing the...

We stayed in the best of all of the lodging, the Captain Shephard Carriage House. It was a quiet duplex apart from the main center of their units. Caution, it is quite expensive. The interior was quite modern, dark, but very comfortable. The sound from the railroad was very dominant at night and we were glad to be the furthest...

Really enjoyed our room in this historic hotel. Nice furnishings, comfortable and spacious. A little pricey but they are one of a very few places to stay close to the park. Spend some time talking to the friendly staff. Warning! There is a 4:15 am train that goes right by!! No problem for us we enjoyed the early morning star...

My beautiful wife of 41 years and I wanted to hike in Big Bend National Park for our anniversary. We decided to stay at the Gage Hotel and drive the one hour or so everyday into the park...great choice! The hotel was very western quaint and the staff was quite friendly! Also, the hotel restaurant was at least 4 star...
