My husband & I recently spent the night here while in the area to see family. We were greeted enthusiastically by Paul who took great delight in showing us around the inn. We walked to downtown McKinney for dinner and enjoyed the walk back in the late evening. We felt safe everywhere we went and were glad to return to the comfy bed in the room. Breakfast the next day was just what I wanted and, again, we enjoyed the hospitality of both owners. You should definitely check this place out!! We will be back.
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. It is absolutely adorable. It was cute and lovely. We enjoyed the whole experience. The owner is so kind and warm! We would recommend this place over and over again! Definitely staying here again. The food was delish & everything was so clean.
Fun Spring weekend for four in McKinney. The Red Gate Inn is a wonderfully restored older house near downtown. Clean, comfortable, spacious with good WIFI. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch as well as sitting in front of fireplace in the family room. The host, Paul, was attentive without being intrusive.
A great friend of the family had the mom's 90th birthday celebration at the Red Gate Inn. Wow was it fun! They catered awesome food like artichoke hearts and stuffed mushrooms, 3 tiered birthday cake, and pizza for the younger set. Everybody had plenty. The Inn has many places for private conversations. Because it is a bed and breakfast, there are bedrooms as well as a large great room and another sitting room. There even is a nice porch out front for relaxing. It wasn't used but they have a large area in the back for outdoor activities...Quinceañeras or weddings or just a BIG PARTY. We were not aware there was such a versatile venue for celebrations. We look forward to our next visit.
The Red Gate Inn experience for my wife and I was a fantastic 2 night stay. The beautiful Victorian home was immaculate and the Innkeepers were superb! Paul helped us with our luggage, gave us a tour of the entire B&B. The amenities are top notch and the food is fantastic. We will be back again!!! We recommend it to any one who would love to stay somewhere that caters to your every need with beautiful historic McKinney square right around the corner!
