Nestled by the Aegean Sea with its own private beach, Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso is lauded for its picturesque setting and tranquil atmosphere, a stone's throw away from central Athens. While the staff's attentiveness earns praise from many, some guests have experienced service inconsistencies.
Clean, well-appointed rooms offer sea views and comfort, yet occasional Wi-Fi and noise issues arise. The hotel's amenities, including dining options, are generally appreciated, but extra costs and limited spa access have led some to question the overall value.

We recently had the great fortune of being able to book a trip to Greece. I wanted to stay somewhere near the place that I lived as a child, Glyfada, so we chose the Divani Apollon Palace. 45 years ago, it was just known as the Apallon Palace and my mother had an art show there so it had a special place in my childhood memories.
Our stay was short, only three days, as we were off to other places in Greece. Our three days here were absolutely magical.
The staff at Divani were just amazing always helpful, always smiling and so gracious. The way we were treated here just made my heart swell. The breakfast buffet was simply off the charts, both in quality and selection and at one point I told my wife I wish I could have this breakfast every morning for the rest of my life. Housekeeping staff were unbelievably accommodating and we ended up tipping them extra every single day. The on-site restaurants were fantastic and additionally, there were at least four other four-star four and five star restaurants within a few hundred feet of the hotel. The hotel has a private beach with really comfortable chaise lounges, umbrellas and beanbag chairs, a bar and restaurant and again-incredibly warm staff.
We’re really sad to be leaving even though we still have a major adventure ahead. I can’t imagine a better way to have started this vacation, I’m about to tear up just writing this.

We absolutely loved the Divani Apollon Resort. The location is gorgeous, right on the Aegean and they have their own small beach with chairs, umbrellas and beach bar plus 2 lovely pools - one of which is saltwater and amazing. The rooms are large, well appointed and comfortable and all have sea views. The restaurants were good and service at them, pool and beach side was great. Really attentive - especially the pool and beach servers and towel attendants. So hard working and nice. That all said, for a 5 star resort, the front desk & concierge staff are really lacking. I emailed ahead that we were arriving early and if possible, would like early check in. I also emailed the concierge desk about activities. I never heard back from the concierge and when I arrived and asked them, they didn't seem to care that they never responded to me and just handed me some brochures. I'd hardly call that doing their job or giving any type of customer service. Most of the front desk staff were equally lacking. We arrived very early and didn't expect to be able to check in, but the woman we spoke to was not only not welcoming, she seemed annoyed we got there so early. We were coming off an island cruise and had no choice but to arrive early. I asked if there was someplace we could change and use the pool while we waited and she didn't give us any real direction, just to go to the lower level. She also told us to go to the beach next door and pay 42 Euro for loungers (when the hotel has free loungers and umbrellas at their little beach so why tell us to go elsewhere??). I asked if there was any place we could get coffee or some water while we waited and she told us we'd have to pay full price for the buffet since we hadn't been checked in. $40 for a cup of coffee! Most hotels, luxury or not, greet you warmly and welcome you. Not make you feel unwelcome. And we have regularly been offered a beverage while we waited. Luckily another front desk attendant stepped in and told the breakfast manager to let us sit and enjoy some coffee. Later when I came back at check in time and inquired about our room she told me it was likely still not ready. Even though it was standard check in. Then the next day the gentleman at the front desk said they could help us with dinner reservations so I asked him to book us the restaurant across from the hotel on the beach. He said he would call if there were any issues reserving. When we stopped into the restaurant they told us they didn't have a reservation for us. Why offer to book if you're not gong to do it? I could just have gone online and done it myself. I've read many reviews of similar experiences to ours - the pool and beach staff are great, the hotel amenities and rooms are lovely, the front desk staff is lacking. It is a very easy thing to fix and I hope they do as otherwise, it's a fantastic resort and one we'd love to return to.

Dear GMM0, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback following your recent stay at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso. I am delighted to hear that you loved our facilities and most of our staff’s service. Your positive comments are truly appreciated. However, I am deeply sorry to learn about your disappointing experience with our reception and concierge departments. Your feedback is invaluable, and I sincerely apologize for the lack of assistance you encountered. This is not reflective of the Greek hospitality we offer to our guests and of course, of the high standards we strive to maintain. I assure you that I will be addressing these concerns with the respective teams to ensure improvements are made. Small details indeed make a significant difference, and we are committed to delivering the exceptional service expected of a five-star hotel. Thank you once again for your constructive feedback and for bringing these issues to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a flawless experience on your next visit. Best regards, Dimitris Perrakis Hotel General Manager

With a view of the blue Aegean in front of it, the Divani has an enviable location. A quiet, top class sanctuary just outside a busy city. This is where you want to retreat after a busy day and breathe in the fresh sea air. An ancient chapel and a small church just outside the hotel add to the ethereal atmosphere. The staff here are top caliber people whose goal is to provide their guests with every possible comfort. Nothing is too much trouble. Ask and it shall be done with a smile. The rooms are large, airy with breathtaking views and are well taken care of by diligent cleaning staff. The hotel also provides great food (love their breakfasts!) but within a few meters there are top class fish restaurants on the water. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Will definitely return.

Oh how I loved thee, Divani Apollon! The diva indeed of the Athenian Rivera. In your heady days of membership of the Leading Hotels of the World, it was always a delight to stay with you.
As a LHW member, there were always treats in the room - bottles of wine, fresh fruit and a welcome card from the hotel manager. No longer.
In those days, an upgrade meant a better room, always looking out to sea over the pools. Now, an upgrade means a room road-side above the entrance.
In your heyday, rooms were spotless. Now, dead bugs on the floor when I arrived were still there when I left. Coffee stains on the floor were not cleaned up. The carpets in the corridors needed vacuuming.
In the golden era, evening turndown meant a tidy up, curtains drawn, lights softly on, replenished water and toiletries, a chocolate on the pillow. Now, evening turn down gets missed and when it happens, means only the bare basics.
You used to excel with your staff, who were constantly alert to guests needs. Now, there is marked deterioration; at check in, cases are left at the other end of the reception desk for the guests themselves to take to their room; waiting staff in your cafes are nowhere to be seen, guests have to seek them out, and have to ask for coffee 2 times at breakfast.
Your clientele used to be classy, and you wanted to stay at a hotel with them. Now, one’s poolside peace and night time rest is disrupted by unhindered noisy family groups with no respect for other guests.
In the good old days, it was not required to go through airport level security every time you came in and out, because you valued individuals over corporate events. Now you are just another hotel on the conference circuit, run for people who will stay with you for 3 nights but will not return.
Lady Diva, it is time to recognize your glory is faded. Your fifth star is badly tarnished. Allow me to solve your identity crisis, and urge you to forget long standing guests such as me, and focus only on your conference business. Accept you are deserving of only four stars as you are fooling no-one that you are still a top notch hotel.
This loyal supporter is loyal no longer, and you will not see me again.

We stayed at the Divani Apollo Suites which is part of the Divani Apollo Palace. At the Apollo Suites they only provide accommodation. For anything else you will need to walk about 100 meters up the road for all other facilities you require. These include, breakfast, lunch or dinner, bars, pools, beach. The suite we were allocated was extremely good size but that is as far as it goes. The decor, well outdated and poorly maintained. The balcony is overlooked by an old block of flats. You will need to keep the curtains closed to have any privacy. The suite was kept well cleaned with good and comfortable bedding. As for the bathroom it has all accessories one would expect in a 5* hotel. Bath on the small size and difficult to get in the bath due to the space between the sink worktop and the shower screen. I find it extremely uncomfotable that anybody's wife has to walk 100 meters up the main road, in her bikini, just to go to use the beach or pool facilities available only at the Divani Palace. Both units are somewhat away from the shopping areas, like vouliagmeni. Ermou Street is even further and will cost you about 35/40 Euros. The hotels do provide a shattle bus to these locations but the timetable is somewhat restricted. If you need to stay at these hotels make sure you have your room allocated at the Divani Palace which extremely well maintained and has all the facilities right next to you.

Located 50 metres from the beach, this upscale hotel offers a private beach area with free sun loungers and a beach bar. The rooms are modernly renovated and all have balconies with side views of the sea. In the bathroom are high quality French body lorion, shampoo etc. The breakfast buffet is extensive from Greek yogurt to salmon. There is also a nice selection of delicious cakes. The cheesecake was great. Valet parking costs 25€ per day. You can also find a free parking space in the narrow streets.

we stayed one weekend in this hotel to attend a well-known buzuk that was located near it. the hotel has high standards of cleanliness and service, it is located very close to the sea and offers, in addition to very beautiful views from the restaurant and bar, the opportunity to walk by the sea in a very pleasant promenade. The hotel's Spa was very interesting and large, but to get the most of it you have to pay extra.

I stayed in this hotel for five beautiful night in March out of season usually . I would stay that this hotel is wonderful at all aspects, I don’t even have one item to criticize. Location wise it is perfect , direct sea views, very close to number of great restaurants while on the other side you can go for a calm stroll on the beach. Since I made to different reservations I had to change between 2 different rooms where both rooms were very comfortable and clean yet I must say that the higher category room had a much better view directly on the sea side. Breakfast was very good in terms of quality and variety, not even one item you could think of was not available , workers in the breakfast room are extremely welcoming and friendly, that being said I must say that all employees there at the reception or door men were extremely nice and helpful. In a nutshell this hotel is absolutely wonderful with everything you need for spending happy and comfortable holidays .

I stayed in Divani Apollo Thalasso 5 nights as solo traveller and I enjoyed my stay and holiday very much. The hotel is in a very good location in calm and good area of Athens close to Astir in Vouilagmeni part of Athens. The hotel has 5 stars, rooms have balcony , kettle, minibar and good functional and wide bathroom. Hotel has 2 outdoor pools has direct access to beach called Mythos Beach club in Kavouri beach. It has very good , clean facilities. (E.g everytime new fresh towel given in beach and in pool area) the service in the beach especially Myrta deserves an ovation due to her good and friendly service. The hotel has a shuttle in certain hours to city centre Syntagma Square , it could have been better if they also had a service at midnight from center to hotel.
Breakfast was good with variety of options , the only improvement could be improvement in operating hours as they close breakfast area very sharp at 10:30
Overall I had a good time with service , food , facilities and location. I highly recommend anyone looking to have swimming , summer vacation in Athens

We always stay here when we’re in Athens. It’s a large sophisticated hotel that manages to provide guests with the personal touch, whether it’s an unexpected treat in your room or staff who seem genuinely pleased to welcome you. Beautiful comfortable rooms with stunning views of the sea, and great food is provided by the hotel if you do not feel like walking across the road to eat at any of the amazing restaurants nearby. The location is close enough to everything, including the airport, but away from the hustle and bustle of center Athens.
